I always knew when she would be moving alot.. here lately she has been way off her own schedule. She is still moving, just not the same type of movements... Wierd! Is this normal?

Do baby's sleep patterns in utero continue after birth? I'm due in about 4 weeks and have noticed since I started feeling movement that the baby pretty much sleeps when I sleep at night. The only time she "wakes up" is when I turn over to sleep on my other side. Do these sort of sleep patterns continue after birth?
Patterns in baby sleep..? Looking for those moms whose babies exhibited something similar to offer some first hand info to new mom. When my baby was 2 months, this was her sleep pattern: 7:30pm - midnight - 3am - 5am - 7am eating at each waking. Now that she's 3 months, it's 9pm - 2am - 5am - 7am eating at each waking. One night, randomly, she slept from 9pm - 5am straight, then straight till 9am but hasn't done it since. I wish she did this all the time! Is it a sign of what's to come? Anyone else's baby do something like this? What was the outcome and when?
Does loud adult snoring affect newborn baby sleeping patterns? My husband snores loudly during the night while sleeping. It's so loud that sometimes it even disrupts my sleep. He's had his adenoids removed and even tried nasal strips to prevent it, but none have been successful. Is his snoring going to negatively affect our coming newborns sleeping, and if so what can we do to resolve the matter?
Baby sleep patterns...... and other questions.? Hello I asked a question yesterday and did not get many replies so I am trying again. I have a couple of questions in regards to my sons sleep. He is now three and a half months old and I have one or two issues you might be able to help with. He had his shots two weeks ago and since then his sleep has changed - alot. He was sleeping anywhere from four to six hours at night before the shots with me getting up to him usually once or sometimes twice and waking up about 6.00am - 6.30am. Now he is sleeping only two or three hours at a stretch (sometime nearly four but not quite) and I am getting up to him three or four times a night. He is also waking between 4.00am and 5.30am. My questions: 1. Does the immunisations have this kind of affect on them - even two weeks later or is he perhaps having a sleep regression? 2. Is it normal for a baby to wake every two hours or less during the night? For instance, last night he slept 2.30 hours, then 2.20 hours, then 1.45 hours and then 1.30 hours. How can I make him sleep longer? 3. He nurses to sleep at the moment, is there an easy way to put him down awake or is it too soon? I hate seeing him screaming. 4. When he wakes very early like this morning at 5.40am I took him to bed with us - is that okay or are we making it harder for ourselves later on and is he going to expect this every morning? How can I make him sleep a bit later? The other night he spent the whole night with us after two and a half hours screaming! He slept like a log then! So many questions - I am so tired and confused! He is exclusively breast fed, he is 3.5 months old and he sleeps in his own cot (mostly). I swaddle everynight. He could be teething too - lots of dribble and grabbing at his ears and plus his mummy had early teeth at four months. If only there was a magic pill to make them sleep and for daddies to produce breast milk so they could help feed LOL. Any suggestions????? Thanks.
question about baby sleep patterns please answer? i work 3-4 nights a week and during those days, the person who watches my daughter says that she starts to sleep fro 10 or 10:30 pm and does not wake up that much in the night. I prepare her milk before i go to work and leave it in the fridge to be warmed up when she wakes up and usually there are like two bottles extra left. When i home with her she wakes up every 3-3 1/2 hours at night to drink milk just wondering why there is a difference between the nights that I am home and the nights that i am not. Also when did your baby start to sleep the whole night through. If so how old was your baby when he or she started sleeping the whole night? (yes i am aware that every baby is different) I was told that when my baby starts to eat cereal and she has but she is still getting up in the middle of the night.
Lies that baby books/other moms/pediatricians tell you about baby sleep patterns? 1. If you put the baby in his crib drowsy but awake he will learn to self soothe back to sleep. ~Right, only if he's on his back. What about when he rolls to his belly? 2. Try not to feed or pacify baby to sleep because then they will learn to only soothe themselves back to sleep through sucking. ~ No sucking. Check. Um, but wait, I've been doing that for 3 months now. When exactly does the self soothing kick in? 3. He must be hungry. Give him some rice cereal and he'll be sleeping through the night in a week. ~ Cool. Rice Cereal, check. This must be true because so many people give me that advice. Um, in a week you said? Cause it's been a month. 4. Babies thrive on routine, so implement a bedtime routine so your baby knows it's time for sleep. ~ Since week 3. Same routine. He's now 6 months old. 5. Some babies wake up because they hear things around them. Use a white-noise maker or have the fan blowing. ~ Noise maker. Check. Humidifier. Check. Both of which make noise. 6. Check the temperature and make sure he is not to hot or cold. ~ Footed pj's, light blanket, ceramic heater keeping it around 76 degrees. 77 degrees, he sweats, 75 his hands get cold. Lots of trial and error. 7. It's time for you to let him cry. Try the Ferber method and he'll be sleeping within 3 nights. ~Yeah, that's not going to happen. 8. Babies who nap well during the day sleep better at night. ~Two naps a day, both roughly 1.5-2 hours. 9. Put him to sleep earlier and he will sleep longer. ~Ok, but how much earlier than 6:30 can you get? Am I missing something. Seriously. He will NOT sleep longer than 3 hours at a time. He soothes himself initially to sleep and then won't soothe himself back to sleep. I feel like I've tried EVERYTHING. Anyone have any other tips that I may not have tried. Really. I will try anything other than cry-it-out. Please help.
