Hey Mom's Save your Heinz Baby Food Labels and Mail them in...? I just stumbled upon this today when I was looking for menu ideas for my 9 months old son and I thought I would share... http://www.heinzbaby.com/english/save/ If you save your Heinz baby food labels and box tops Heinz will donate money to the Children's Miracle Network Hospital Foundation. I pulled off the labels from all the Heinz baby food jars in my recycling bin and I have 20 already so I figured I would save them up and mail them in...it's a good cause. So maybe all you Moms out there might want to participate! Happy label saving!! :-)
I have a question about Heinz baby food jars? I was buying baby food the other day and I saw the big jars of Heinz veggies and fruits. The lable looks the same as the small jars but the ages are different (For example a small jar of sweet potatoes was for 6 months and the large jar of sweet potatoes was for 9 months). Are they the same? Do they only label them like that because they think a 6 month old can eat a small jar and a 9 month old can eat a large jar? Sorry this may seem like a dumb question but it would be cheaper for me (and leave me with more cupboard space) if I bought the larger ones. Thanks :)
Why is Heinz baby have a glossy texture? I was wondering why Heinz baby food has a glossy texture, and what is added to make it like that? Sorry, Why does Heinz baby food have a glossy texture, my mistake.
12 month baby girl eating Heinz baby food? My little girl is almost 12 months. She is breastfed every 2 hours and eats Heinz 6 times a day. I am in the progress of weaning her to a cup and feeding her 6 times daily because she will only take maximum 2 tablespoons per feed and as recommended by my doctor and health nurse that if she doesn't take any more than 2 tablespoons then increase her feed 6 times daily. She lost 80grams for 2 months and in 1 month after she only gained half (40grams). As for the food, I try to feed her meat such as chicken fish pork lamb etc as well as other fruit and veggies such as banana pears carrot peas etc. But most of the time she avoids eating them and would not open her mouth to eat. She needs to eat and as she avoids the food I give her Heinz to replace 'food'. The variety of Heinz she eats include veggies and meat. So my worry is that is it still alright if my girl eats Heinz all the time, like 6 times a day? I am also giving her meat and veggies as well but most of the time she rejects and takes Heinz. I am going to the nurse next week to see how her weight is going but just worried about her food eating habit. She started on Heinz at about 8 months (late bloomer) until now which is 1 week till 12 months. Please help. I need some suggestions.

Is Heinz baby food(bottled food - like egg custard and vanilla custard) available in Chennai?.? Your answers would be valuable as we are travelling to India with our baby for the first time. my daughter is not eating the 8 month heinz baby food? she just turned 8 months old on the 27th. She was eating everything from the 6 month stage but now I'm guessing because its thicker in consistency she wont take it especially the meat ones like from "moms recipe" she will eat the vegetables because its still smooth. she vomits as soon as she takes the first bite and when i say vomit i mean like 2 feet across the room. she has one tooth coming in at this moment. does anyone else experience this? As of right now she will eat those baby mum-mums arrowroot cookies but that's it for the solid foods. i dint know what to do and if this is a problem. maybe shes just a late bloomer or a little stubborn. what can i introduce to her to get her eating more thicker food. i have tried making my own baby food but she wont eat it only pureed fruit that i make she will eat
Baby Food- Heinz Products? Has anyone bought and fed their babies with heinz products? I am tempted to buy some small tins of food from the supermarket as they seem to have some great flavours but so many people say that Heinz is the worst culprit when it comes to sugar/salt content etc. (even though it claimd to have no additives on the label) Does anyone had experience of eating these tins of food and have they found them to be yummy or taste processed?
Can I still feed my 4mths old baby gerber/heinz after 1-2hrs of feeding her rice cereal from the bottle? I can only feed her for breakfast everyday as she would sleep after bath and wake up at night so I can't find other time to feed her lunch or dinner except milk.I hardly wake her up as she would just end up crying and refusing anything.Anyway which one is better between gerber and heinz baby food in jar?

Stage two baby food - Hipp, Organix, Heinz or other? We use Organix for our 6 month old's cereal but we can't find any jarred food done by them so we use Hipp for the jarred food. I prefer Organix because I compared the first rice cereals and the Organix wholegrain rice cereal was so much nicer compared to the Hipp stage one rice cereal. Which one do you prefer?
