Information needed about health insurance for my baby!? Hi! I am 6 months pregnant, and looking into options for my little ones insurance. I currently get insurance through my work, which is reasonable. It's currently $30 a week deducted. If I add the baby to my existing insurance, the new weekly deduction will be $180 a month. That's $150 more a week and $600 more a month!!!!! With all the new costs I'm about to incur, I really think this is more than I'll be able to afford. Anyone know if there are better options out there for child coverage?
Can I omit information on a health insurance form? I have been having a hard time getting health insurance in Canada because I have been a carrier of Hep C for 21 years. Even though I have no symptoms and have liver function tests every year that are consistently normal, the companies won't touch me! I am about to have our first baby and would really like coverage for prescription drugs, dental and vision - that's all I need. If I don't put down that I have Hep C, what are the repercussions if I get caught? Will they know anyway? And if anyone knows a company that WILL cover me, with or without a waiver for Hep C related conditions, I will be forever grateful. Thanks all.
World Health Organization and raising a baby? Since I started researching babies (I'm TTC) I've noticed conflicting information between WHO and American Pediatrics Association. Everything the WHO says just seems to make more sense and much healthier, like breastfeeding tips and co sleeping, and circumcision. With that and all the negligence within the health industry, are there any other Americans who also question what the health industry is telling us?
Why is it dangerous to use silver spoon for baby? I came from a country of which giving silver spoon as gift for newborn babies is not a custom (also the usage of the silver teether for baby, etc). I have a 6 mo baby now (still breast fed her). I have received a silver spoon as a gift for my baby daughter, and started using it to feed my baby for the past few days. Only then, I browsed at Yahoo! Answers - and found that there is an open question about the danger of using the silver spoon for baby, without elaborating what is the danger that is lurking. What I want to know is, what is exactly the danger? What harm could it be for the baby in the longer run? I am scared to continue using the spoon, afraid that I would endanger my baby's health.. Could you please give me some information please? Thank you!
Is having a baby detrimental for the mother's health? How bad is having a child for the mother? Women tend to have more problems after giving birth so I was wondering to what extent the mother's health is compromised. I was also quite worried by the fact I have been searching the internet for information on this but everything is about the child. Call me selfish but I think it's a little bit important...

Need some information...? Today I just found out that my baby's umbilical only has two veins. What does this mean as far as the baby's health? What information should I look up? I been looking for information, but I can not hardly find anything on this. If anyone knows a really good website please let me know. Thanks!
health information? I was wondering if it is normal to have pelvic girdle pain during your period. The last time I had this kind of pain was when I was at the end of my pregnancy with my boys. At that time they told me it was because of the weight of the baby, but why would it hurt now? I had c-sections with both, so it really shouldn't hurt, right? Also, I have used the Nuva Ring for three months and no problems, this is my first period after switching to the pill. Does it have to do with being on the pill? I was on the pill before being pregnant with my boys and I don't remember having pelvic girdle pain from that.
need some poodle health information ? My baby, Dolly, died from an enlarged heart. Today I went down to volunteer at a shelter and there was another poodle almost like her with heart problems needing to go to a specialist. I was wondering is this normal in poodles or is this a defect from wrong breeding? It was weird to me because this poodle also had a hernia that they had to fix just like Dolly had. They found hers with I get her neutured. Also is there any medicine they can take to live a longer healthier life if it is caught in time by a doctor?

Stressed women ' are more likely to have a baby girl'? The study is the first to link everyday stress to a baby's sex and bucks the trend for more boys to be born than girls. Researchers matched the gender of more than 6,000 babies with information on their mother's stress levels at the start of her pregnancy, including sleep quality, confidence and ability to cope with everyday tasks. Results revealed that those judged to be stressed were five per cent more likely to have a girl than those deemed relaxed. In contrast, women in Western nations, including the UK, generally give birth to more boys than girls, with 105 boys typically born for every 100 girls. Past studies have also shown the number of boys being born goes down following major political and social upheaval. Writing in the medical journal Human Reproduction, the team from the University of Aarhus in Denmark, said it is unclear why stress skews the sex ratio of babies born, as the gender of a baby is determined by chromosomes in the father's sperm. However, it is possible that high levels of stress hormones may make it more difficult for male embryos to implant and stressed women may be more likely to miscarry male babies. British fertility experts have warned that stress in the womb is linked to health problems in later life including high blood pressure, obesity and diabetes. Worrying during pregnancy may also stunt a child's intelligence.

Pregnant -- still on my mom's health insurance policy... will my baby be covered when he/she is born? I am covered under my mother's health insurance until I am 23 years old. I live on my own and am pregnant. (live in Portland, Oregon) I have heard of a law in Oregon that requires a newborn to be covered under their mother's insuarnce for the first 30 days after they are born. I have been trying to research this but have not found any information on insuarnce coverage for newborns in the state of Oregon at all. Please help.
