is it illegal to care for a wild baby rabbit in australia? My sisters dog found a baby rabbit in her backyard yesterday afternoon, and killed it's brother/sister. Tess (sister) brought it over to my house yesterday, and I kept it in an old rabbit cage I had. It seems fine at the moment, not in pain or anything so I'm sure it didn't get hurt by the dog. I don't know what I should do, or how I should care for it. Any help would be good. Also, is it illegal to care for wild rabbits in Australia? Thankyou.

Is there anything I can do to help the little baby rabbit? What can I give to eat and drink? We already gave it some hay to hide in, water, lettuce, and carrots.
wild baby rabbit care? Okay so a day ago (Aug. 30th) my cat brought in a baby rabbit and i immediately checked for any wounds, he/she was fine and unharmed. And the mother must of taken care of it because he/she seemed healthy. I put her/him in a box with torn up newspaper and timothy hay. I found out later that day that his/her eyes opened. So the next day I have tried to feed him/her and she/he did eat after struggle Lol. But know i am having trouble trying to make him/her to go to the bathroom. How to care for baby wild rabbits? I found a hole in my back yard yesterday with about 6 baby bunnies in it. I watched for the mother, but she has yet to return....should I go ahead and scoop them out and try to care for them? If so, what do I need? Thanks!
HELP!! How to care for an injured wild baby rabbit? I found a wild baby rabbit outside the house. My two dogs had been playing with it and injured it, tore a patch of skin on its back. I'm not quite sure how to take care of it. So far, it is in a gerbil sized enclosure with newspaper on the bottom and water and clover to eat and drink. I'm not sure how old it is and if it needs milk rather than water...but it is small and looks young. Is there something else I should be feeding and watering it with? Also, we treated its wound with hydrogen peroxide first, then rinsed that off with water to reduce the initial sting. After that, a coat of triple antibiotic cream. Is there anything else I should do?
How do i take care of a wild baby rabbit? ok.....i was swinging on my swingset and then i hear this animal crying so i run over to this bush and a snake is strangling a baby rabbit. i started poking the snake with a stick to scare it away and it worked. so the rabbit just laid there and after about 20 seconds it started breathing again. i noticed its nose was bleeding...so does it have internal bleeding??? anyway....i picked it up and put it in a cat carrier. i put water, lettuce and some shredded paper towels in the carrier too. the rabbit is about 5 or 6 inches long. so how do i take care of it? will the mother take it back after ive touched it? how old is it?
How do I care for a Baby Wild Rabbit? My cat brought in a baby rabbit today while we were outside. She sometimes brings us dead shrews or mice, but this time she managed to find a rabbit. It's front-left paw is broken, and it is very frightened. Right now we have it in a large box with a towel and long grass, but i'm not sure what else to do for it. Does anyone know how to splint a rabbit or where to bring it? We don't really have the money to pay for a vet right now, and can't bring it anywhere until Monday (One day and Two Nights) Any help would be immensely appreciated.. Thanks
How to take care of wild baby rabbits? Where I live there are lots of wild rabbits hopping around. The rabbits sometimes tend to bury their new born babies in our lawn or perhaps behind a bush. We have a dog that will find the baby rabbits and apparently dig them up. My grandpa has been telling me for years now that our dog has killed baby rabbits and that he has to go clean them up. Just today he told me our dog has killed some more newborn rabbits and I decided to go with him to check it out. I come to find out that the newborn rabbits were fine, they had nothing wrong with them. There were 4 in total and out of the 4 I only saw blood from one of them but I think that was only from the umbilical cord. Even though all 4 were fine, he insisted on putting these rabbits in a bag and throwing them away. I had to convince him to give him to one of our neighbors that takes care of rabbits and then releases them latter on. I was thinking that perhaps I could do this myself? How would I be able to do this? What are some of the things I need and what do I need to know to take care of them? Would the vet take in wild newborn rabbits? Are there other places I could take them? PLEASE ANSWER ALL OF MY QUESTIONS AND BE AS DETAILED AS POSSIBLE, IF I'M DISPLEASED I WILL GIVE YOU A THUMBS DOWN AND I ENCOURAGE OTHER VIEWERS TO DO THE SAME, THANK YOU.