Heinz baby jar. Found something disgusting inside!!!!!? I "was" a big fan of Heinz baby food product and my baby loved them. We been feeding our daughter Heinz food jar products for 1 year now. However, I fed my baby Sweet potato jar (big jar) like usual and discovered something inside today. First I thought the food was frozen in ice because I had it in fridge. I pour all out in bowl and I discovered a PLASTIC WRAP in the food! It was huge piece stuffed 1/3 in bottom of the jar!!!! We got disgusted, furiously shaken and wondered what else we've been feeding our baby for the past whole year!!!!!!!!!!! If they missed this whole big plastic piece in the jar, whatelse could have been in there smaller, that we haven't seen??!!! We got disgusted and had to throw away all the Heinz product. If you were me, WHAT WILL YOU DO?!!!!!! I strongly suggest everyone to TRIPPLE Check the food before you feed your baby. funny when you read lebel on Heinz jar, it says: "*Triple-Tested: QUALITY, SAFETY & NUTRITIONS" I guess that don't mean much no more to me!!!!!!! I still got the jar and .. yah.. plastic wrap in it. LOL Cuz i'm in advertising, I even took the pictures and made my own commercial ad - "What's in Heinz?", and wrote an email to Heinz to make my day better. LOL And yes, I do cook some food for my baby and my husband only feed her jar on-the-go. We will go Organic from now on. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3097/2604520546_c7dd3944a2_o.jpg

When can you start feeding your baby solid food? By solid food I mean baby rice that you mix with water or made-up formula, and those Heinz pureed fruit jars. I am just a little confused as a lot of books and websites I have been reading give contradicting advice on this subject. Some say 4 months, others say 6. Also on the packets of the rice cereal and the Heinz jars I have purchased, it says from 4 months. I was just wondering what you did with your babies?

Which brand of baby food do you recommend the most? I want to know which brand of baby food is the best... what do you recommend the most and why? Gerber, Earths Best, Beech Nut, Heinz, or other?
difference in these baby foods? Hi, for the past 3 months we have been buying our son Heinz baby food - organic or regular - mostly the beginner stages ones. I have noticed though that the Gerber is much cheaper and was considering purchasing this one sometimes instead. I can't really figure out what the difference in the 2 names are. They are both brand names (I think) So why is the Gerber so much cheaper? Should I stick with the Heinz? I also am considering making my own baby foods - I heard it was even more cost effective!
BABY FOOD what do u think?? Hi all. I have a question about baby food. My son is 7 mths old. Heres an example of what he eats in a day. For breakfast; 1 Weetabix with full fat milk and 7 oz bottle. For lunch, Half jar Heinz/SMA baby food and 7 0z bottle For Tea, 1 Lega mixed in baby milk with some fruit puree from jars same as above and 7 oz bottle Before bed, 7 oz bottle My mum says i should start him on potatoes and other food like ours. I dunno tho. Some people say that the jar baby food is bad for babies but if so why do they sell them???? I forgot to say that he has a petite filous yougurt between lunch and tea. Will drink some diluted orange. Will not drink just water have been tryin for months. Do u think his diet is ok?? He has plenty of poo and wet nappies. Any advice b great. 1st time mum Ps his baby milk is Aptimel follow on for 6 mths onwards.
making your own baby food? Do you make your own baby food? Why or why not? Thanks :) *I am just starting solids with my baby and just curious what other parents do. I have been using the Heinz baby beginner vegetables so far.
Baby food - Do you follow recommended guidelines..? My son is 10 months old, and for the last week I have been feeding him Heinz 1 + baby food as it seemed to fill him up a lot more, and he happily chewed the chunks of pasta that were in it. He hasn't choked on it, and nor did he get a rash or a stomach ache. Being that he is nearly 11 months old, and eats me out of house and home, I also take snacks around everywhere I go.. Usually just milk arrowroot biscuits, but sometimes it can be Heinz fruit sticks.. So, do you feed your child the recommended age food, or do you allow them to experiment with the higher age food, even if they only have 4 weeks to go or seem ready for it..?

HOME COOKED BABY FOOD OR SOLD BABY FOOD? I have a 8months old baby, I only feed her solid food like cow and gate dinners or Heinz or HIPP. Because i only eat one solid meal a day, i deceived to buy her solid instead of preparing them myself. is that ok? i have never made any home cooked food to feed her so will it be a problem when the times come to feed her my own food, will she be choosy cos she is already used to the cow and gate solid and not mine?
