Can my parakeets take care of a robin egg, and once hatched, a robin baby? My parakeets just laid eggs, and so did a robin. For some reason I put a video camera up by the robin's nest. I recently saw a dead robin, and the nest had no robins coming to it. There is only 1 robin egg so I was wondering if my parakeets could take care of the robin like one of their babies.
How do I care for this baby Robin? I found him under a bush. He has feathers and some down feathers. He also has a broken leg. What do I feed him? I feed him a worm earlier and he ate it. Anything else I need to know? If so please tell me. Thank you. :)

Baby robin.? I found a baby robin I do not know if it is a boy or girl. But I want to know how to feed it. All it does is poop and move it's head down into the nest. The baby robin did not even open it's mouth. The baby robin's parents have not been at the nest for 3 days and I want to know if they could be watching also. How much should I feed the bird? The baby does not even take anything. Just poops! I do not want a baby bird dieing right here. Could the parents have another nest to take care of? I am sad. Should we just go to the rehab place? Or should we go to a pet place?

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF A BABY ROBIN! EASY 10 POINTS!? Okay. I found abandoned robin eggs. My doves are sitting on them ( about same body temp.) when they hatch what do I do? I do not have a wildlife thingy near me. I don't really know when to feed theme, I know to feed them every 2 hours but other than that what should I do? I'm sorry. I did not see any nests around. Btw, my dog found them.

What is the best way to take care of a baby robin? Two days ago my husband found a robin's nest under the hood of our van. We weren't able to save the nest, but we saved 2 of the robins. They were around 3 days old and now just opened their eyes. We built a nestbox with hay and paper towels and are keeping them in our hedgehog room where it is 80 degrees. I've been feeding them every 20-30 minutes during daylight hours. They are eating moistened high quality cat food that my hedgehogs eat with natural ingredients. So far, they have been doing well. I contacted the closest Wildlife rehab center yesterday, but I haven't heard back from them yet. If anyone has any helpful suggestions, I would appreciate your advice. I completely expect that I will get a response from a professional and I can not and won't release them back into the wild myself. I am due to have my second child in less than 2 weeks, so I am only asking about what should be done until I hear from the wildlife center. Believe me... I have many years experience caring for orphaned animals and I'm not asking for advice that goes against the laws, regulations or safety of the animal. I just want to be sure that I'm not going to hurt the animal until I am able to get it to a someone who can better care for and release it. Thanks! :) The wildlife center called and they may be able to take them in tomorrow. I have a good relationship with my vet, but he doesn't take them in. I guess I will just wait and see. Someone from the wildlife center came to pick them up and told me I did a good job with them and they were going to continue to do what I had been doing. Evidently moistened high quality cat food is a good diet for them.