How to take care of a Wild Baby Rabbit? I found a nest in my backyard with 3 wild baby rabbits. All of their eyes are open, they are moving around, breathing fine. I put to sticks over the nest to make an "X" and came back the next day and its still the same meaning the mother hasn't come back. I gave them lettuce and they started eating it right out of my hand, they even let me pet them. They don't shake or nothing seems to be wrong with them. They can fit in the palm of my hand. But I’m afraid that the wild cats running around might get them. I have a Bunny cage from my old rabbits, and a water bottle, stuff like that, so what should I do? What do they need? Food? Water? Milk? Please Help. Thank You!
How to take care of a wild baby rabbit? I live in the country and I have two puppies. I guess a mother rabbit decided to make a nest in our yard to have a baby a week or so ago; however, we didn't realize. Yesterday I found a rabbit that I'm assuming my dog found and it was killed. Today I found a rabbit that opens it's eyes so it's around 10 days old. I already have necessary equipment as my rabbit just recently died (of old age). I don't want to leave it as it doesn't have his mother and will just die. I've already researched this, and found out that it is probably old enough to have alfalfa, rabbit tablets and I can use kitten replacement milk using an eye dropper to help it. It also said to use a lot of hay inside a cage or box so that it can become warm and hide if it wants inside. I was just wondering if there was anything I needed to know. Thank you for future help.
Taking care of a wild baby rabbit... help? Before you tell me to get rid of it because it's too hard to handle, STOP. I already know how much responsibility taking care of an animal is.. especially one that is young.. probably 3 weeks. I went to the pet store and they gave me kmr and some rabbit food. She told me to feed it every 4 hours.. but I thought only twice a day. Also how much should I give it? I think I gave it 8cc/ml or around there. I've had it for 2 days already, and It hasn't pooped or peed. I know I'm supposed to stimulate the anus.. but I have been with some damp toilet paper but it didn't do anything. Do I have to be more aggressive? I just feed it about 10 minutes ago. When will it be able to go?
Wild baby rabbit help? So I just found a baby rabbit outside, in my cat's jaws. I got him out of there as soon as I could, and he seems healthy and alright, he's exploring my bathroom as of now. He still has a white blaze on his forehead, which I was told means that he is still under his mother's care, which also means that I have to nurse him till he's old enough to let back out into the wild. I have no idea where its nest is, because my cat could have carried it from who knows where. It is really small, skittish of course since its a rabbit, and jumps every time I touch it. What I need to know is, What can I feed it and how many times a day? My mom says it's my responsibility to care for it if I wanted to keep it surviving until it's older, but I have school next week and it starts at 7:50 am and ends at 2:50 pm. could I feed it around those hours? Also, how do they drink water? Out of a bowl? I'm well aware that it's illegal to keep a wild rabbit as a pet, and I'm not planning on doing that. I'm just taking place of the mother for a while, since it can't support itself in the wild yet. Any other tips on caring for wild baby rabbits would be great! Thank you so much!!
How to take care of wild orphaned baby rabbits (around 10 days old)? My cat brought in 3 baby rabbits and killed them today so i followed it to find the nest and there were still three of them in there so i took them inside and i don't know what to feed them or what to do with them If i put them back the cat will kill them and I can't take them anywhere tonight everything is closed.

Found a baby rabbit who lost its mother...how to care for it? My husband and I are trying to take care of a little baby wild rabbit that's mother seems to have been eaten by our dog. (I know, bad doggy). Does anyone have any experience with anything like this? What are the chances it will survive? It's on day 3 right now and seems to be getting a little stronger. By "day 3," I mean that's how long we have had it. As for its age - I'm not sure how old it was when we found it, but it still had its eyes closed. It was the size of a mouse.