Do you trust the FDA when it comes to your baby's health? The FDA says BPA is perfectly safe in baby bottles. I recently found out that they got this information from a plastic company and that hundreds of other independant studies find the BPA harmful. The plastic company obviously has something to gain from this. I'm staying BPA free. What about you? I heard a report on the news about the FDA saying it was safe. I'm sure if you do a google search you can find a similar story. Krob8008 - Yes that is the chemical. You can avoid it by using glass bottles OR there are plastic bottles that have "BPA free" right on the packaging.
Would good information change your baby feeding preference? Previous question for a survey was deleted due to too many opinions rather than a direct answer. To eliminate opinions and paragraphs of explanation for or against breastfeeding, I have created a poll to obtain a vote. If anyone wants to contest the validity of any of the facts, please feel free to refrain from strong opinions until after you have researched the studies done by various health organizations. There is no right or wrong answer. Please answer truthfully. How to correct wrong information about mental health, that could have catastrophic effects? I am 21 weeks pregnant and had my first obstetrician appointment today. I was diagnosed with bipolar a year and a half ago, following a breakdown; the diagnosis is contentious, with my now psychiatrist not being sure if I have it or now, thinking it may be post traumatic stress disorder (following a rape and attempted murder on me), or a mild personality disorder. When I became pregnant I was taking Sodium Valproate (Epilim/Depakote), which was stopped as soon as the pregnancy was discovered and high dose folic acid given. My psychiatrist is happy with me, and believes I am doing very well off of meds and hopes I remain stable enough to not have them again when the baby is born - my psychiatric nurse agrees. The obstetrician had barely introduced herself when she started asking me why I was off meds if bipolar. She told me my mental health comes above the baby and I should restart them. I explained that I had been told not to take them and she ignored me. I did admit (which I now realise was a HUGE mistake to having problems with my husband (he's not sure what he wants and yesterday announced he was going to the Canary Islands when I'll be seven months, on his own for a break, which annoyed me). She told me that it was because I was off meds that I wasn't seeing things clearly. She then started questioning me about alcohol and recreational drugs (I don't even drink caffeine because of baby). When I got my notes back they say that I stopped taking my meds on my own volition, that I claimed to not take drugs - but she's not sure if she believes me & that she is passing on her concerns about my non-compliance with meds and possible drug taking to social services. This is scaring me stiff. I've heard of several people whose baby's have been taken at birth by social services after a Dr who doesn't know them makes an allegation and an independent psychiatrist (who doesn't know the patients history) is drafted in. I don't know what to do?

I'm expecting a baby in December, but I have to move overseas by January. Will it effect the baby's health? I currently live in the US, and I have to move for work. Waiting is not an option for me. I'm not sure what to do about items for the baby, because there's no way I can take things I buy with me. Is it safe to travel with a baby under a month? Is it just a matter of getting proper shots and such? And babies definitely get expensive, so I don't want to waste money buying things (especially bigger things: ie. carseat, crib), if anyone knows of a temporary solution.. like renting? is that available some places? Anyway, if anybody knows a little about this area, I'd appreciate information. Thanks! :)

Health insurance for baby and me? We just moved to Illinois ( near St Louis) from California and I'm having a hard time finding insurance. I was on medi-cal in California due to pregnancy being a "pre existing" condition and my husband's insurance wouldn't do anything about it. I keep getting the run around when I call the state insurance out here. I'm just wondering if any of you live out here or have any good information on where I can go or what insurance I can get on for cheap. I'm almost 29 weeks and I need to get into the doctor ASAP! Any information would be extremely helpful! Our income flucuates due to work so I'm hoping we can qualify for it. I've looked into maternity advantage. Have any of you used them or know anyone who has? Mr. Awesome..really? Get a life. Mr. Awesome. I'm married. Worked government jobs and now a stay at home mom with my son. My husband works and after the baby his insurance will cover me. It's people like you who don't deserve the insurance that's given to you.

Will installing new hardwood floors be dangerous to my 4 month old sons health? Hello there, I remember reading somewhere that you should hold off household improvements such as new hardwood floors when you have a young baby. Right now I am living with my in laws and they are thinking of getting hardwood floors. I need to know is this dangerous to my 4 month old son? I’m not sure what is involved in the process of installing hardwood floors or what chemicals are used. Does anyone have any information on this or any articles/WebPages I could read? If I had proof that it was dangerous to my son’s health maybe I could convince them to hold off.
Children's health record book? Hi! I was wondering if you could suggest a journal type book that I can write in doctors appts, immunizations, growth charts, and other health information in for my child? I am pregnant and I would really like to have one for when baby is here!
is swaddling good or bad for baby? My health visitor just told me that new information advises against swaddling newborns as it hampers their startle reflex and when they are too cosy they are less likely to rouse when necessary. I always assumed the opposite with swaddling, that it was beneficial and comforting to the baby. I tried a gro-bag as she suggested but now baby won't settle at night. Anyone else been given this new advice?