Caring for baby Robin nestlings.? Yesterday I found a nest on the ground with 3 robins eggs in them. I know that your supposed to leave them there because there mother will still care for them. But shortly after finding the nest, I found a female robin who was dead (She was less then 3 feet from the nest). And it was almost dark out so I took them inside. I kept them in a showbox with a towel in it and a heat lamp and made sure the temp stayed at 100degrees. I also put I small tin of water in there and covered the eggs and water with plastic so it would stay humid. the eggs were still alive when we found them (They were quite warm and I could feel them moving inside). Anyways, to get to the point, 2 of the 3 eggs have since hatched. I've been feeding them every 20-40 minutes-depending on if they are hungry and gape at me with there mouths open- using baby bird food and a small syringe, and it's been about 48 hours since they've hatched. they seem very healthy. But I'm curious as to how long they can sleep for without food. During the night, I've left them unfeed and kept it dark and warm for them. I've left them that way for up to 4 hours. and when I go and check on them, aside from being hungry, they seem fine and go back to sleep once I feed them. I just want to know the max. time they can go without eating. And yes, I know it's illegal to have wild birds and all that, so spare me the lecture and please help me with my question? That would be fantastic. My aunt (Who I live with) Is licensed to care for domestic animals as well as wild. I've personally cared for injured birds-Full grown and fledgling-And know the right kind of food they need. As well as the vitamins I need to supply them with, wich they would normally get in the wild. I also live in a small town and the nearest wildlife center is several hours away. Which is why I've chosen to care for them on my own. I'm aware they don't eat over night. I was just curious as to how long they sleep and don't need to eat. And yes. I've cared for fledglings. and have successfully released them. But not nestlings. My aunt is licensed to have them in her possession. But since I'm going to school for veterinary science, she left the responsibility of them to me. And will not intervene unless she thinks they are at risk of death or sickness. And so far, all of them are normal, healthy baby birds. With no sign of dehydration, Sour crop, pneumonia, etc. I Have since gotten down a regular routine as far as feed/sleeping. And as far as contacting a rehab, I've already stated that the nearest one is several hours away. And it doesn't even specialize in avian care. So thanks for your attempts at helping, but I see that I'm not going to get anything other then scolding and accusing.
How do you take care of a baby bird? I found a little baby robin on my sidewalk. We don't know if she has any injuries, but she seems fine because she moves. We put her in a shoebox with grass in it, but we have no idea how to feed her. Please help!
What if a baby Robin Bird fell out of its nest? A baby Robin Bird fell out of its nest. What would happen? Would its mother help it back into the nest? Still care for it? This happend to a baby bird at my house, the nest is located up kinda by my roof, and a baby fell out. and its hiding in the bushes. And as weird as this sounds, I really fear for it.
What should I do about this baby robin? Basically there's a robin nest outside on my porch, there's one baby that was noticeable younger than the rest of the other babies. Yesterday, all the other babies left the nest and I didn't see the parents at the nest at night, so i'm guessing they're gone. Bt the one that seems younger is still there with possibly no birds to care for it, what should I do? Should I dig up worms and put them in the nest?
what can you feed a baby robin? I have a fullly feathered baby robin, and PLEASE note that no I did not take this bird just because I found it. I iam aware it's again the law and that people should leave wild animals where thery are. But i took him because he was hurt and it seembed as if a cat or something must have gotten him. So I'm taking care of it to realese him when he's heathly. I just need to know what should I feed it.
I found a baby robin, what should I do to take care of it? I cant find the nest it came from, and there was a bad storm last night so im thinking the lil guy fell out last night. ive called up several vets and animal hospitals but none are willing to take it. for the time being i dont mind taking care of it, but do you know of any places near Merrillville, IN that would take care of it, or what i should do to take care of it till its mature enough to be on its own? its feathers are just coming in and hes losing his fuzz, he hasnt walked but hes not injured from what i can tell.
Do robin's adopt other baby robins? Some cats got at the robin nest in my backyard and only one baby is left, the robin's abandon their nest.. If i put the baby in another near by Robin's nest will that robin take care of it?
How can you tell if a baby robin is a boy or girl? Me and my g-ma found a baby robin. It was very sickly looking and unable to perch. There were no parents around even after 1 hour and 30 minutes of waiting. So we took it in and have been caring for it for about a month, it can pretty much fly and sings and everything. But how can you tell if it is a boy or girl?
i found a baby robin...? we found this robin, i estimate he is a week old. we found one last year and took care of it, and he didnt make it, but he was kicked out of the nest. so was this one, and he is much healthier. he has been eating, about every 20 minutes, and we have been very presice about feeding, he is on a proper ''bird diet'' and everything seems to be running smooth. anyway, ive heard that they have like eternal clocks for when they eat and when they dont, but when does it turn on and when does it go off. they do not eat at night, but i dont know when to stop the process at night and begin in the morning? any info that you know about taking care of baby robins please tell, i want him to live. and he has TONS of feathers and HEY STUPID... i didnt kill the first one, he was half ded when i found him, and he died overnight
how to take care of a baby robin? Today i went to my aunts house out in the country :) me and a five year old i was baby sitting walked aorund and we saw cat pouncing around the grass upon furhter investigation the cat was stalking a baby robing lying on the gorund the robing looks healthy, plump, and is feahtered, he still has a little fluff, but not much. There werent any trees nearby so it's kind of a mystery where the little guy came from well after much whining from the five year old, my mom gave in and we took it home, we plan on releasing it as soon its ready, but until then.....we have no clue what to do. We have a bird cage and stuff but we're not sure what to feed it, how many times a day do we feed it? all of that stuff! I googled it but didnt find any answers. so can either you respond or give me a link to a care website - WE DO PLAN ON RELEASING IT, but it's probably not ready to live on it's own quite yet. It's got a majority of feahters, and still some fluff on it :)