I brought him inside, warmed him up and now hes fine! but i wanna kno some things. 1. He eats grass and clovers and all the rabbit grasses they'd eat, but he also still wants the KMR formula we've been giving him, What are the chances of him dying from diarrhea?? ( I heard that you only have to worry about then when theyre eyes are closed) 2. When should we stop giving him the KMR? 3. Is it safe for him to also eat some rabbit pellets? THANKS!
How to care for baby wild rabbits?? HURRY LIFE OR DEATH HERE!!!? Hi, my neighbors dog discovered a rabbits nest and so I saved them and now I have them in a cardboard box with straw at the bottom and grass on the top. I am feeding them by an eye dropper using 2% Cows milk. They dont like it but I shove the eye droopper in their mouth and squirt it so they a have to eat. Does it sound like Im taking care of them right? Second question, I want to know how old they are. There eyes are still back and their eyes are closed and they have a full set of hair. They also have their buck teeth in front grown in. Any clue on how many days old? Also, when do wild rabbits open their eyes? I belive its a normal rabbit in Illinois. Maybe a cottontail? How do I help the baby wild rabbit? My mom found this baby wild rabbit out in our garden, and it's close to death. My dog had previously killed 3 of his littermates and, in all likeliness, scared the mother away permenantly. Is there any quick care I can offer him? I tried to introduce him to my pet rabbit, who's about a month and a half from her last litter, but she ignored him as though he had already died. We don't have goat's milk or KMC kitten formula, which I read would be the best options, or any other animals that have had babies in the last YEAR, but my mom said I'm welcome to the evaporated milk. I don't know what to do. I've been trying to get him to drink water from a dropper, with little to no luck. Help! Sorry to have taken so long, but not too long after I posted this question, the bunny died in my hands. If I had had the time, I may have been able to get it to a rehabilitation center, but it was seriously too late for that, and we can't exactly afford to be taking wild animals to the vet, right now. I appreciate everyone's attempt to help, though.
We saved a wild baby rabbit from the dog, what can I feed it? A baby rabbit ran into the back yard last night with the kids and the dog. The dog thought she got a new toy, my daughter saved the rabbit and we only found like a surface wound. We put some medicine on it. I have no idea how old this baby is. It fits in the palm of my husbands hand and has hair all over, the fact that it was away from its mother might lead me to beleive it is old enough to be weened. So if we let it go will it be able to take care of itself or if we nurse it back to good health are we stuck with a new "pet". Can you have a wild bunnie for a pet? Would you need to get it shots? I know people have rabbits for pets but aren't they domesticated animals not from the wild? What can I feed this little guy? Do they drink milk or water? Any good advice would help. Thanks
Does my Domestic rabbit like my baby wild rabbits? I have two wild baby rabbits that were abandoned. yes abandoned...please don't tell me the mom was just out eating or something. I have been taking care of them for almost three day's now and they seem to be doing fine. They're practically tamed now since they love to crawl all over me and cuddle. I also have a domestic rabbit that's a lot bigger than them. He's about four months old. We put the big rabbit with the babies and he just layed by them. He also nudged one gently and started digging in his bedding which he doesn't usually do. We're not sure if he's really a male but we just guessed. Does he like the babies or not? Why did he nudge it? why did he lay by them? I need help! thanks!
Can a wild baby rabbit be raised by humans? Our dog injured a baby wild rabbit, its better now, but humans have handled it, cannot put back into yard, how do we care for it. eyes are open ears up & it hops. Many dogs in the area.
Care for an injured baby rabbit?! Help!!!? One of my cat's caught a baby wild rabbit, and it's injured badly. It's missing fur and skin from its back and it has a few puncture wounds. It's a really healthy little bunny so I think he may make it. Maybe. I really need some help on how to care for him. And how to nurse him back to health. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!