Best resource for Pregnant and Parenting Tips? I was searching a best resource where i can get better information on baby health after that i found this link http://www.babyhealthcares.com really nice resource for information on baby health care and parenting guide.
dad's forcing abortion but trying to make shure the baby has no problems? Im 17 and monday i told my dad i was pregnant and we went to the dr. to confirm it and to find out i am only 4 weeks according to ultrasound but from his calculation of my last period i should be 8 weeks...i take remicade every 10 weeks and that could cause major brain damage to the baby...why is my dad so determined to make me get an abortion buy yet he is changing all my insurance so i have maternity, and he is trying to make all these appointments trying to make shure that the baby is ok? According to what my Dr. told my dad i have to wait at least 2 more weeks before i can get the abortion..im hoping my dad calms down and changes his mind...when i asked my mom why my dad is making all these appointments she told me that if their is something wrong with the baby then it will effect my health greatly and i have been doing a lot of research on this and i cant find any information about the baby's health effecting mine... i understand gitting an abortin if the baby is mintaly unstable but not if the baby is healthy....i couldent live with myself if it was helathy...i would rather adopt but my mom says thats the worst felling in the world "to know that you were put up for adoption, and wanting to know why when you get older"...my mom dosent want me to be like her when she had my brother at 17...poor and working all the time, the only difference between us is she had her family for suport i dont.
How old should a baby chinchilla be before you sell? I have a pair of chinches and didn't even know my female was pregnant until I woke up to her giving birth. She had the kits mid April, and I have looked through all of my health/ care books and can't find an estimated age to send them off. I'm just really worried about interbreeding, I've read that could really mess your chinches up. Any information would help. :)
How difficult would it be for my single cousin to adopt a baby? She is 33 years old, a registered nurse, lives in a very family-friendly neighborhood, recently divorced, doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs, has never been arrested or charged w/ a crime, is in excellent health, and can't have a child of her own. Based on this information do u think her chances are good or bad despite the fact she no longer has a spouse?

What are your favourite 3 pregnancy & baby books? My partner and I, am thinking about having our first baby, but we want to be prepared. We are looking to buy a few books that contain information and advice to help us understand more about pregnancy, the birth, mother & baby health, how to prepare your house, and basically everything you need to know and more. Please help :-) Been researching your answers, british people seem to love the 'what to exoect when you're expecting' range of books, but complain that alot of the information is americanised. e.g. doctors examination are different and they describe thing differently. If you have read these books, what do you think? Is there an British book that has a similar format to the 'What to expect' books?
Can anyone out there help me find information on this experiment? Many years ago, I heard about an experiment that was conducted on infants in an orphanage. All of the infants were bathed, fed, had their diapers changed, and received proper medical attention. But the experimenters divided the infants into two groups: while all of them received basic routine care, half of the babies were rocked, held, talked to, sung to, and stroked lovingly. The other half of the babies were left alone in their cribs and were only acknowledged when they needed to be fed, changed, bathed, or given medical care. The babies who received tender, loving care thrived. The babies who were basically ignored declined in health and growth, and most, if not all, DIED. I have searched the internet to find a report on this experiment. It was done a long time ago - probably in the early 1900's. CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELP ME FIND THE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS EXPERIMENT?
Anyone familar wiht Baby bottles made with BPA? Very Interesting Information in which I would like to see others opionions on. health insurance for my unborn child? I am having a baby in April and I am trying to find health insurance quotes but everywhere I look, they want more information than I have (again the baby isn't even born yet). How can I find health insurance quotes for my baby? If it matters, I live in Indiana.
Need help understanding what my health insurance will cover for the birth of my baby? Okay, so i am pregnant and trying to figure out how much money the birth is going to cost. I called the benefits information number, but it confused me even more. So, my inpatient hospital services are covered 20% up to maximum out of pocket: 500$ per member or 1,000$ per family. (Inpatient hospital services includes if i need a c-section, epidural, etc.) So 500$ will cover MY hospital services, and 1,000$ will cover mine AND the baby's services? So she said that i would have to add the baby to my policy AFTER the baby is born. If the baby isnt added until after the birth, then is the baby even covered? (She said something like, you arent billed immediately and it takes a month, so i think baby should be covered?) What if i DO NOT add the baby to my insurance? It is 357$/month extra to add baby to my insurance policy, and it should only be an extra 250$/month to add him/her to my fiance's policy. So if we were to add the baby to my fiance's policy, does that mean we would have to pay out of pocket for all of the baby's hospital services? Thank you so much!
