How to care for a baby squirrel? okay, so i don't want to hear from people that say you should have left it, and you can't keep squirrels. i just want to hear from the people who know how to care for a baby squirrel that is a couple weeks old. Thanks! ;) Well we started out with baby kitten formula and then we went to Pets mart and some one told us that the kittens milk is a bit to strong and they said to get puppies milk formula. Plus we have to keep him warm since he is totally hairless. he seems to be doing very well. :) He is so cute! lol I really don't think he would lived if i had left him. So tiny and helpless....
How do you take care of a baby squirrel? And why is it illegal? Well I rescued a baby squirrel a few nights ago. His eyes just opened last night... I'm trying to take care of him the best I can but I want to be sure he is as healthy as can be. I've been giving him puppy formula and he has a heat pad. He is only 6 weeks old. I just want to be sure I'm doing it right.

Baby Squirrel Care???? Help ME PLEASE!!!? So. My uncle and auntie in Colorado found a baby squirrel that was abandoned by it's mother. Being as kind as they are, they found a cage to take care of it. However, the squirrel population in Wesminster, the city they live in, there is almost no squirrels there. Erie, where my family lives, has TONS all over the town. We are bringing it to our house, and we need help! Can you guys PLEASE tell how to take basic care? We need to know what to feed it. We have bedding from my hamsters and an old cage that we will use. Please?
Orphaned Baby Squirrel Care.? My brother and I found a baby squirrel fallen from a tree about 5 days ago. We went to our local pet store and got all the information we needed on how to take care of it from the staff. We feed it a cat milk substitute every couple hours. The only thing that is worrying me is that I don't see any wastes from the baby squirrel. It is about 2 weeks old. Do baby squirrels not poop until they are on solid food? What should I do? I would like to send it to a wildlife care place but I live in the middle of no where. When it is old enough to travel with out food for about 4hr Im going to take it to one.
PLEASE help with tips on care for a small (note, not pinky baby) squirrel? Okay, I found a little baby squirrel in the yard who is likely seperated from it's home/mother due to the massive landscaping project going on across the street in what used to be a very dense forest area. The little fellow (I am assuming it's male?? really no clue) is fully furred, ears open, eyes open, tail beginning to curl and he is very active. I am doing the best I can since no rehabilitators are in my direct area. I bought Enbilac, but he was not interested...seems way more interested in dry plain cheerios and bananas. So that's what he has been eating these last few days. So far so good...he seems active, alert and happy. He just sleeps an awful lot, usually most the day until I come and wake him 3x a day to take meals and play, which he does pretty well. I'm worried about the constant sleeping, the site I visited about baby squirrel care says he is probably between 6-8 weeks of age. So I am well aware he is weaned and can poop himself, and I've been finding his poop all over anyways. I offer him clean water in a small dish and he seems more interested in play with the water than drinking it. That I am concerned about. I called local animal shelters and all they did was say they couldn't take him in, and that I should be wary of touching him due to rabies...yet declined to offer much else by way of signs and only served to make me paranoid!! I can't release this little thing because he's way too small and has no nest to survive the winter, and he has become too attached to me. So, I need to know what I need to look for in a (potrntially) rabid squrriel since they done med me paranoid, how much they should be drinking now, and what is the best food for this age range? He seems very alert and happy since his first day here, now on day 4. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

How to take care of a baby squirrel? This morning me and my brother found a baby squirrel on our driveway. It looked like it was trying to crawl but couldnt move, and it looked so helpless. We were afraid to touch it, so we got big ziploc bags, and we put then over our hands and gently put the squirrel into a box. We put shredded peices of tissue in the bos, and a paper towel to cover it. We left the top of the box open because it can baarely move, so i dont expect it to jump out of the box. It's only about 3 inches long and has only a teeney weeney bit of fur. We dont know what to do. We tried calling PetCo but they didnt know what to do. Right now it is sleeping (and not dead because we see it move evryone once and a while) He seems content, but i dont know how to care for it. Any advice? and please dont tell me I shouldve left it alone or anything like that I want to know how to care for it.

Is it illegal to take care of baby squirrels in FL? Someone found five orphaned squirrels (his neighbor was cleaning out the pipes and was gonna kill them) but he didn't know what to do with them so he brought them to me. I live in Suwanee County in Florida, does anyone know what the rules are for this kind of thing? Thanks!

