How do you feel about breast feeding in public & until what age should kids stop being breast fed? I don't really mind when women breast feed in public as long as they're covered up and don't go around flopping their boobs around like a few women I've seen. I belive that by the age of 2, mothers should officially stop breast feeding their children. If I was a mom I would officially stop at age 1. Some mothers go far enough to breast feed until their child is 5 or 7 which is ridiculous.

What are the benefits of breast feeding? How much more does it help with baby's development and such? I'm 30 weeks pregnant and still don't know if I want to breast feed. Also,if I did breast feed what foods and stuff do you normally have to eat or not eat? Thanks.
What are the rules with breast feeding and drinking alcohol? I turn 21 in a week and I had my son 4 weeks ago, so obviously I'm still breast feeding. How can I start breast feeding if I have no breastmilk? I had my twins on Friday, they were born at 35 weeks by c-section. They are currently at the NICU at the hospital and I would like to take them some breast milk to start feeding them, but I have no breast milk. I have a manual pump that my mom brought me and I tried it but nothing happens. After pumping for a couple of minutes, theres only like 2-3 drops of colostrum. Am I supposed to keep trying until something comes out? Or is there anything I can do to make it start flowing?
How do I know when to stop breast feeding? I currently exclusively breast feed my 4mnth old baby. He was a big baby at birth 10lb12, so larger than the average baby , and Im beginning to wonder if he needs something heavier than breast milk. He seems to be feeding every two hours and still wakes several times in the night for feeding. (although he goes down at approx 7 and then wakes around 2am but then almost every 2hrs again after that) How do I know when to start weaning? Should I switch to formula?
What happens to your breast after pregnancy and breast-feeding? I have been reading about how during pregnancy your breasts will become larger to prepare for the baby. How old is too old to continue breast feeding? I am a stay at home mom and my daughter just turned three. She doesn't want to stop breast feeding, and the only thing negative about it to me is the reactions of others. I heard about La Leche, but it's my own family and friends who seem to pass judgment. ( my husbands family never nursed so they have no idea) I only nurse in my home, and never around others, other than my husband and my other kids. They are 11 and 14.(also were nursed till 12 mo and three years)How old is too old to continue breast feeding?

Would you consider pumping your breast milk is the same as breast feeding? The mothers breast milk is the best source if nutrition for an infant and I wanna be able to give my little one as much nutrition as I can. He has just recently started biting down and is now leaving me with very sore nipples. I, of course, had the knee-jerk reaction the first time it happened and it really scared him. But it seems that he has forgotten all about that. And, I don't really want to scare him again. Any suggestions?
How do vegans feel about breast feeding? I learned recently that the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan is that while neither eat meat, vegetarians are willing to eat eggs and milk, but vegans don't eat any animal products. So I was just wondering how vegans feel about breast feeding. @Invis: Is it your position that if something is unnatural, it is therefore wrong? Or that if something is natural, it is therefore okay? And why do you say that eating the products of other animals is unnatural? How do you distinguish between what is natural and what isn't?
Carrying on with breast feeding when returning to work - how hard is this? How much breast milk should I be feeding my newborn? I am feeding my 6 day old newborn 3 oz of my pumped breast milk every 3-4 hours. After each feeding I pump more. When is a good age to stop breast feeding? I am not asking for myself. I recently saw this woman breast feeding her child. The child had to be at least 2 or 3 years old. I was taken aback a little. The kid could speak full sentences and this lady kept popping out her boob to feed him. So my question is, when is a good age to stop breast feeding? Was that kid too old to still be breast feeding? Or am I just being weird. Let me know. Thanks!

Currently my daughter refuses to drink any kind of baby formula and we have tried a couple of types from Similac. Could it be the type of nipple on the bottle. What do you consider the best thing about breast feeding? Here's one for all you breast feeding mamas out there. What prompted you to want to breastfeed? This is a personal opinion question. I'll post my #1 reason in a few minutes. OK here's mine: aside from the scores of health benefits (to us both) and just the sweetness of holding him and getting to do for him what no one else can; I get to burn at least 500 calories a day sitting on my butt & doing nothing! Now that's a sweet deal!
Why do I get milk from my breast after my child had stopped feeding? My child is now 18 months old and she stopped breast feeding when she was 9 months old. I did not stop giving her but she stopped it on her own. But after that till today every now and then I find milk at my breast ( if I happen to sqeeze it hard). Is this normal or is there anything abnormal I have to worry about? Is it better to visit a gynic doctor or can I relax? Can any body help me please?

When breast feeding, do I need to use special types of bottles? I plan on breast feeding, but I will be going to school full time so I will have the leave the baby with my mom or mother in law sometimes when I go to class. Can anyone recommend a good breast warmer for breast feeding? My wife saw some breast warmers on TV to help her with her breast feeding but we can only find one online by babygoga. Can anyone tell me if these are any good? It would be nice to get some constructive answers rather than being told how stupid we are. It's not to warm up the milk, how stupid do you think we are? It's to help with letting down and can provide relief for tenderness.

Do you think that all mothers are capable of breast feeding successfully? I don't think so, but I am curious to know your opinion. I am a breast feeding, bottle feeding, pumping mom of 2. I am not talking only about biological or medical conditions. I am talking about life experience, time spent struggling, lack of time or money, other kids to look after, not being easy with lactation consultants, and so on the list is long.
How do you feel about breast-feeding in public? I had an argument with a friend about it yesterday. I know women have to do it, but sometime I think it should be limited in public places, especially places where food is served, etc. I don't care if it's in a park or whatever because I have a choice, if I don't like it, I can just leave the park. But if I sit down to eat dinner or lunch somewhere and my meal comes I can't exactly get up and leave my food because the person sitting right next to me is breast-feeding.
Is chocolate milk an okay substitute for breast feeding? I am currently raising a 4 week old baby, and he is one of the many children I am mothering currently. The problem is that I have had so many kids, my breasts are almost finished, they really can't take much more. I've decided against breast feeding this time. I did some research and found out that the chocolate in chocolate milk has many helpful antioxidants, which I think a growing child needs. So I've decided to give my baby a bottle of Nesquik every day. What do you think?
Will breast feeding and supplementing hurt a baby? My wife is breast feeding our son but she isn't producing enough milk. I don't remember feeling this way with my daughter.
Why does one of the milk ducts in my breast show a pinkish color when breast feeding? My daughter is 4 months old and I stopped breast feeding her at 7 weeks old. She has been throwing up all of her formula's since. She has been on like 4 different formulas. She is on Nutramigen now, which is a hypoallergenic formula. She is still throwing this one up but not as much as the others. I was talking to someone and they told me to try breast feeding her a little. Milk is still in my breast and she will take it, but on one of the ducts where the milk is coming out it has a pinkish color. Is this blood or what? Is it ok for her to eat from? She seems to want it but I don't want her to get sick from it either. Does anyone have any suggestion?
How likely is it for me to get pregnant while breast feeding? Hello, I just had a baby a little over 8 weeks ago and I am exclusively breast feeding him. I did however start my period almost 2 weeks ago and my husband and I have not been very careful when we have sex. Since I have started my period, is it more likely that I can get pregnant while I'm still breast feeding? Thanks, Millie