Need tips for "training" a baby to develop normal sleep patterns? My 4 1/2mo. has NO sleep pattern. He fights sleep "every" time I put him down.(which I only do when he's tired). He is up 2x at night still to eat, and up early am. He only catnaps all day off and on. It is extremely difficult as I have other children. Seems I spend all my time trying to get this baby to sleep, yet he doesn't sleep enough. How do people get their babies into a routine? btw: my other children were not difficult like this! They were "easy going" babies He's been getting cereal in his bottle for 2mos. (per dr.s orders)
how to switch unborn babies sleep patterns? my unborn baby sleeps all day long and i don't feel him move until late at night when im ready for bed. Is there anyway i can wake him up during the day so we both can sleep at night?
5 week old baby sleep patterns? just want to know how other 5 week old babies are sleeping, how many times you feed them dureing the night, how long it takes them to settle and go back to sleep, and what time they wake up for the day? Thanks My son goes to sleep around 8:30pm sleeps until 12am, feeds then sleeps until 2am feeds, then seems to wake up again at 3:30am because he has wind and crazy bowel movements, by this time I'm over it and put him into bed with me and we partially sleep until 5 or 6am. Do you all feel lucky now? lol
Help with baby sleep patterns!? My 6-week old little girl sleeps like a log during her daytime naps -- quiet, still, settled. Nighttime is a different story entirely! At night, she is restless and seems to be constantly making noises (grunts, moans, "peeps", etc.). She is eating every three hours. We just can't tell what the issue is. She usually sleeps during this noise, but we certainly don't! Has anyone else experienced this? And, what did you do to help?
How can i get my baby to go to sleep? I know the right thing is what ever works, but I have tried everything. My son is 6 wks old and he is very inconsistent in his sleep patterns, i have been reading this book called babywise and it says that a baby needs to have a good sleep pattern for their development. It talks of putting the baby down when they are still awake but I can't do that my baby cries when i do that, and isn't letting the baby cry even worse, so how do i accomplish this to get my baby sleeping better.
does baby's weight have anything to do with sleep patterns? my baby had her 2 month checkup and she is in the 95th percentile weight range for her age. (she weighs just over 12 lbs and fits into 3-6 month old clothes) she has slept through the night since she was born. do most bigger babies have an easier time sleeping through the night or is it just a coincidence?
Erratic sleep patterns for 7 week old baby? At 3 weeks, our daughter slept throughout the day (only being woken up for feedings every 3-4 hours), and was up all night. By weeks 4-6, she slept throughout the day and then slept 8-10 hours at night, waking up on her own in the middle of the night to be changed and fed once more, and then going right back to sleep with no problems at all. My husband and I thought that she would continue that pattern but now at 7 weeks, she's sleeping throughout the day and then only sleeping for a few hours at a time at night. Once she wakes up, I change her, feed her, burp her and then pat her to sleep, but about 1 1/2-2 hours later, shes awake again, crying, and the cycle starts all over. As far as establishing a routine at night, I've used the same one since she was born (dark room, no noise, talking, stimulation) but it doesn't seem to work anymore. Once she's up in the middle of the night, she is wide awake, and it seems like it takes longer for her to go back to sleep than it did a few weeks ago. My question is, did anybody else have the same or a similar problem with their baby's sleep patterns at around this age? And at what age did your baby continuously start sleeping soundly through the night? FYI - She is a healthy baby girl that is gaining weight at a normal rate. She eats 4 oz of formula at each feeding. Should I increase the amount? The thought has crossed my mind that maybe she is waking up so often at night because she is still hungry. Most of the time she finishes the entire bottle, but sometimes she doesn't (leaving up to an ounce and half leftover). There have also been times where she spits a lot of it back up. I've taken her to the pediatrician to see if maybe she has GER, but the doc said probably not since her spitup isn't projectile and she doesn't seem like she's in pain during and after a feeding.