We gave her some warm milk and cleaned her up and stuck her in a box with some towels to keep her warm. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to take care of her (what should we feed her, how many times, how much? etc. etc.) 4 seconds ago Everytime i cover the squirrel up she gets out from underneath the towl. I dont know how else to keep him/her warm. Does anyone have any suggestions about this? Anything will help. How would I take care of baby squirrels? My brothers and I were cutting down a tree and when we cut it down, we found a nest of squirrels in the moss. I feel so bad, especially since the mother never came back... They haven't even opened there eyes yet, they're so helpless! I want to take them in and nurse them, but I don't know what to do. Baby Squirrel??? I have an orphaned baby squirrel and can not get in touch with a wildlife rehabilitation center. So as of now I need to care for it. What do I need to do, how much to feed how often and stuff would be appreciated. Any tips?
Taking Care of a Baby Squirrel? While mowing the lawn today, my dad found a baby red squirrel that seemed to have "fallen" out of one of the birdhouses we have on our property. We assumed that his mother was nesting in there and he had just managed to tumble out and that she'd find him soon. However, after returning to our home late this afternoon (several hours later), the squirrel was still there — it was raining — and it didn't appear that he was well off. So, we decided to give it another hour to see if his mom would come and get him, but nothing. By the time we decided to take him in, his back was soaked and he didn't look like he was breathing well. But, after warming him up and giving him a re-hydrating solution (1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 2 cups of water), he seemed to be well, normal. Right now we have him in a rat cage where he's curled up and sleeping, and he's way too vulnerable to be put back out into the wild — his eyes aren't even open and we haven't seen his mother. Of course, we don't plan on keeping him and we hope to release him once he's weaned, or drop him off at a wildlife centre where they can teach him to be an actual squirrel again, but during his stay with us, what other things can we do to make him comfortable? I've read up on what to do with orphan squirrels so I've got an idea of what to do, but any tips? I'd really like him to be okay and make it. Thanks, Quinby
how to feed and take care of less than 1 week old baby squirrel? i dont know the exact age but it cannot balance itself and is one and half inch long, does it drink milk and what it eats i tried to feed milk in a bowl but it dont seem to like it what should i do and how should i keep it clean
ive been taking care of a baby squirrel whos mom was killed after a hurricane How do I make him un-constipated? We found him two days ago, and all we had at first to feed the poor thing was skim milk. He was dehydrated and freezing, so we fed him that for one day, only to find out the next day that milk is the LAST thing you're supposed to give them. We took him to the pet store and bought him some puppy formula and that's what he's been eating since, but he's only pooped once since we've found him on the first day. I'm so worried about him! Please tell me if this is normal or if there's something we can do to help.. also we know about having to stimulate them to go to the bathroom and we have been, and he's peeing just fine.. but I think the baby is constipated :( please help.
Can a domestic baby rabbit live in the same cage with a tame baby squirrel? I have been caring for an orphaned baby squirrel since she was about 2 weeks old. She is now about 7 weeks old. My husband just built her a big cage with a nesting/predator box to house her in until she is old enough to release. Yesterday my son brought home a domestic baby rabbit and I'm wondering if it is a good idea to put the rabbit and squirrel together. Has anyone had any experience with putting a rabbit and a squirrel together? Thanks in advance!
"How can I treat a baby squirrel with constipation?"? I found a baby squirrel that I'm attempting to care for until I can find a wildlife rehabber. I know that you're supposed to help it "go to the bathroom" after each feeding, but recently these efforts failed, and the baby squirrel can no longer eat until it gets unconstipated. Aside from the usual stimulation, how can I get it to poop? I'm worried if he doesn't get this stool out of his system soon, he won't survive.
Where can I get a pet baby squirrel in indiana? I once saved a squirrel in march 2009. a cat had it in its mouth and i rushed over to the cat and pulled the baby squirrel out of the cats mouth. My neighbor was a vet and was taking care of it for me but 2 days later it died from the cats bite, and ever since i really have been interested in squirrels so where can i get one?