I got a letter from heinz this morning.....? Now i asked a question a month or so ago asking whether or not i should write a letter of complaint to the national dairy association sending me a letter telling me i should be weaning my 3 month old onto cows milk (i ended up sending one, not that they'll read it or care). Now this moning i got a letter and free magazine from the heinz baby food manufacturers suggesting strongly that my 4 month old should be starting on their new reduced sugar "mothers own" baby food, this is starting to really p*ss me off and have no way to stop these people getting my name, address and information from the hospital i gave birth in. Im just wondering has everyoneone else been hounded by these companies with misinformation about their babies, and what did you do? Write a complaint? Ignore them, or blindly follow their advise?

Baby food? I was at my mothers the other day and was going to feed my daughter, when i opened the jar of Heinz green beans the food was in a big clump (looked like a sponge) and water all around it, i stuck the spoon in to mix it and it turned all clumpy and gross looking, i didnt feed my daughter it, but i was wondering if anyone has ever experienced this..what is the best brand of baby food to go with? the expirey date is for 2009 so its not old, and i had broken the seal to it so it couldnt have been contaminated..any ideas of what happend? should i stay with the Heinz? just looking for some input, thanks :) i have given her green beans before, and normaly this is not what they look like.. i thought about calling but then they will ask me for the # on the jar and i had thrown it away, besides they will send me coupons but im not sure if i want to stay with Heinz now after this experience.
Where can i buy bulk baby food ? where can i get bulk baby food from near Campbelltown NSW ? i normally buy heinz... any help appreciated :)
How Do I Get My 13 Month Old To Eat Food? My 13 month old daughter will not eat ANYTHING except Alphaghetti and her morning Heinz cereal. She won't eat baby food, she won't eat people food. The only thing I can get her to eat more than 2 mouthfuls of is Alphaghetti and I really don't want her to eat that for lunch and dinner every day. She'll take her whole milk just fine, but that can't be filling her up! I'm afraid she's hungry all the time. Is there a food out there that ALL babies like? What can I feed her that she will eat?? I've tried everything...other pastas to sandwiches to hot dogs to those Gerber TV dinners.... I don't know what else to do!
I heard that the number 7 is the # to look for, does that go for any plastics with the #7 on it? I have noticed after looking through my baby bottles that not only the baby bottles have the #7 recycle triangle on them.I found that Heinz baby foods have that # too.Should we not be buying these products either?
My baby has no teeth yet... what else can I feed her? I want to teach my baby to self feed but all I am feeding her is Heinz pureed baby food. She has no teeth yet. Is there anything else I can feed her. I want to start her on the Stage 3 baby foods but it has chunks and I am worried about choking. She is 8 months and no teeth yet. Do I have to wait until she has teeth to feed her anything else but the Stage 1 and 2 baby foods?
Is it dangerous to switch the brand of baby food for your 9 month old baby? My daughter has been on the same brand of babyfood for the past 6 months (Heinz)..and she just recently stopped being interested in any veggies..She's fine with the mixed food/and loves fruit..but she has too much cases of diarhea from the fruit. So I was thinking about trying a different brand..maybe she will like it better. But I am concerned this may cause diarhea..has anyone switched food..and what happened?
How many of us have fed our babies junk food disguised as baby food? Lucky for me & mine, my Mum & Ma-in-law banned me from giving my baby anything processed till he was three...but this is awful... LONDON (Reuters) – Some baby foods contain as much sugar and saturated fats as chocolate biscuits or cheeseburgers, a British food pressure group said on Monday. Publishing results of a survey of more than 100 foods for babies and toddlers, the Children's Food Campaign said Farley's rusks were 29 percent sugar and some Cow & Gate toddler biscuits contained trans fats, which have been linked to heart disease. "The results of this survey are staggering," said Christine Haigh, spokeswoman for the CFC. "Many foods marketed for babies and young children are advertised as healthy. In reality, in terms of sugar and saturated fat content, some are worse than junk food." The CFC survey found that 100g of Farley's Original Rusks, made by Heinz, contained 29g of sugar, more than that contained in the same weight of some chocolate digestive biscuits. Heinz Toddler's Own Mini Cheese Biscuits contained 7.3g of saturated fat per 100g, more than the 6.7g in an equal weight piece of a McDonald's quarter pounder burger with cheese. Cow & Gate, which makes a range of baby and toddler formula milks and foods, responded to the survey by halting production of its baby biscuits. "In discussion with the Food Standards Agency we have already taken the decision to discontinue our baby biscuits, when we became aware of the presence of hydrogenated fat, which contains a very small amount of trans fats," a spokeswoman said. Heinz defended its Farley's rusks as an "ideal weaning food for babies from around four months." "Farley's Rusks have been enjoyed by generations of babies, and some adults too, for 120 years," it said in a statement. "Enriched with vitamins and minerals, the unique Farley's Rusk recipe has remained virtually unchanged." The CFC, part of food and farming campaign group Sustain, said it examined the nutritional content of 107 baby and toddler foods available in UK supermarkets in March. It found only half the products were low in saturated fat, salt and sugar, as defined in Britain's Food Standards Agency guidance.