How can I have my wife released from a mental health facility if she and her rights are being violated? I have a concern in reference to my wife. She is bipolar and pregnant which meant that her medication wasn't’t working as well as it should. Due to lack of concentration and focus, I admitted her to a mental health facility so that they may find a way to manage/change her meds. This was over 1 month ago. Since this time, my wholesome Christian wife has been exposed to vulgar language, has picked up profanity, has learned of prostitution and drugs. Worst yet, she has been violated (touched) on 3 occasions. This is absolutely not what I (we) signed up for. Most recently was last week when a patient touched the front of her genitalia. This is absolutely unacceptable! At this point, I decided to have her released. After all, she went in voluntarily. She made the request which meant that an MD had 4 hours to respond. Shouldn't be her decision to make? I arrived and the doctor began looking at me harshly through the window. He came out with a nurse and was instantly agitated stating that he is “tired of having to come up here”. First of all, it is his job. Secondly, he was on staff in the clinic. From what I have seen, much of the staff tends to stay in the office and drink coffee ignoring patients request. They hand them crayons and let them watch TV. This isn't’t therapeutic in my opinion. I fully understand that patients may become stir crazy and want out even if they feel that they are okay. However, I know my wife better than the doctors, better than staff, and better than her family. She is my very best friend. In addition to being my wife, we share everything together. Most importantly, I know her personality and changes in it and I see that she has improved. Back to this doctor. After explaining these concerns the nurse said that she was not violated…that she is lying. I explained that when I arrived that I walked into her room where she was crying to a CA and telling the story. The nurse said “no you didn’t…it never happened”. Now I was lying?? I then asked why that patient was placed on restriction and moved to a different floor unless there were complaints. At which the nurse said that he wasn’t. This patient was obviously very ill and I doubt that he was released. This again was the third time that she has been violated which is why I had her switched from the 3rd to the 2nd floor. The doctor then became combative though I was speaking calmly yet sternly due to the lying accusations. He told me that I had no authority and that he is going to get a court order. I again tried to explain my concerns. I stated that emotionally this has been difficult on her and she is not receiving the treatment that we anticipated. I told them that I know longer wanted her to continue with ECT due to my wife being pregnant. He said that was her decision and not mine. I told him that I would tell her (which she decided to have one more if it meant that she could be released). The MD said if she refused that he could court order that as well and that she is a danger to herself. Not once has my wife attempted suicide. She was depressed a year ago due to our separation and the loss of her father. We now have 2 beautiful little girls and a baby on the way. She would never take her life. And running an electrical current through her brain should be her decision to make. This is a medical clinic…not a prison after all. The doctor became so angry that he walked into the center room with the nurse. He began yelling and pointing to me, speaking to the nurse. Worst yet, he began being very obscene and using profanity about me. I heard him say: ‘F’ this guy, he has no ‘F-ing’ clue what he is talking about. And knocked on the door and said “you do realize this is glass and that I can hear you”. The nurse later said he was speaking to her. This for one wasn’t true. And secondly, by saying that she admitted that he was indeed cursing. This was unprofessional, childish, and disrespectful. What sort of ethics did he learn in med school?? I then mentioned getting an attorney. After that, they took my wife’s 'blue band'. After 30 days, she earned that and had only been outside twice. It was petty and spiteful. She earned that right after a month to once again be a part of the real world as opposed to the lack of reality she has endured. Staff has discussed her treatment with her family when there is no release of information signed by my wife. This is a direct violation of HIPAA. She has asked to speak to her doctor and the social worker said that she was not there…walked into a room…and there we saw her doctor sitting as the door closed. She lied to us yet we have been called liars. My wife has been violated and disrespected. She is easily intimidated so she goes along with much of this out of fear the staff will keep her longer. She and I now feel that she is a prisoner more than a patient. Someone to be a bed filler so the clinic can collect it’s money from the insurance. Her being admitted has even cost us our children. CPS now has them and we cannot get them back as long as she is in there. She can’t even see them now that her blue band was taken away. My wife has been violated and so have her rights. This is all unacceptable and has been a nightmare. I am so regretful for bringing her in and will never make this mistake again. My question is…what can I do to have her released. Do I need to begin contacting an attorney? Do I need to contact the Office for Civil Rights to report the HIPAA violation as well as the Advocacy for Mental Health? I will do whatever I need to in order to protect my wife and prevent anything further to happen to her or her well being. My once innocent and loving Christian wife is being returned to me and our children now somewhat tainted by her experience in this clinic. These memories will always be there and I will forever regret subjecting my wife to this treatment.
I am searching for health info from my daughter's birth mother, is there a way to contact her privately or no? It is regarding an adopted child and I constantly run into roadblocks regarding this. As soon as I mention I am searching for health information, the trail goes cold. I need to know why my daughter's health is the way it is so that I can help her and also so the doctors can have the information that they need to tx her correctly. I know some mothers who have placed their babies for adoption don't want to be contacted. This is not a problem for us, we only need the health information, nothing else.
What is national accreditted online school program? I found a college in Colorado that offer Associates degree in Health information Technology. They are nationally accreditted. They are online school. What do you think, is it good idea to get associates through them or any other national accreditted online schools. I already have Assoicates in Liberal Arts. I wanted to get another Associates degree without leaving the house (perhaps online program) and taking my time, because i have 2 six-month old babies. Any good school you have in mind, i don't $300 credit school. Thanks
500$ is MY out of pocket, my insurance covers 80% up to 500$ (or 1,000$ with baby) then covers 100% after that 500 or 1000 maximum is reached.