How old is this baby squirrel I found? How do I take care of him? I am a victim of hurricane Ike that recently destroyed parts of houston. I am one of the lucky people here. As I was dragging limbs off the roof of my house I found this baby squirrel calling for the mother. We found the nest he lived in and it was part of the fallen tree. I warmed him up as soon as possible and found out he had small teeth. Looks like his teeth may just now be coming in. He's probably 4 or 5 inches in length from head to beginning of his tail. Hes real good about latching on to me and balling up to keep warm, but he won't climb. We tried putting him back on a tree to be free but he wouldn't climb. (He's real good about climbing all over me however) I tried feeding him a sunflower seed with out the case and he wouldn't take it. I'm not sure if I should give him regular milk or maybe I should dilute it a little. I read something about giving pedialite, but our resources are limited here because of the hurricane. (I decided to call the baby squirrel Ike) maybe I should start off with apple sauce? I'm taking any suggestions right now, thanks :) Okay, I have an old heat rock I kept from a gecko I used to own. I can use this to heat him up. I am unable to take him to a vet or shelter right now. I am more than positive he is a squirrel.. I have a syringe I used to feed him some apple sauce. my next question is how often I should feed him? every two hours is my guess so far. Thank you for your help and your support for Ike victims. PS Don't worry, I will either release him or take him to a shelter ASAP but right now the roads are crazy and the gas is scarce..
My friend and I found some baby squirrels that fell out of a tree! How should we care for it? And is there a law in Georgia about keeping pet squirrels? How do you "simulate" the squirrel after feeding?
i need help caring for a baby squirrel? i found a baby squirrel in the ground its probably weeks old hasn't even open it's eyes i need to know how to take care of it help please
Does anyone know a good formula for a 5-6 week old squirrel? Anyone know some care tips? My Aunt found a baby squirrel and she needs to know a good formula for it. We saw the mom and her other baby with her. The mom has problems. We can't find the mom and the other baby anywhere, so we're just keeping it in a box. We need help! So far, nobody has given me a milk formula. We need a good formula. We have started feeding them (we found a littermate) heated cow's milk and they don't seem to like it. We need a good formula that's safe for the squirrels! *FIRST TO GIVE ME A GOOD FORMULA GETS VOTED BEST ANSWER BY ME!*
Wildlife centers in Atlanta Georgia to take a baby squirrel? I work at PetSmart in Atlanta and a customer came in today with a baby squirrel. She was going out of town so after her begging me I took the squirrel since I helped hand raise 2 this summer. They are technically illegal to own in GA & I really dont have time to take care of it. So I need to know where in ATL I can find a place to give this poor baby.
Caring for a baby squirrel abandoned by mother? I woke up today to my mother distraught over my cat trying to kill a baby squirrel. We rescued the poor little guy, but were forced to keep him inside while the neighborhood mob of cats and dogs showed up to see what the commotion was about. We tried to get his mother to take him back, but she ran off when we got close. We left the baby on the tree, but he doesn't seem to understand how vulnerable he is on the ground and was once again attacked. He's uninjured, but it seems we'll be forced to care for him. He seems to be 5-6 weeks old, he's got a full coat and a bushy tail, but he has no teeth. No one's home from 7AM to 3PM, so I'm worried about feeding. The wildlife refuge won't take him, squirrels are quite abundant where I live. I don't want to abandon him to the element outside, but I can't quit school and my parents have to work. What, if anything, can I do?
how to care for baby squirrels? 3 squirrels fell out of a tree and id rly hate to see them die so how do i help them until they can care for themselfs... i need to know what they eat too
What kind of squirrel do I have? I am taking care as best as I can, but I am dizzy with all the info out there I have read so much on the internet about baby squirrels, everyone recommends something different. But I'm not sure what kind of squirrel I have, might be a flying squirrel as it seem to have slightly webbed sides, But I'm not sure. It seem to be doing ok, but not pooping as far as I can tell. I get a headache reading the 9000 sites about what to do, when I'm not even sure what I have. Please help!!
I'm taking care of 3 baby squirrels, 1 is twitching a lot—is it having seizures? If so, why is she? I'm taking care of 3 orphan baby squirrels—they're about a week old—and one twitches a lot. It's only when she tries to sleep, or when she is sleeping. I noticed this today, I've only had them for 2 days. Is she malnutritioned? I'm new to this (raising squirrels), so I have no clue about what to do. All I know is that I feel terrible, she's so cute and helpless. :( information that may or may not help: I fed her pediatric electrolyte yesterday (known as Pedialyte) because my mom said she looked dehydrated. Today, I felt that she didn't look dehydrated, so I fed her formula (for kittens—my mom couldn't find squirrel formula), she didn't seem very interested in the formula, but she still drank it. Help? I'm worried. I can't take them to the vet at 12AM, I just need to know if I can feed her tonight I don't know if messing with her right now will cause problems. I'm just feeling guilty due to me not being very knowledgeable when it comes to squirrel care :p
How can I take care of two baby squirrels?! PLEASE HELP!? So the other day, my brother was outside with the dogs, and he hears this awful shrieking sound. One of my dogs was over in the corner by a bush sniffing something. So he went over there, and this tiny little baby squirrel fell out of its nest or something. It's really young, its eyes aren't even open yet. So we aren't planning on keeping it or anything, but how can we take care of it until we find some wildlife place to give it to? Right now, we wrapped it up in a tshirt with its head poking out and put it in a little bird cage. We have a heating pad underneath it so it can warm up. We fed it water through a little puppy formula bottle, and we also fed it about a CC of watered down puppy formula. This morning, my mother also found ANOTHER one, hanging from a tree shrieking. There was a storm the other night, so I'm pretty sure the wind just brought something down.