Wild Baby Bunny Rabbit...? First off, I UNDERSTAND THAT WILD BUNNIES SHOULD BE RETURNED TO WHERE THEY WERE FOUND AND THE MOTHER WILL TAKE CARE OF THEM FROM THERE/THEY WILL FIND THEIR WAY BACK HOME... With saying that...I have found a baby bunny that was just sitting in the middle of the road and I decided to take it in so it wouldn't get hit by a car. There was no nest in sight. He/she is about 4.5 - 5 inches long, eyes are open and there are no visible signs of injury EXCEPT for a little bit of dried blood on the nose but it doesn't appear to be an animal attack or anything. 1. Will a baby bunny be rejected if it is placed in a different rabbits care? I know of another bunny-hole and if I needed to place it back into the wild I would like to do so with another rabbit family so I know that he/she will be safe if they won't reject it. 2. If that were not the case I need some good rabbit rehab websites. I know that they often die in captivity due to diarreha but I would still like to give it a shot if the chances of it living are 50 50 either way. 3. What does this "white blaze" look like exactly? I am trying to tell if this rabbit is old enough to be transferred to solid foods. If anyone has a picture that would be GREAT! Thanks!
Caring for a wild baby rabbit? First of all: I did NOT take the rabbit from its mother or its den. It was brought into my grandmother's home my her cat, luckily unharmed, although one of its siblings was killed. I do plan to release the rabbit because I know it won't survive if kept. The rabbit's eyes were closed when she was found, but are now open (hopefully that can help determine the age). We've been feeding her kitten formula, which we were told would work by a woman who works for the Game and Wildlife Commision. We feed it to her in an eyedropper thing. She eats it right upand also ate some lettuce yesterday. We're keeping her in a cardboard box. We make sure to keep it warm. I would like to know when to release the bunny, where to release him, and whatever other advice you have. Thanks.
how to car for a Wild Baby Rabbit? ok, the other day I was outside and one of my cats meowed at me and I saw a little furry shape next to it. and I went to look closer and I saw that it was a baby bunny. it's eyes are open and it has all its fur. what to do with a wild baby rabbit? My bf is a landscaper and while cutting grass he found a baby rabbit. He assumed he scared off the mother and brought it home to me. I have several questions because I've never cared for a rabbit. Also, I've read a few contradictory articles about keeping the bunny versus setting it free and I don't know what I should do. 1. Should I try to care for it? Or set it free? Note that I have no idea where it came from so I would be letting it go in an unfamiliar area away from its mother. 2. Does it actually have a fighting chance on its own? Its eyes are open but it hasn't been hopping. I'm guessing its between 2-3 weeks based on info I've found on the net. 3. Is it illegal to keep a wild animal as a pet in canada? 4. Is it advisable to keep it considering I won't be able to return it to its mother? 5. If it can't hop should I even bother to release it right away? ...So many questions but these are the pressing ones. I just don't know if I should keep it or set it free.
Can i keep a wild baby rabbit with her eyes open? Hi!! i had just rescued this wild baby rabbit who has her eyes open 2 days ago by a cat that was very close to eating her... I am wanting to know can i keep her, is it even possible to keep her without dying. Or should i let her back into the wild ( but at what age?) Things we have done with her: <she loves her center that she stays in, it is a bit small but we thought if she lives for another week we would up grade her to a way bigger pen.( she has a food dish , water dish, a mineral salt roll, an a igloo that is meant for hamsters its just that she is a baby and she didn't need a big one.she very much likes it though) >she loves for me to hold her , and i am not lying... i always have a blanket for her to cuddle with and she cuddles up in it and falls asleep...i think she is quite used to me cause i spend almost every hour of the day taking care and loving her. My parents are very much into nature and they said that she is coming along but she does get a little anzy... They said i have most considerent to her... >i feed her fresh cut up melon, strawberries, carots ,blackberries, and apples.. i give her three tiny pieces of each ...i also give her timothy hay, solid rabbit food, and i give her 10ml every hour from 7a.m to 9 p.m .. and she has been eating every thing on this list , but i cant say that she eats every last bit of her food ... she eats all her apples and drinks all her milk ... i was giving instrutions to feed her 10ml every hour between that time by a person who rescues wild animals and makes they survive.. <An this is for any extra information... she loves to come out during the morning and day from her igloo and play around, she eats perfectly, her heartrate is usually normal, no injuries, not scared of me or my mom, has perfect bedding , is supperly healthly , and that i am in love with her , she is like my little baby that i take care of every hour of the day... > questions i need to ask.. do i need to give her adult feces??i showed on a blog that it helps with their stomack. what is the heathliest thing to give her.?? what is best for her , being put back in the wild or can i keep her and give her all the health she needs..?? please anwser back!! thank you....