Does Mass Health Insurance help members pay to attend school? I'm a mother of a 4 month old baby and I am trying to do an online School Program through Allied Medical School so I can get certified in Medical Coding and Billing. My friends tell me that Mass Health Insurance pays for they're members to attend school. I've tried looking on their website for information but haven't found anything yet. Is this true? If so what do I need to do so i can get this done.
Lactose-intolerant baby unable to breastfeed? I have a friend with an almost 3 week old baby girl. Her baby was born full-term and didn't seem to have any health problems. However the baby kept spitting up and vomiting up feeds. She's only just gone back up to her birth weight. She was having wet nappies but very few dirty nappies. My friend has been frantic. The doctor told her a week ago to start supplementing her feeds with formula but the baby's reflux and vomiting got worse. The doctor then diagnosed the baby as Lactose-intolerant and told her to switch to a soy formula. My friend was told to stop breastfeeding as even without any dairy or lactose in her diet, the small amount of lactose in the breast milk would affect the baby. My friend is very distraught about having to stop breastfeeding. Her baby is now gaining weight but is still suffering from reflux. I've had trouble finding information on babies who can't have breast milk due to lactose intolerance. I also find it odd that there would be any lactose in the breast milk if the mother was not consuming any dairy. Could the doctor be wrong? Has anyone else had this experience?
Health insurance and deductibles? Im 14 1/2 weeks pregnant with my second baby. I have health insurance and my copay is 60.00 per visit. My doctor is now having me pay 70.00 per visit that is being paid towards my deductible, which is 350.00. What happens once I reach my deductible in August. The baby isn't due until November. Am I going to need to pay the 60.00 for each visit after I meet my deductible. Or am I done with making co-pays? Any information will help. Thanks in advance!

Illegal immigrants bankrupting local health care? Letter in a California newspaper. I work in a local hospital. When gathering statistics for a report recently, I collected information from our maternal infant floor for three random days. During that time, 67 babies were born. All but three were born to mothers with Latino surnames. Of the 65 mothers, 46 were listed as single — not married. With the exception of three mothers, every single one of those mothers were being paid for by MediCal. In other words, they were on public assistance. Each of those babies born will attend public schools. Each of those babies will also be on public health insurance. It is unusual to hear English spoken in my hospital. Our hospital provides health care to anyone who shows up at the door. Those people rarely have insurance and because of this we have been in danger of closing our doors for decades. Much, if not most, of our financial problems are due to illegal immigrants.
I'm 38 and have type 2 diabetes and I want to have a baby.? I have one doctor saying that it would be fine and another saying it wouldn't be a good idea. My husband and I would like to have a child and I'm totally confused. If i dont have physician's permission, my husband is not willing to risk my health. Does anyone have any information about diabetes and pregnancy or are familiar with a good website that will give me good information? Thank you, Lani
Self tanning creams while breastfeeding? A health risk? I've never used self-tanning creams, but am very fair and no longer wish to bask in the sun without UV protection. But I'm breastfeeding my baby and wonder whether the creams might get into my bloodstream and pose a health risk for my tot. Does anyone know where I might find information about this?
Question about birth weight, and health of babies born before 37 weeks.? OK so I am asking because I have had some complications come up with my blood pressure and was diagnosed with pregnancy induced hypertension today- it is very possible to turn into preeclampsia because my protein levels are above average however not enough to diagnose pre-e. in a 24 hr. urinalysis less than 150 is normal and anything more than 300 is mild preeclamsia- mine was 224 I will be 30 weeks on friday, I have been put on bed rest and weekly appointments as well as an ultrasound on friday to make sure that our little girl is developing as she should. The Dr. told me that our goal right now is to get to 34-36 weeks and then they may induce depending on the situation with my blood pressure and the progress of preeclampsia. He also informed me that they will most likely not allow me to go all the way to my due date and would likely be induced by 38 weeks. I am just trying to get information about premature birth- I would love everything to be natural but I am accepting things as they come and acknowledge that Dr.s are doing this for the safety of not only me but my baby as well. So my questions are. . . What week did you deliver in? How much did the baby weigh? How was the health- NICU Stay?? How long were both of you in the Hospital and did the baby get to go home with you? what are the long term health issues you have had to deal with? Thank you ahead of time:) ps do you think there is a link between higher birth weight and less time spent in the hospital?