How do I tend to these baby squirrels? I just saw that on the ledge outside my house, atop the air conditioner a mother squirrel has given birth to 2 small baby squirrels. I went and took a peek and they seem hardly a day old. Their eyes haven't even opened yet. I left 2 almonds for their mother and am wondering if there is any way I can befriend these babies, and take care of them. What should I do? Will they be okay left as they are? Anyone who knows about this please advise. Thanks MG
Need help with a Baby Squirrel.? Was quite windy out today. I believe a baby squirrel blew out of it's nest somehow. Out outside kitty found it. I got it away from him. Is there anyone ( vets, conservation centers etc.) who will take care of the baby or knows how to take care of a baby squirrel? I hate to see anything happen to the little thing. Thank you for your help. I was able to contact the conservation center this morning. They said to try to locate the nest and put the baby in the tree where it can not fall out. The momma squirrel will be by shortly to get the baby as they are good mommies and won't let anything happen to their babies. It was less then 1/2 hr after we put the baby in the tree that it started to screech. Then the mommy came running and chattering. She picked up her baby and went up to the nest. Such a beautiful site. Momma and baby reunited. Happy ending.
I can't get my baby squirrel to eat. What do I do? He is an orphaned squirrel that I found yesterday. Before you comment about it there are no rehabilitators that will take him at this time around here so I'm having to care for him. I have cared for other small animals but this one won't eat from a syringe. I am using a formula given to me by a rehab. person I talked to yesterday. Any suggestions will help...I also can't get him to go "potty" even after rubbing with a warm damp cloth for several minutes. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks This animal was blown out of the tree during a high wind, is very healthy, and is not suffering from dehydration...I have already checked.
Tips on caring for a baby squirrel? My friend and I have decided to take on the task of caring for a baby squirrel. We don't know what to do. We are trying to get it to bottle feed, but we're not sure how to go about doing this. Could you use a surrogate mother, such as a cat? Any help would be appreciated. :3 Maybe I should have clearified the situation. You see, my friend works at an animal hospital. This little baby squirrel fell out of the tree and the mother did not go and get it. If fell out in a yard where there were two big dogs who would have mauled it to death. SO the woman brought it in to the animal hospital and she opted to care for the little thing.

what do you do with a baby squirrel? my cousin saved a baby squirrel from a cat and she doesnt know what to do with it or how to take care of it.
My dog attacked a baby squirrel? My dog got hold of a baby squirrel. I yelled at her and she released the squirrel however it seemed to have a broken leg. I was wondering if anyone knows how I should care for the squirrel or if their is an animal rescue close to Rising Sun MD. I love all animals and I know my dog was just acting on instinct but it hurts me when she hurts other animals. I have the squirrel in a cat crate right now. I did pick it up with double layered welding gloves. The squirrel is not very old I have him in a dark room where it is quiet so it does not get stressed too much. I am hopeful that it is just scared and will recover enough to release it. When I was a kid my dad had raised baby squirrels and I would ask him for help but I do not have a wegi board. I did find a resuce and planning on taking the squirrel after work today should it survive..
how to care for a squirrel.? so a while ago i found this baby squirrel and took him to the vet. he had a broken leg. he is very nice, just like a pet rat, and he rides on my shoulder all day long. he is not yet fully weaned, so i have been feeding him a special rodent milk formula i got at petco. once he is weaned, what should be the healthiest thing to feed him. i dont want to make him too fat or too skiny. would rat food for my pet rats be ok? i got his vaccinations by the way and hes perfectly healthy. i know this is an odd question but how should i care for it? i have been keeping him in a two story rat cage, he sleeps in his hammock and i have started to feed him little bits of food like the vet said to do. he is litter trained and he knows his name... does it sound like i have been doing the right thing?