Found a wild baby rabbit, when to release him back? We rescued a wild baby rabbit on Saturday who's nest had been destroyed due to dogs and the mother is no where to be found (we looked at appropriate times, tracks, etc). The other babies in the nest are gone/died, only one survivor. I think he's a cottontail and his eyes are still closed. We nursed it back to health, and now it's becoming mobile, with his eyes closed. He explores a secure area we have for him, and always comes back to his "nest". Very friendly, does not seem stressed at all (no shakes and doesn't cry). I can't get a hold of area rehabilitators. He's doing quite well and I have researched A LOT on the care for this lil guy. Just wondering, if he makes it and I still can't get a hold of a professional, when do I release him back into the wild? Do I have to do it in a specific place? I was thinking of a state park, is that illegal? I know that I cannot keep him, but I don't want him to die. Any info would help. SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY. Edit: I live in Texas and I'm not sure of the laws here. He's doing fine with food and eliminating and he's got energy (not stressed). I've called numerous vets and rehabbers, left msgs and emails. So, yes, I am trying my best to get a hold of someone. That's a myth that the mother will reject them, now that a human's scent is on them. But the mother is no longer in the picture.
Taking Care of a orphaned wild Rabbit? Ok so I have got this one baby rabbit who is the only survivor of a cat attack so i was wondering what it should be eating. Right now its 2 inches when hes scrunched up into her little ball so im guessing about 4 inches streched out. Its eating grass and carrots right now and i think its drinking its water. I wanted to know if theres something beter to be feeding it and if the water should be replaced with milk.
Saved a baby rabbit from the side of the road? Alright so yesterday, me and my friend found a baby wild rabbit sitting by the curb in the road. It didn't try to run away (hop away) when we went to pick it up. so while my friend held it i ran inside and got a box to put her in. We filled it with rabbit bedding and grass and gave her celery (she loved that) and some oats. oh and lettuce. We didn't know how baby rabbits drank so we put up a water bottle and a bowl with water in it. so far the only thing she drank out of was the bowl. My questions are... URGENT: Wild baby rabbit advice, please? Hello, I rescued a wild baby rabbit from a magpie that was pecking it on a busy road yesterday and I took it home with me. Its heart was racing and its ears were down, but it survived the night. From photos of rabbits online, I estimate the baby rabbit to be about three weeks old. It is small enough to sit in the middle of two cupped hands. Last night I placed the rabbit in a box filled with furry material and it managed to sleep. When I woke this morning, I discovered that it had been able to move out of the box by itself. Its ears are now raised and the rabbit is moving and seems to be eating dandelion leaves quite happily. My question is, what is the best way to ensure the baby rabbit's survival now? I have contacted my local vets and animal rescue centre, but they are reluctant to take any responsibility for the rabbit and they have only advised us to buy pellets for it to eat. I have never cared for a rabbit before and I'm unsure as to what to do. I'm concerned about rereleasing it into the wild as I cannot be sure where the mother is located and it was also necessary for me to touch it in order to rescue the defenseless rabbit and take it home. I would really appreciate any advice you could offer me. Many thanks.
what dose a wild baby rabbit eat? not 30 min's ago we found our cat trying to kill a helpless little rabbit and we happened to save it,and i want to know what they eat and how they should be cared for.please help i don't want to let it starve to death.