Does anyone have any information on Zoloft and pregnancy? I have been on Zoloft for 10 years on and off. I am 20 weeks pregnant, and a month ago, I had all intentions of weaning myself off the Zoloft, which I did. The past 2 weeks have not been pleasant. I have major anxiety about everything, been randomly crying, unable to sleep more than 5-7 hours a night and wake up every hour on the hour. When it gets dark outside, I begin to get nervous and upset, it's hard to fall asleep and stay asleep, I am no longer interested in watching tv or listening to the radio, I don't want to leave the house, etc. etc. Worse of all, I wasn't even interested in finding out the sex of my baby (it's a boy). I met with a mental health clinician and she suggested I start back up with 25mg/day. I was on 50mg/day. She says the stress I am experiencing could be just as harmful, if not worse, than going back on the meds. I don't want to harm my baby, but I want to be happy about this pregnancy and I want to feel like me again. Suggestions are appreciated.
If a woman has her baby at home? Or on the way to the hospital, etc... but somewhere outside the "official hospital area" How would she go about getting the birth certificate? Just take her baby to the maternity ward at the closest hospital? The Health Department? I would assume that someone somewhere would weigh the baby and write down times, names, etc according to the mother's recollection? Where would one find information on this type of thing? Thx for looking. Ps this is a more/less THEORETICAL situation: I do happen to know a woman who had her baby (18 or so years ago) in a parking lot on the way to the hospital... I don't know what actually happened as far as all the "documents" go though.
I need advice i dont know which career path? Im a CMA and i wanted to do LVN program which i can do but the problem is it is a 8am-5pm class schedule i have work i always wanted to be a nurse and i will also be having a baby boy in oct. should i do the LVN program or should i do the HIT (health information technology) which offers evening classes? i already have one but i want to do more, her father watches her or my father my dad doesnt work.
I am about ready to give up on ever having a baby....? I have been told that I have endometriosis and have known this since I was 21, I am now 28. I have never had an endoscopy, this was just based on my symptoms. When I found out, my ex-husband and I tried for a year and a half with no luck. A few years after our relationship ended, I was engaged again and he and I tried a year with no luck as well. Both of these men have gotten other women pregnant before and after my relationships with them. I have recently seen a doctor and he says that this concerns him. That if I decide I want to try anytime in the future, he would skip making me wait a year of trying and immediately try fertility drugs, and then surgery if needed. Also suggesting that I not try after 35, because of health risks for the baby and mother. All of this information if very intimidating and depressing, because I feel compressed into a time frame. I am completely open to adopting, but having a child, of course, has always been a dream and my maternal clock is pounding. I guess I am just wanting to hear other's experiences and maybe a little support on how I need to approach this situation and how not to get get discouraged. I am in a loving committed relationship with a wonderful man, but it has only been about 6 months that we have been together.
Is there currently a class action lawsuit against the makers of Zoloft for women who took it while pregnant? I heard that there is currently a class action lawsuit against the makers of zoloft, for women who took this drug during pregnancy and their babies were born with health problems. But I cannot find any information on this? Does anyone know about this lawsuit and where I can read more information about it? I prefer NOT to read this from a money hungry attorney's or Lawyers website, I would like good solid public information if possible. Thanks so much. Well, I do know that taking zolft is associated with a serious lung and heart condition in a percentage of babies whose mothers are taking it while pregnant, that is a fact, that was on Canadian TV. But, I haven't heard about the lawsuit.
please help !!where can i go to get a cesarean my consultant knows nothing about my unborn babies health risks? i have been going round incircles with my consultanat as there are risks with this pregnacy one being that i should not go past my due date (risk still born)and many ending up in emergency c sections , he is refusing as he does not have enough information as it is so rare, which is really frustrating and on top of it i suffer from secondary tokophobia, he has told me to go back to my doctors for them to refer me to another hospital i live in south coast and i really need to know if there is a hospital which will do the cesarean it should not really be cesarean on maternal request because there are risks involved just the doctors have no previous experience of the problem. please help to mummy of 2 i didn't say high risk, but there is failure to dilate failure for my placenta to react to induction drugs risk of trauma to the brain if baby is not born in good enough time risk of stillborn should i go past my due date and it is very rare 1 in 4000 , they know very little about it here in the u.k the consultanat also admitted he found hardly any information, so why should i risk mine and my babies life . also it is hereditory and my nan nearly died after giving birth to my uncle wit the same condition.
Is this true or is she giving my sister in law negative information on her pregnancy? My sister in law is 37 weeks pregnant and going to have a c-section due to other health related issues..Well this is her first baby and her friend told her when she goes into the c section that she can request for her doctor to do a little tummy tuck while stitching her up..She said its not a big tummy tuck but they can do it while stitching her..Is this true or is it a bunch of bologna? I have never heard this and im on my 4th pregnancy..I dont want her to feel stupid asking if this isnt true,i told her not to but she said shes going to...
Does there exist unbiased information about cow's milk? It seems people are either for or against milk. Isn't this a false dichotomy...? Who do you believe? I was wondering if there exists any unbiased scientific information about health and cow's milk at all... It seems that a lot of pro milk information is funded by the milk industry. On the other hand we have the argument "milk is meant for baby cows". Of course without reference to research this is a nonsense argument; it proves nothing about whether or not it is healthy for grown ups... Some anti milk sites seem to be too much of a conspiracy theory against the milk industry to believe. They want you to believe milk is pure poison made up of tons of hormones and filled with pus. Is there a site with information that does not want to convince you of either side, and instead presents facts pro and contra and how credible they are? Neutral and unbiased scientifically based information?