how old was your baby when you started giving him/her any type of food? hey everyone, my daughter is 2 months. don't worry i'm not even considering giving her food yet. i have seen the heinz jars of fruit puree and a few others that say 4 months. just wondering if anyone gave their baby any sort of food at 4 months. i will talk to my doctor of corse when she gets to 4 months just curious as to what other people have done. and if your son/daughter did have food at 4 months what was it? thank you first time mother to little angel
Have you ever tried eating baby food? Normally I make all my baby's food or just give him what we're eating mashed up. We went away last weekend though and I thought I should bring some jars of food because the refrigeration situation was iffy and I couldn't prepare my own food. Anyway, I gave him some of the baby food one time when the food at the resort wasn't prepared yet and for kicks tried it myself. It was disgusting! I had to throw it out straight away. I opened a few more jars and they were all disgusting too. The brands were Heinz and Gerber - some vege and one fruit w/ oatmeal. So my questions. Have you tried tasting baby food, what did you think? Have you found any jarred food that is even remotely like real food? It would be nice to know for future holidays.
Which Stage 3 baby foods are the least chunky, the thickest, and easiest to transition with? I am looking for Stage 3 baby foods that have the smallest chunks in them or are very thick. I know a few brands have very large chunks in them or long noodles that don't seem appropriate for a baby just trying to adjust to chunkier foods. For people that have tried different brands of baby foods, which one seemed to make a smooth transition from Stage 2 to Stage 3? Any description of the foods, brands, flavors, etc would be helpful. Here is a list of some baby food brands that I know of: Beech Nut, Earths Best, Gerber, Del Monte (Natures Goodness), Heinz.
What age did you let your baby have rusks? My son has just turned 5 months a couple of days ago and i have not started solids or baby cereals yet as am waiting til 6 months.,, BUT he is teething and i bought some heinz baby teething rusks and let him have one today and it was BRILLIANT he knew exactly what to do with it. He chewed away and sucked it.. But it started peeling into his mouth and i wondered weather he should be having them when he hasnt started food yet?
Should I increase the amount of my baby food/milk? My baby, a boy, 6 months and 1 week old, started eating solid at 4,5 months. At the moment he eats 2 solid (puree) per day (1 jar of Heinz puree for 2 feeds). Each solid continued with 120 ml of formula milk. I feed him every 4 hours (I have been trying to keep it like this). Except at night, he sleeps for 6-7 hours then I give him 180 ml of milk. Is just that it is so hard to make him wait for 4 hours between feed. I'm stressing because he is so chubby for his age, and I dont want him to be an obese child... But it is so sad for me to watch him crying... Should I just make it 3 hours instead of 4 hours? FYI, when he's born, his weight was 3.96kg (almost 4kg), and now his weight is 9.5 kg he is 68 cm tall at the moment
Baby is still refusing food!? I'm at the end of my tether. My son is 9 and half months old and breastfed. He's been eating OK for the last few months but has suddenly started refusing all food. He's never been keen on lumpy food and finger foods (has only just discovered bread and butter and rusks) but would usually scoff purees quite happily, especially sweet potato and banana purees. He has both home made and jar food (I've tried pureeing our own food but he won't eat it.) Today all he has eaten is a tiny amount of Cow & Gate Cereal this morning and I managed to force a small amount (literally a few spoonfuls) of baby pasta bake (Heinz) down him at lunchtime. He's had 3 breastfeeds - one at 6am, one at 11am and one at 6.30pm. He fell asleep after his evening breastfeed and is currently away in dreamland. I'm so worried, hes going to be malnourished! He screams hysterically when he sees food and clamps his mouth shut, refusing to take it! I don't know what to do!! Just wanted to add that he will *suck* on finger foods like bread and butter and rusk fingers but won't actually swallow any of them. If a bit breaks off in his mouth he gags until he's sick. He won't even put sliced fruit in his mouth. ninn - he started getting fussy about 2 weeks ago. I saw my doctor and heath visitor on monday (for my son's 9 months baby review) and told them he wasn't eating much, and they said his weight was fine and not to worry but since then he's got no better and today has hardly eaten. I'm so worried!!!