baby wild rabbit..... ? i found a baby rabbit yesterday afternoon, the nest was destroyed and he was abandoned so i took it in my care. i would say it 3-5 weeks old. i dont know what to feed it, can anyone give me there experience with wild rabbits?? i need to know what to feed it. also, im trying to give him cat replacement milk with a dropper. i cant tell if its drinking it though, can anyone help me please!!?? i dont want it to die
What to do about wild baby rabbits? Came across 3 wild baby rabbits in my backyard when I came back from a 2 week vacation. The neighbors say that their cat killed the mother. I really want to save the babies. They have there eyes open but I'm really not sure how old they are. There are some woods near my house that I considered letting them go in because I'm concerned that the cat will come back and kill them as well. Is there any chance they will make it without there mother if I let them go? Should I call an animal rescue place? I'm willing to try and take care of them and try and save them myself if there is a better chance of them making it. If that's the case I'm going to need to know: Any idea of what I should keep them in? What do I feed them? Any tips for taking care of them?
Taking Care of Baby Rabbits? My cousin and I found four baby wild rabbits in our backyard today. The mother rabbit was hit by a car, and died. We had the babies until our Grandmom said to put them back, but their newborns. We still think that we should take care of them til they are two. They don't know how to fend for themselves, and they were starving when we found them. They also were about to have a heat stroke. What should we do, and will they die. They also follow us around the yard, and they lick us but don't bite us. And they fell asleep in our laps.
Wild Baby Rabbit. Where do I let it go? I was moving a car and there was a wild baby rabbit next to the wheel. I didn't see it until I backed the car out. So I picked it up because it was just out in the open. I know that it's against the law to keep them, and that is the last thing that I want to do because I can't take care of it properly. And it's not fair to the bunny to be free to roam one second and then held captive the next. We have a lot of rabbit's in my subdivision, so where it came from is what I'm trying to figure out. I thought that I should just stay outside and wait for an adult rabbit, and then let lit loose. Any suggestions as to where to let it go?
Wild baby bunnies? i heard that if you touch a baby bunny under 2-4 weeks of age the mother won't come back? is that a myth. a couple of days ago i found a nest of about 6 wild baby bunnies. I handled them gently. Just to make sure the mother will come back right? and what would happen if she didnt? do i take care of the babies. I had a friend that took care of wild baby rabbits when the mother abandoned them and they lived till they died of old age. alright. can you help me? all i need to know is what to do now!
How do you care for a wild baby bunny? So a few days ago i rescued a little baby bunny. He is still very tiny but has fur and his eyes were already open. I have been feeding him a certain type of milk that is apparently very good for young rabbits without a mother. Anyone else have any info or personal experiences? I just want to make the bunny happy so if there is anything i need to do or buy that i havn't already i would like to know.
how do you take care of a newborn wild rabbit? My friends dog atacked a bunch of baby bunnies in the grass and they all died except one. so we decided to take care of it til it was old enough to fend for itself.we know its under 10 days old b/c its eyes aren't open yet, but its ears are starting to perk up.and it can urinate by itself now. we feed it milk with an eyedropper. could you give me some tips?
Wild Baby Rabbit? This probably isnt theright thing to do, but mom is definately killed and my dog brought in a baby bunny. 1st day we took it to wildlife center, 2nd day my dog brought in another. I'm thinking about keeping this one,my decision is made. Any tips on taking care of her? She has full grown fur but her eyes are still closed.