Why would anybody have their new-born baby or child vaccinated????? By Dr. Aisha Hamdan “Immunizations the best thing to protect your child from a variety of diseases.” You hear this from your doctor from the media, from the brochures in the clinic, from your friends. But, did you ever stop to think twice about what it all means? Did you ever look deeper into the issue and the other side of the story? Well let’s read on….. Your child is just born and one of the first things you do is call the clinic to schedule an appointment for your first “well-baby” visit. During the visit, after about 1 or 2 months, you can expect your baby to be weighed, measured, and put through excruciating pain from several shots in the leg. Your baby has just received his first immunization (or vaccination) shots and you allow it to happen without even questioning. It is just assumed that your pediatrician has your best interests in mind and that immunizations are the best thing to protect your child from a variety of diseases. You hear this from your doctor, from the media, from the brochures in the clinic, from your friends. You figure that the pain your baby has just gone through is worth the protection that he receives. But, did you ever stop to think twice about what it all means? Did you ever look deeper into the issue and read the other side of the story? (The one that is not provided by your doctor). Did you know, for example, that immunizations may cause serious side effects in children, even as serious as death? Did you know that immunizations actually weaken the immune system and make it work less effectively and efficiently? Were you aware that immunizations contain harmful chemicals that are not indigenous to the body? Did you know that your child might still contract a disease even if he or she has been immunized against? If you have a new baby, a young child or are considering having children in the future, these are concerns that you want to investigate and learn more about. Many parents have, and they have decided NOT to immunise their children. Let us look into this matter more closely and also consider it form an Islamic perspective. The health and well being of your child may be at stake. Myths and Realities Myth 1. “Vaccines are effective at protecting people from diseases” Reality: Many studies in the medical literature have documented vaccine failure. Measles, mumps, small pox, polio and Hib outbreaks have all occurred in vaccinated populations. In 1989, for example measles outbreaks occurred in schools with vaccination levels greater than 98% (Centres for Disease Control). The World Health Organization has actually found that a person who is vaccinated for measles has a 15 times greater likelihood of contracting the disease than a person who is not. The effectiveness of the whooping cough (pertussis) vaccine has been reported to be around 50%. In an incident in Kansas in 1986, 90% of pertussis cases were found to have been vaccinated. In another study of rubella, 36% of adolescent females who had been vaccinated against the disease lacked evidence of immunity by blood tests. Following the introduction of the diphtheria vaccine in various countries, incidents of the disease actually increased phenomenally. In France, there was a 30% increase; in Hungary, a 55% increase; and in Geneva, Switzerland, there was a tripling of the disease. All of this occurring after the introduction of mass compulsory vaccinations in those countries. In Australia, where vaccinations are not mandatory and only about ½ of the population receives them, the rates of illness are the same for both the vaccinated and non-vaccinated groups. What all of these facts point to (and there are many more related to this) is that vaccinations are not as effective as people are made to believe. A person who has been vaccinated has no guarantee that he will not contract the disease and chances are that if he does, it will be at a later age when the consequences are much more serious. The truth of the matter is that when immunity to disease is acquired naturally (such as through breastfeeding or through contact at a young age), the possibility of re-infection is only 3.2%. If the “immunity” comes from the artificial means of vaccinations, the chance of re-infection is 80%. In any epidemic, only a small percentage of the population actually contracts the disease, many of them being naturally immune. If a person who has been vaccinated does not contract the disease, this proves nothing. Chances are that even without the vaccination, he or she would not have gotten the disease any way. Myth 2: “Vaccines are the main reason for declines in disease rates” Reality: Most declines in diseases occurred before the introduction of mass immunizations. Infectious disease deaths in the United States and England declined an average of 80% prior to vaccinations. The British Association for the Advancement of Science found that childhood diseases decreased by 90% between 1850 and 1940, long before mandatory vaccination programs. European countries that refused immunizations for small pox and polio saw these epidemics end along with countries that had mandated them. Other infectious diseases continued to decline even in the absence of vaccines for them. This included declines in tuberculosis, chicken pox, scarlet fever, typhus, typhoid and plague. So what, you may ask, were the reasons for the decrease in diseases at this point in time. Research has found that improved sanitation and hygienic practices; along with improvements in diet and other health factors were the main contributing factors in eradication many diseases. A recent report by the World Health Organization supported this fact. The report found that “disease and mortality rates in third world countries have no direct correlation with immunization procedures or medical treatment, but are closely related to the standard of diet and hygiene.” What this means is that it is not as important to be immunized as it is to eat healthily and maintain personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness. Myth 3: “Vaccines are completely safe for children.” Reality: Vaccines are much more dangerous than we are even aware of. This is information that you will probably not receive from your doctor and if you child does have a reaction, it is unlikely that your doctor will report it. In 1986, the United