We have an injured baby squirrel that seems to have lost its family.? What is the best way to care for it? What should we feed it?

Neither of my baby squirrels can move their back legs. What is wrong? My cousin found two baby squirrels not too long ago outside. Their eyes are open, and I don't know how old they are, but neither of them can move their back legs. I don't know much of how he has been taking care of them because I just came back to vist today, but they squeal, move, crawl, ect just their back legs aren't functioning. Just hanging limp. =[ Can anyone help me out here?

found baby squirrel? I found a single baby squirrel in the road today and it was going to get hit by a car if i left it there so I brought him to my house and I have been caring for him. He was a little cold when I found him and he had fleas but he seems to be healthy (his gums are pink and he is not dehydrated) and is not injured at all. I can't care for him on my own because I don't have a lisence and I have cats living in my home. I am having trouble locating a rehabber in the auburn/syracuse, ny area so if you are one or know one please contact me.
I have been nursing a baby flying squirrel for 3 weeks, that my cat brought home,? I nursed it with formula from a syringe, I read everything I could and did my best. It was growing really well, and my whole family got very attached to it. Sat. morning it was very sick, breathing with mouth open, walkiing weird, anyway I found a "wildlife rehabber" who I spoke to on the phone and we met , I thinking that she was just going to give it a life saving injection of "ringers".But she said she needed to take it home and take care of it. NOW after calling a finding out how its doing, she seems to have taken quite a fancy to it. I just know that she is not going to give it back to me. If it cannot be released back to the wild , which would clearly be the best thing, and will be kept for a "pet", it should be mine. I told her I wanted it back, but I have no recourse. Its in her possession and just hearing her little kid in the back wanting to play with it, I know that she is probably planning on keeping it. I am sick about it. I literally rescued it from death.
About relocating a baby squirrel? I haven't worked in several months. A squirrel has built a nest in my walkboards which I have strapped to the top of my work trailer. Now I have to go back to work. I couldn't help myself and I peeled back the top of the nest to see what the little critters looked like and to try to guess their age. From what i have read on the internet these squirrels are at least four weeks of the six weeks that they need to get out on their own. There are two babies. The fur is getting thinck. The tails are very long, I would say probably guess four inches, easily as long as their body. The eyes aren't open yet. When I peeked, one ran, I caught it and put it back in the nest. It was strong and held on to my fingers with great strength (for a baby squirrel). Now my dilema. Will the scent that I have put on this baby scare the mama away? Will I have to now raise it or call an animal care taker? I don't want to hurt the babies, but my life depends on me going back to work. Please advise.
Help for a baby squirrel? I just want general advice. My friend cut down a tree in their backyard, and I offered to take care of it. He's eating the kitten milk great, and he's moving around a lot. I just want advice. Thanks! Oh yeah, I know this is in the bird category, Yahoo somehow chose it. I know a squirrel is not a bird. :) Thanks for the anwers! Rescued a baby squirrel? We rescued a baby squirrel a couple of days ago from a park, where kids were terrorizing the poor thing. Mom wasn't around (he was calling for her, she didn't come. We gave him space and such so mom wouldn't be afraid to go to him,) and the SPCA at the time was closed, so we kept him for the night. We found him such a joy, we decided we'd rehabilitate him ourselves and release him when he's old enough. I've found some websites with some basic ideas and dos and donts with baby squirrels, but I want to know if there are any other squirrel rehabilitators out there willing to give me advice on this? Basic care, diet, cage for the time being, etc... Also: right now, it's the end of summer. Aren't squirrels gathering food for the long winter? If we release him sometime in the Fall, will he die? Is it better to wait to release him end of winter, early spring? Extremely grateful!
omg! i need help with a baby squirrel. weird story!....? ok so yesterday my mom found two baby squirrels...she wrapped them up and left them for the night to see if their mother came and got them. they didnt. so she took them to our house. and whats weird is my best friend just found a baby squirrel also. (neighbors poisined its mom and other babys) so she save this one. she is at school and asked me to take care of it. my mom just went to pets mart and bought a baby animal bottle. with a small nipple. so i am wondering how many times a day we should feed it. (we are feeding it sweetened milk) ??????and any other tips..?