What is with my baby's sleep patterns? My baby is 5.5 months old. She slept great since she was first brought home from the hospital, 4 hours at a time, even through the night. At 1.5 months, she started sleeping fully through the night, from 10pm to 6am. Since she turned 4 months old, her sleep patterns have been flip-flopping. One night she'll sleep through the night, the next night she'll wake up every hour and be horrible to get back to sleep. Some nights, she wakes up once or twice and goes back to sleep easily. Every night at bedtime, she goes down to sleep very easily, no fighting or crying. I don't like to leave her cry if she's awake...I have tried it but she just escalates and never calms down (plus I can't stand to hear her cry). As a final note, she's breastfed and she's started solids, but thinking that that was the cause of the problem, I've already eliminated her solids and it hasn't made a difference. I just find that it's weird because in a way, she's actually sleeping worse at night now than when she was a few weeks old. She's already cut one tooth. It was very uneventful, she didn't seem in pain but I've been using infant oragel just in case teething is the culprit now. (I don't think it is). Is all of this normal? What can I do? Also, she sleeps in her own room in her crib, and has since she was born. I have never felt comfortable co-sleeping through the night with her the way my husband sleeps!
Baby sleeping patterns changed? My baby is 10 1/2 weeks old, and she was sleeping 6 houyrs through the night every night at 6 weeks, and about every 3rd night would be 8 hours. Thge past week her sleeping patterns have totally changed and now she is waking up every 2 to 3 hours! Does this happen sometimes, or are we doing something wrong??? What can I do to try to help her get back to a full night sleep? Thanks
Did you're babies sleep patterns change after immunizations? I don't mean temporarily ... my baby was often about 4-6 days a week sleeping 6 hours straight and after his 2 m/o shots started having very interrupted sleep... I know it could be related to anything just wondering if anyone else had this happen after there babies shots... btw he is 4 m/o now and getting back to sleeping well about 3 hrs or so...he also had other effects from the vaccines
how to reverse baby's sleep patterns? I have a 3 week old and the last 3 days/nights have been really difficult. I think she is now sleeping in a pattern and it happens to be most of the day while at night she is wide awake. I try to wake her up and keep her up a little durring the day and get her to calm down and sleep at night, but it simply is not working!!! Its 5am and shes been up sence 3am and wants to be held... every time i put her down she fusses. what can i do?!?!
8 month old baby and sleeping patterns? I am writing to ask advice of the Yahoo community, regarding my grandson and his sleeping patterns. My major concern is he's not sleeping enough. When it is time for his nap, Chanze will fall asleep only for an 1/2 hour or 15 minutes and when he awakes, it seems that he always has an anxious feeling like he's missing something or always expecting something. Then he'll always twist and turn while he's sleeping. It's really hard to even try to put him to sleep. He's only 8 months old and he needs his rest to grow. Help!
How will I make my baby sleep during night time? My baby is 2 months old and they say their sleeping pattern should be better now but i haven't had a good nights sleep because she's awake. She sleeps during the day and when it hits around 12 am she doesnt sleep. She gets sleepy and she does fall asleep but like after 10, 15 minutes, she wakes up. Its really tiring me out. No matter how much I swaddle her she doesnt sleep. How do I make her sleep?
How often do baby feed/sleep patterns change/? My 10 week old is changing his every week. And now not sure what time he needs to go to bed. And yes I know it is when he is tired but he is tired often and naps frequently through the day. He was originally feeding every 2.5 - 3.5 hours and getting a bath and bed routine down pat between 6-7pm. Waking 5-7 hours later for a dream feed then again 4 hours later. In the last week he is wanting to feed no less than every 4 hours sometimes nearer 5 so it is hard to now put him to bed at the same time as he would not be hungry for a feed to settle. Has anyone else found this and should I just put him to be later when he will be hungry enough after a later bath. Obviously we have been spoilt with the early evening to ourselves previously and have no issue with keeping him up - just how late. As we are worried if he sleeps in the late pm too long he may not go throught the night?
4 month old baby sleeping patterns, is this normal? My now 4 month old baby was sleeping great (averaging 5-6 hours sleep in a stretch at night) but lately has been all over the place, wakes about 6 times a night. A normal night is like this - 7.30 - to bed after formula, finally falls asleep around 9 wakes at 11, wakes at 1, wakes at 3, wakes at 4, wakes at 5, stays awake until 6, finally falls asleep for maybe an hour then up around 7, then fights the naps during the day, and has maybe half hour, or on a good day a few hours (averaging 3 naps a day, the middle nap is usually the longest one). He is teething, but I give him gel and panadol for this, so the teething issue shouldn't be bothering him that much. I'm at my wits end, as I'm not getting any sleep at all at night and no time to myself during the day (I also have a 2 year old, her sleep patterns however are brilliant). Any suggestions? P.S He doesn't have colic, he poos great, and he burps great after his feeds. P.S. He gets put down in his cot awake and he falls asleep himself, no rocking to sleep like our first child!