I found a baby robin!!!? I found a baby robin in my neighbors yard! My dog escaped and ran into their yard. When I caught I noticed a baby robin sitting there. I would have just stuck him in his nest and left but the nest was placed OVER concrete and if he fell out again he would be killed. I have taken care of baby birds before but never a robin. I need to know what to keep him in. I have a cage but I don't know what to cover the bottom with, I would have used straw but I didn't have any. Should I use newspaper or grass, leaves, ivy or anything like that? I know how to take care of him other than that. One more thing, what do I do if he won't eat? Oh yeah, and the cage is for rabbits... The holes are big enough for him to stick his head through and choke. Will he stop trying to do that once he gets used to it?
I need baby robin experts!? Just a few hours ago, I rescued a robin egg from its abandoned nest. My cat had knocked out its sibling's egg, breaking it, and scared its mother away. At first, I was unsure about taking it from its nest incase the mom did come back, but if my cat knew there was another egg in the nest, she would definitely go back. So, I put the egg in some towels and set it under a light. And just minutes after, it began to hatch. Now I have a hatching robin egg, and no "just born" baby robin experience. I've cared for older robins, but never one this young. How long does it take to hatch? What should I feed it when it's done hatching? Will it make it through the night if I put warm towels on it and keep the light on? I've always tried calling the humane soceity. No answer. I doubt they would take it anyway. Any suggestions? I've already tried looking for a place to bring the bird. There's nothing close to me. No one will take it.
Baby Robin eggs?? My dad found six Robin eggs in an old elevator. We have put a lamp over them and placed them in an old shirt. The lamp warems the top at 100 degrees, and a heating pad warms the bottam right under 100 degrees. I need all info on how to care for robin eggs. Some certain things I need to know is, Is my temp. setting right? When should I turn the eggs? How do you build an incubator? No, he found them on the ground, sort of scattered out. they were right in front of the opening of the elevator. He didn't take them out of a nest.

GH: Robin's problem with her baby? How is it that Robin can take care of another baby (hold her, talk to her, and protect it when transporting the baby to Mercy) during the fire and hospital crisis but she can't do the SAME thing for Emma? Is that a symptom of Postpartum depression or something? Or is she just afraid of being a mother in general? Because she have no problems with other people's children but her own.

Robin fell from a nest? A Robin has fallen out of a nest at my home. The Robin is 2 weeks old. Can it be a good idea to put the bird back in the nest in hopes of the mother Robin will take care of her baby or should we just leave the baby Robin where it is in hopes that the mother will put it back by herself?
A robin nest I recently found with a baby robin and 3 eggs has been left by mother for 3 hours!!! What I DO!? Please read my previous question that I posted earlier. It seems that in the morning, I saw the mother robin with her baby and three eggs (one I found and put there), so I was relieved. But when I checked at 3:00PM, it was gone. It is now 6:00PM, and it has not come back. It is raining pretty hard. I know that the eggs probably won't make it (I don't have an incubator), but what should I do about the hatchling? When should I know for sure that it's mom abandoned it? When do I need to take care of it (even though it's illegal)???
What diseases can a baby bird carry? My son found a baby robin on the ground after a wind storm two days ago. He brought it home, and we are caring for it. I wonder what kinds of diseases/sickness we can get by handling it. We are washing our hands after each feeding and using Germ-X.
At what age do baby robin birds self feed? Okay we moved in to this house in august 08 there was a mouse problem but thats done (I think). there was a nest in a cubie hole so my dad went through it because there was a scratching sound. when he took the nest apart there were four baby robins today is the 3rd day that I have taken care of them. feeding them every 1/2 hour. (I did research sorta) I found a recipe and am using that. but i want to know what age they self feed. I think they are like 1.5-2 weeks old. Also any other information on robins you may have that would be helpful too.
Baby robins left nest prematurely, what should I do? I need help. I want to leave them alone and let nature, or their mother, take care of things but 2 out of the 3 chicks fell out of the nest. They are about 2-3 weeks old so they were able to fly down, but they are just sitting in the grass. I let the neighbors know about them and am ready to just leave them alone, but I want a game plan unless other people in the house feel the need to intervene. What is the best course of action if you need to intervene to save the 2 baby chicks?

I have a baby Robin! Need help ASAP!!? Ok well me and my friend were riding our bikes and we found this robin that was hopping around but couldnt fly. She cant keep it and the Pet Store owner cant help out, so I need help as to how to take care of it and get it to fly. Its an adolecent im guessing, because its very close to is max size and can fly somewhat, but not fly fly. If someone could tell me all i need to know, how to feed it, what to feed it, how to get it to fly again, and how to let it not die. Thanks for any help i get! I swear ill name it after the best answerer! XD While i would LOVE to return it to where I found it, i have a slight problem. That bird was a bird that a sinister little girl picked up from who knows where and carried it to the place I found it. So if I returned it to where I found it, it would just die. I have no idea where it really came from. Knowing now that I could get fined for it, I'll call a shelter or something. Because like I said I have no idea where it really came from.