Wild baby bunny-care and release.? I found a wild baby bunny in my window well. He had been there a couple of days (according to my in-laws who live in my basement!). I am guessing he's several weeks old. He has fur, eyes open and was pretty alert. I gave him some water, grass, dandelion and clover immediately because I knew he had no food or water for several days. He ate lots. I am keeping him warm and have gotten him some timothy pellets and some alfalfa hay and a water bottle. He seems to be doing well. I want to release him but found no rabbit holes or nests in the area that I found him. There are some young baby bunnies in my backyard under my shed, but they are alot bigger than him. Should I just stick him there and hope the mommy bunny takes care of him? Will any "mommy" care for him? I also have a beagle that is digging around the shed and trying to get at the bunnies. I am really afraid he will eat the baby if it doesn't know where to go. Please help!! Thanks in advance! Laws re: wild animals are different in every state. In most states, it is illegal to purposely catch and "keep" any wild animals as pets. My intention is not to keep it as a pet but to simply give it a fair chance of survival.
how do i care for a very young baby rabbit i found outside? i have tried to find where it came from, but i havent found the hole yet. i put some grass and water, but it dosent seem to be eating. i know that regular rabbit food will kill it since it is wild...any ideas?? im surprised it made it thru the night, it wasnt doing very well, but this morning it is hopping all around. i would put it bacl outside, but all the neighborhood dogs will kill it. any ideas?

Baby wild rabbit/hare? When I was biking today, I found a miniscule rabbit/hare. It's about three and a half inches long, but it's head is rather large for its body. It may have been washed out of its burrow by the rain which was coming down in torrents. Its eyes aren't opened yet, and it can barely stand balanced. We put it in a shoebox with grass and leaves at first, feeding it 2% milk drop by drop. We also let it suck at a damp paper towel. It's sleeping in a cotton sock, and we moved it into a plastic fish tank, softening the bottom with other socks. We put a blue light about seven inches above it. I'm pretty sure it's still weaning. Please tell me how to care for it. We have no idea where its mother/burrow is, and if we knew what creature it was, that might help too. It looks only about five days old; really frail and weak. Please help!! Thanks so much. It's also squirming around, twitching its paws as if it's unbalanced. Is it just trying to learn how to walk, or should I be concerned? Whenever it gets up, it's shaky and falls down. It scrabbles at the walls trying to get up... Is this normal?
What is the best way to take care of an abandonded wild rabbit? My riding mower is in the shop, the grass hasn't been cut for weeks and is very tall. I was mowing the lawn today and i ran over a family or rabbits. My dog killed one of the babies. I never saw the mother. I ran over a patch of grass and like 2 or 3 rabbits scrammed from out the tall grass. I heard yelps/squeaks, and i found this little baby rabbit, like really really tiny. I feel bad just leaving him outside, i destroyed his home, and he's probably gonna die if i just leave him there right? What kind of food should i give him? Can i give him milk? How much can i really help him?, his mother isn't around to give him milk. I gave him some sugar water and some spinach so far, he seems interested. I made him a little box with some old newspapers and rags. Also, should I call some sort of game and wildlife organization?

Orphaned Wild Rabbit/ Domestic Newborns About 5 days ago my siblings and I had saved a wild baby rabbit from our dog. We are trying to make contact with a local vet, but at the time we have been giving it kitten formula, however it dislikes it and it seems to be eating the rabbit pellets we give it. She seems to be doing fine and it seems that only her left foot was injured, but it's quickly recovering. Recently her stomach bloated and it is large and round. Is this a good sign or are we over feeding her? Also our pet rabbit gave birth to a litter of 7 yesterday. She had a previous litter in July, however she did not take care of them, so we are worried the same thing might happen again. Is there any way to tell if they are being taken care of? And if not is there anything we could do for them?
how do you take care of wild rabbits? my dad brought them in since they were sitting rite nxt to his office door. he decided to bring one home for my lil bro's birthday so that we could raise it and return it. not a smart decision i know. it is a young one but not really a baby. it can now eat carrots and lettuce. wat all should we do to take care of it (like how do we supply the water and stuff) and when do we release it?