States Congress created The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, which acknowledges the reality of vaccine-caused injuries and death. This law requires doctors to provide parents with information about the benefits and risks of childhood vaccines prior to vaccination and also requires doctors to report vaccine reactions to federal health officials. The Food and Drug Administration, which monitors this (along with the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention), acknowledged that 90% of doctors do not report vaccine reactions as required by law. More than 12,000 adverse reactions to vaccines are reported each year. If the rate of under-reporting is considered, this number should be closer to 120,000. Vaccine-related deaths occurring each year may be over 1000. The compensation portion of the Vaccine Injury Act awards up to $250,000 if a child dies from a vaccination or millions in dollars to cover lifelong medical bills, pain and suffering in the case of a brain-damaged child. By 1997, more than $802 million had been awarded for hundreds of injuries and deaths (5000 cases, 700 of which were deaths). Thousands of cases are still pending and the estimated future liability for the government exceeds $1.7 billion. A portion of the money that parents pay for vaccinations goes to this congressional fund, which basically means that you are paying insurance each time your child is vaccinated. In many cases, vaccinations are more serious than the diseases they are meant to protect a person from. The pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine is probably the most dangerous. The chances of suffering a serious adverse reaction to DPT vaccines are 1 in 1750, while the chances of dying from pertussis each year are 1 in several million. A study at UCLA found that 1 in 13 children had persistent high pitched crying after the DPT shot. One in 700 had convulsions or shock, which may cause learning disabilities or brain damage. Vaccinations, in general, have been linked to disorders of the blood, brain, skin, and nervous system. This includes encephalitis (central nervous system disorder, brain damage), paralysis, nerve inflammation, diseases of the lymph glands, skin disorders, allergies, arthritis, cancer. National and International studies have shown a link between vaccinations and SIDS (sudden Infant Death Syndrome). One study found that the peak incidence of SIDS occurred at the ages of 2 and 4 months, the time when the first routine vaccinations are given. Another study concluded that ½ of SIDS cases (2500 of 5000) are related to vaccinations. In the mid-70’s, when Japan raised their vaccinations age from 2 months to 2 years, the incidence of SIDS dropped dramatically. The disturbing fact in the United State is that coroners refuse to check the vaccination state of SIDS victims, which makes it difficult to prove many cases. Other important truths to consider include the fact that vaccinations actually weaken the immune system rather than strengthen it. They only focus on one aspect of the immune system, which interferes with the body’s ability to initiate a “generalized response”. Only that one particular aspect of the system will function. What this means is that the vaccinations produce immune suppression which contributes to an increased susceptibility to other diseases and infections. This may explain why the rate of childhood illness has actually increased rather than decreased in this society. Vaccinations also contain additional chemicals such as formaldehyde, mercury (thimerosal), and aluminum phosphate, which are extremely toxic substances that can lead to hazardous effects. Microscopic doses may lead to cancer, neurological damage, and even death. Several of these may accumulate in the body such that the lethality increases as the number of vaccine increase. And the story continues. This is only the tip of the iceberg and there is a larger amount of information available for those who wish to learn more (see websites listed below). It is important that parents become educated and knowledgeable about immunizations so that they can make an informed choice rather than be manipulated by the medical establishment. It is important that parents become educated and knowledgeable about immunizations so that they can make an informed choice rather than be manipulated by the medical establishment P.S. Obviously none of the 3 first people who answered this question are too ignorant to even read past the first sentence- It would be impossible to have answered this question in 30 seconds if you had read the info- HEY PEOPLE THOUGHT ASBESTOS WAS SAFE FOR YEARS TOO AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!

Whats the deal with health visitors? My sisters health visitor has no children and gets her information from bookson how to be "the perfect mother" Who are they to say what is right for your baby especially when inexperienced!! They seem judgemental and over - react at everything..... Anyone feel the same way? I'm glad someone mentioned Haringey...... my point exactly.... is someone in it for the money.... hmmmm I wonder
Are mothers losing their instincts? Do you feel that moms nowadays are losing their maternal instincts? Doing what they are told to do, not what they feel they should do? I started thinking about this when I visited a friend the other day. She is a single mother and lives with her parents. I can tell she really loves her son, but she can NOT function without her mom. She makes all of her parenting decisions based on what her mom says. I feel that with all the baby advertisements and outdated health information, woman (and men) are raising their kids they way they THINK they should, not they way they feel they should. Thoughts? I agree-from the beginning some woman don't listen to their instincts, but won't they eventually lose them if they aren't using them I wonder...
What concerns should I have if any about high blood pressure and pregnancy? My blood pressure is slightly elevated. I'm concerned that if I got pregnant that it would affect the baby negatively. If there are any health professionals out there who can give me sound advice on this please respond to how high blood pressure would affect a pregnancy and should I be concerned and what are the problems that could/would occur. I hav no knowledge so any information would be helpful Thanks.