There were two baby robins in my dogs mouth this morning, they were actually unharmed as far as i could tell, he was just holding them in there?? In the meantime my husband went to the bird store and bought them the bird mixture they said to give them, and ive been feeding them every 2 hours, they are pooping and seem lively enough, but i believe by looking at pics online they are only about 5 days old. I want to know if im doing the right thing with what i am feeding them, how often etc...I really want them to LIVE! Thats why im hoping these people will call me and let me know where i can take them for the best care possible. Please give me any pointers you know! Thank you !

Blind baby bird?? I rescued a blind baby robin and was told that he will have to be euthanized. The only other options are to bring him to someone who has a license to take care of him or to fin a bird conservatory/sanctuary that would take a blind baby bird. Any help on what to do out there?

What do I do w/an American Robin when I have not a clue where the nest is. Mother Robin is around the yard.? Just before sunset yesterday, 17Jun, I found a baby robin bouncing around my back yard. Mother Robin was up in a tree just frantic. Being late I couldn't try to find a proper nest, tree, or bush to leave the bird. I now have it in a nice cage and will attempt to care for it until I can release it. What are the chances, w/a prober diet does the little bird have? It's full of feather and can fly a little but cannot make it too far off the ground. Best case scenerio is to put it back where it came from but I haven't a clue where that could be. I'm sure mother bird will hang around the cage, I do have it outside....I could go on and on but ultimately I want to do the best thing for the bird to get it back into nature...WHAT SHOULD I DO...I guess is the question.
HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... I just found a baby bird lying on the ground and there was no nest so..? I just found a baby bird lying on the ground and there was no nest around so I took it inside and I have no clue what to do with it. I Googled what type of bird it is and I am 100% positive that it is a baby robin. The only thing I can tell about it is that it is hungry because whenever I go near it, he/she opens its mouth and starts cheeping. I have no clue how to do anything to help it survive. (Including feeding.) So any help or information on how to: 1. Feed 2. Care for 3. Create a suitable habitat 4. Keep from dying or 5. Keep it warm Would be VERY NICE. PLEASE answer soon, I don't want to have a death on my hands.
General Hospital's Robin Scorpio? Is there anyone out there that is getting disgusted with Robin Scorpio in not letting Patrick be a part of this child's life? He has told her over and over again that he wants to be a part of his child's life and she keeps telling him that he never wanted to be a father in the first place. I don't know what else he can do to prove that he really does want to be a part of his child's life. All I know is that I am getting sick of this scenerio. At one time it did look like Robin was going to let him be a part of this, but now she is not. I say "Get over it Robin. You are not the first woman to have a baby, nor will you be the last. " Give me a break. Her going on the internet was the last straw. I cannot believe the writers of General Hospital keeping this stupid scenerio going. Robin needs to grow up and act mature instead of crying her woes to the world. WHO CARES ROBIN. I bet there are a lot of pregnant women who would love to have a man like Patrick caring for them.
Robin's nest had eggs, now none, but no babies, and mama is still sitting on it!? About 2 1/2 weeks ago, a robin made her nest on our front porch light, and shortly there were 3 eggs (we looked, no touching). she seemed to tolerate us generally, only flying away for a few minutes when we came in or out, and even seemed to have gotten used to us. all this time, she sat on the nest, never leaving for long or very often, and seemed to be turning the eggs several times a day. early this a.m. she and the nest were fine. about 2 hours later, we found the nest on the ground, but no sign of eggs or hatchlings, and we knew it was nearing time for them to be hatching. we checked the ground and the bushes under the nest, but no luck; with great care (and plastic bags) we reset the nest. shortly, mama returned, and has been sitting on the empty nest ALL DAY! it's so SAD! but where are the babies?? or eggs? we're in southeast VA, but unsure about other bird/wildlife in suburbia, and only 1 cat that we know of (neighbors'). any ideas what happened or why she still sits??
I recently saved a pigeon roadside. What can I do to take care of it and find it's owner? It is banded and VERY tame. It suffered trauma (I assume it was hit by a car). It will not use it's left foot nor will it fly. Is there a way to locate the owner? Is it ok to keep it outside? Right now I have it in a hutch outside with some meadow grass(for bedding), the towel that I picked it up with, seed and bottled water in a dish. I do have some bird background but have never rescued a pigeon before. I have rescued/released 11 baby robins, 2 sparrows, etc., nothing older nor of this breed. PLEASE HELP! Thanks in advance! By the way I live in Northern Ohio. Is climate an issue with them as we approach cooler months?