I have recently found four wild baby rabbits..? and although I'm taking care of them.. I still want them to be able to live in the wild for when they get older. I have heard that once their eyes have opened.. you're supposed to let them out in the wild all by theirselves.. but they are still very tiny so I don't feel comfortable letting them outside all by themselves. I have raised three baby rabbits before and successfully raised them; although on the first night outside alone a raccoon had eaten on of them, so I especially don't agree that just because their eyes are open you should let them outside. I have a big backyard with a small fence around it; and just recently I had had some neighbors move in, they used to live on a farm so they have many, many cats just roaming around outside. Petsmart has told me to get them cat formula, and not to baby bottle feed them any longer, but they weren't quite sure. And although I have raised baby rabbits before, I'm still not so sure of what I should do. Any suggestions? Killing them is out of the question; and I know that I probably shouldn't have touched them, but surrounding them all over was highways on all sides, and come on;; I couldn't just leave them there.
Site about wild rabbits? Last night my cats brought me a baby rabbit. It's not hurt at all, but I don't know what to do with it. Does anyone know of any sites where I can find out about the care and indentification of wild baby rabbits?
wild baby rabbits?help!? well i know u shouldnt touch a baby rabbit and take it from its home, but i found a nest and there were about 5 or 7 of the bunnies in there. well then over night and all through the next day i put a stick on top of the nest to see if the mom would return to the nest but after the next day the stick still wasnt moved. So i have one of them inside right now with me and i wanted to know how i could care for it? How could i feed it and let it drink. I am a animal lover and i will be very sad if this bunny died so please give me good advice!! thanks.
Found 5 baby wild rabbits and don't know what to do? We found 5 baby wild rabbits on the side of our house and there is no mother to be seen. I told my mom not to move them because their mother will probably come back for them. She ended up moving them about 2 feet inward because she was afraid someone would step on them. Does this mean the mother may not come back for them now because we touched them? We're not sure what to do they haven't even opened their eyes yet so I don't think they can eat grass, while we're hoping the mother will come back we just don't know. Is there a rescue or anything we can take them to for care, we live in Ventura County? Thank you!
How to tame a baby rabbit? Okay I know this is going to sound stupid, but, I want to take care of and tame this baby rabbit. I live in an area with ALOT of cats, wild dogs, foxes, bob cats. Yesterday night I heard something screaming outside of my window, I run outside and there is my big black cat with a baby rabbit, she's an evil thing. She was letting it go so it could run, then she'd catch it again. She keeps bringing me things home, she brings them right to the front door, sometimes theyre alive, but mostly they are dead. Anyway, the rabbit is wounded, two wounds on its stomach, I cleaned the wounds with a q-tip last night and put antibiotic ointment on them, the rabbit was in complete shock. I put it in a box with grass so he could make a little nest and sleep. He's still in the box. I guess he's feeling better this morning because I opened the box and boing out pops rabbit and took me 30 mins to catch him again. Now, I know whats going to happen, if i let him loose he is destined for death. After seeing a dog with one of the baby bunnies in its mouth, i can't help but want to keep this thing safe. Maybe only till his wounds heal. But is it possible to tame the rabbit? The bunny is about as big as the palm of my hand. note: i've raised many litters of newborn baby kittens, and bottle fed twin baby squirrels till they were old enough to eat solids, they would climb on me and nest in my hair, they were cute. note: also i know people are going to say keep the cat inside but its impossible when i'm young and live with my mom who constantly lets the cat outside.
What to feed baby rabbit? My neighbor saved this baby rabbit from his cats and gave it to me because I wanted to take care of it. I've decided I will raise it until it wants to be released. It looks like the one in this picture, only a bit smaller. http://shanghaiist.com/attachments/shang_shanghaiist/baby%20rabbit.jpg. Can anyone please tell me what I can feed it, like any special vegetables? I don't know what baby rabbits in the wild eat. Are carrots or celery too hard for a baby? I know I shouldn't let it drink milk but water only. Should I feed it soft foods, if so what kind? Would it eat grass or stuff like that? Is there special foods at a pet store I could buy? Thanks for your help!! I'd really appreciate it if any rabbit experts could message me with advice.