Are commercial baby foods less nutritous than home made food? My 8 month baby is breastfed and has solids 3 times a day. problem is he only seems to like milk based stuff and bananas as the only fruit. I have tried veg and fruit purees with sweet potato, squash, carrots, potatos, pears, apples etc, but to no avail. Its only breakfast cereals and Heinz cauliflower cheese and Heinz mediterrrean vegetables which works for him. I have tried mixing a bit of veg puree with these products, but he seems to know when I do it! The question is should i let him eat what he likes or keep trying new things at risk that he wont eat what he likes ? for ex if i mix a little of apple puree in his bananas, he wont eat it! tips on lunch and dinner ideas from genuine sources please are very welcome.
Baby food - jars or homemade? Do you use jars all the time (HIPP HEINZ etc....) or do you cook your own? I cook and freeze in buig batches, just as convinient as a jar and a whole lot healthier and cheaper! From my experience its the ones struggling with money that feed their babies all the time of this gunk from a jar! For you that 'needs to know' my sone has just turned one and is now eating pretty much the same meals as us and I made my own stuff for him as soon as I started weaning him. I suppose we are all different, I wouldn't eat ready meals so wouldn't expect my son to do the same!
How can I make our 22months old baby boy eat foods other than milk? He just keeps on asking for milk-fresh cows(organic) milk-which we started when he was 16mos. Previously he was on Progress. He was started on semisolid foods at 4mos-yoghurt/Heinz mostly(which I blame for his picky & fuzzy eating now). We'd like him to eat foods other than milk but how? Whenever we try, he just simply refuses the food...even vomiting if ever we're lucky to feed him a couple of teaspoon.
baby food....fruits? I have fed my 61/2 month old son all the beginner veggies, so now I am going to start the fruits. The other day I bought bananas and when I got home I realized that it says they contain lemon juice....I think I read somewhere that you're not supposed to give citric to children under 1....is this right??? Is it safe to give him the bananas...oh by the way the brand is Heinz...thanks!
Foods for wheat and dairy sensitive babies? I am looking for foods for my baby, he reacts to anything containing dairy and wheat. He has been on soy formula from birth. I am currently making my own food for him because I started giving him teething rusks which cause severe diarrhoea. I have noticed this reaction also with dry biscuits, toast, cereal and farex / heinz baby rice. Any suggestions of alternatives? Tried corn cruskits and he doesn't like them.
has anyone seen that women in every single advert going? Am I going completely mad, or is there this one women in all adverts I watch? I think she was in the early diamond car insurance adverts where she had come back from clothes shopping, a hygienic hand spray advert involving another women with a sink on a train, a heinz baby food advert with babies passing notes, and a crunchy nut advert where a man in asking her questions about the 'crunchy almonds and oats' or something. it's one of these things that has been annoying me for a while, please, am I going mad, or has anyone else noticed? :)
what is a 4 month old daily routine? (please answer)? i've just started my daughter on baby food, shes 4months on the 20th of this month so i wanna start her in a routine and if the 1 she is in is normal for her age. She has a bottle every 3 hours (the tin says 4-6 months 240ml, she only has 120ml) she stays awake for about 2-3 hours and then sleeps, she gets up every 3 hours during the night as well. If i give her baby food how much should she have and how many feeds a day, how many bottles should she have on top of the baby food? And at what age should she start sleeping right through the night or at least just wake up once? she eats almost a whole jar of the heinz baby food (110g) and then anywhere between 60ml-120ml of formula straight after then 3 hours later she wants a bottle. So any suggestions? i don't no what kind of routine she should be in and how much food she should have? she has a dummy, sleeps with me and still wakes up every 3 hours of a night. and some nights she will wake up and wont go back to sleep, she will make noises and laugh, it takes around an hour of walking around and rocking her 2 get her back to sleep
Rat Weaning.? I am going to wean my baby rats from the mother hopefully as soon as they open their eyes, as she needs treatment that she cannot under-go while she has the babies, becaus eshe is still lactating. To make the weaning proccess as easy, fast, and comfortable for the babies, mummy rattie, and me also, I'm going onto soy milk, creamed foods like porridge and puree, and also wholegrain rice pudding and oatmeal. I wondered, are Heinz baby foods ok for rats to eat? They have some great healthy choices so the rats will be fit and healthy, and also happy and not bored with their food. And also, can adult rats eat honey when they are lactating? And what about semi-skimmed milk? Thanks for any answers.