i found a baby squirrel what shall i do? night before yesterday i found a baby squirrel. i couldn't reunite it with its mom. so i named it changu and took him home. now after i fed him i surfed the net and found that he should not be given cow's milk. though i fed him cow's milk mixed with water. but still i was afraid. also it should be stimulated for urination which i didnt knew. although i started taking care of these things but the problem is that here in india, specially in the place where i live there are no rehabs or vets. does anyone really know what homemade dishes i can give him?? any more information i would be thankfull. also changu would bless you if you guys and gals help me save his life. thanks please help i forgot to tell one thing that i have surfed many sites on taking care of baby squirrels and i m following most of instructions.but again my prob is there are NO REHABS nor VETS i know its illegal.but i have no other choice. i thank you all for your answers and appreciation. he is too small to be fed solid food.today morning i fed him with boiled cow's milk mixed with water in 2:3 ratio. with boiled veg water. and salt sugar water solution for rehydration. he is urinating and defacieng quite well. but i want more choices of food which i can give him. also i would like to add that here in india the current temp is around 38- 40 degree celcius. still i have kept it near warm water filled bottle wrapped with cotton cloth.i dont think his mom abandoned it because i found it at night outside a park. a dog was about to eat it, suddenly i noticed it and hit the dog and took changu home.his tail was injured a bit but he is recovering. also he is strong enough to climb up to my fingers. i mean he cant walk but he recognizes my fingers and crawls on it tries to climb up.
Baby squirrel died.... I found a baby squirrel in our flowerpot.Mom didn't come back for him so I cared for him.Got him warm, hydrated, and started the feeding. I bought the recomended formula.I had him for 10 days & he was thriving well. Then I noticed his little nose started to bleed, and he didn't want to eat.How could he be perfectly fine one day, and then not the next? Do you think Mom left him on purpose,& what kind of imparement would make his nose bleed?
I just found a baby squirrel...looks like he's dying.....? Keep reading for the dog question.....? I was outside alittle while ago and saw that my cat was "playing" with something so I walked over and there he had the cutest little baby squirrel I ever saw. He is still breathing but his eyes are closed. I put him in a box on top of some towels and put a little towel over him. I also put a couple drops of water into his mouth with a tiny dropper. Is there anything else i should be doing? Do you think he will survive?? My daughter is all upset over it, I just keep telling her that God might take him back to heaven tonite. If anyone has any advise I would be grateful to hear it. Peace and God bless to you all. YES, I know this is in the dog section but this is where i am mostly and I know there are alot of caring people here. And if you really want a question pertaining to a dog, here it is....what dog name would you call this little guy?? Thanks Dale, I will certaintly try that.. You guys are so wonderful, i knew I posted this question in the right section. Update: I gave him some warm milk thru a dropper and the little guy responded..he was licking it up!! Still hasn't opened his eyes, but that's ok....one thing at a time!
How to tame a baby rabbit? Okay I know this is going to sound stupid, but, I want to take care of and tame this baby rabbit. I live in an area with ALOT of cats, wild dogs, foxes, bob cats. Yesterday night I heard something screaming outside of my window, I run outside and there is my big black cat with a baby rabbit, she's an evil thing. She was letting it go so it could run, then she'd catch it again. She keeps bringing me things home, she brings them right to the front door, sometimes theyre alive, but mostly they are dead. Anyway, the rabbit is wounded, two wounds on its stomach, I cleaned the wounds with a q-tip last night and put antibiotic ointment on them, the rabbit was in complete shock. I put it in a box with grass so he could make a little nest and sleep. He's still in the box. I guess he's feeling better this morning because I opened the box and boing out pops rabbit and took me 30 mins to catch him again. Now, I know whats going to happen, if i let him loose he is destined for death. After seeing a dog with one of the baby bunnies in its mouth, i can't help but want to keep this thing safe. Maybe only till his wounds heal. But is it possible to tame the rabbit? The bunny is about as big as the palm of my hand. note: i've raised many litters of newborn baby kittens, and bottle fed twin baby squirrels till they were old enough to eat solids, they would climb on me and nest in my hair, they were cute. note: also i know people are going to say keep the cat inside but its impossible when i'm young and live with my mom who constantly lets the cat outside.
My dog cared for squirrel babies!!!!!? ok when me and my sister were in our backyard we noticed little squirrel babies on the grass so once we examined them 2 out of 5 were alive. so when we put them in a basket to let them sleep my dog ran over and started to nurse them and lick them. I think she thought they were her puppies!!!! Plus how did she nurse them and she's spayed and never had puppies before!!!!!