How many hours should an 11 week old baby sleep for in the night? My baby is 11 weeks old today and we put him to bed at about 10pm when we go to bed and he wakes at 1am and 5am and doesnt normally go back to sleep until 10am for about an hour unless we take him out in the pram he sleeps longer, is this a normal sleeping pattern or should we try and get him into a routine and put him to bed earlier?
Did anyones baby aged between 6 weeks to 3 months actually follow the books sleeping patterns? Each book I read expresses that a child aged between 6 weeks to 3 months should sleep for 3 hours in one stretch. I can't get my baby to sleep more than 1.5 hours per nap in the last 2 weeks (she is 6 weeks now) and usually only sleeps 30 minutes before I have to go in and resettle her Is this the norm for a baby to sleep for 3 hours uninterrupted per nap or is the dream-not common baby.
Is my baby going to follow my current sleep habits? I heard that your sleep patterns during your pregnancy tend to determine how your baby wills sleep once he is born. A woman I know said she slept during the day and stayed up all night while she was pregnant and the baby did the same once he was born. From your experience.. does this have any truth to it?
do you know your baby's wake sleep patterns and do they stay? the same after birth. i can tell when he is awake and moving because i can feel him alot so im assuming that when hes sleeping are the hours i dont feel him. for example in the morning while i get ready for work i dont feel him but i think i wake him up when i get in my car to drive to work because he starts moving alot until about 9 then nothing until about 12 until 2 then hes moving again.... does that start a pattern for him whens hes born
Question about baby sleeping patterns? Hi. My baby girl is 5 months and a half year old. Since she was 3 months old, she's been sleeping a lot better "(from 9-7). But she still wakes every 5 or so hours to have a bottle. When she was 4 months old I stopped her night feeding. For a month and a half I have been giving her a pacifier when she wakes up at night, which as at 1 am, 4 am. I started putting her a little rice cereal in her bottle, she generally slept better. ( She still sleeps from 9 - 7 roughly). I have no idea why she is waking up at those specific hours. When will she sleep one stretch? Will her sleeping pattern fluctuate? When will she have a fixed pattern, I am sooo sleep deprived. She is now 6 kilos and 700 grams. She is insisting on waking up. I am against letting a baby cry cause I tried it with her and it was a very bad experience. I don't have a problem with her when putting her to bed. She sleeps in her own room since 1.5 months. (yay me:) Better after eating solids?
Babies sleep patterns similar experience? My 6 month old starts off the night sleeping for two hours then waking, then begins to wake every hour, then every fourty five minutes, then every ten minutes. She does this every day and has for the last two months. Anyone else have a similar experience? I don't know why she wakes up so often. She slept better when she was younger! I know all babies go through these stages but wonder how much longer it will continue, I'm kinda tired! Oh and I am breastfeeding.
How to make a baby sleep more soundly at night...? My one year old daughter is going to sleep fine; but wakes up between 10 and 12 every night; over and over, and is really restless. Before and after that she sleeps fine. This wouldn't be an issue other than the fact my hubby's having to start work at 3 in the morning, and due to wanting to spend time with the family; he's not going to go to bed earlier; ends up going to sleep between 8 and nine; doesn't leavehim with enough sleep; because he's a light sleeper, always wakes up when our baby stirs, even though she's in another room. Is there any reason she wakes up like this every night? And how do we prevent it, or help change her sleeping pattern at night? We can't take her to bed with us, she did that for the first 6 months while I was breastfeeding, but she's used to sleeping byherself now, and we don't want to revert her back to her old ways; my friend has a four year old still sleeping with her; and I don't want that. If nothing else, it makes it hard for personal time with the hubby; even just things like talking in bed, whatever, hard to do when you've got a baby there.
Baby's sleep patterns suddenly changed drastically...normal? she is 14 mos. old. she usually sleeps 11 hours straight per night without waking. Now, all of a sudden, she only sleeps 8 hours and wakes throughout. Her naps were 2 hours long and now have gone down to 1/2 hour to an hour. Does anyone know what could be causing this change? I pretty sure she has all of the teeth she is supposed to have now so I don't think teething is the cause. Any suggestions?
Is fetal sleep patterns same when the baby's born? I'm almost 27 weeks pregnant & just have a few questions I'm curious about if anyone knows. 1. My baby for awhile has had the same sleep pattern as far as when it wakes up (going by movement I feel) & I'm just wondering if it will pretty much have that same sleep pattern when it's born. 2. Does the baby feel hungry (or full) when you're pregnant? Sometimes I wake up & my stomach's growling & I'm starving as soon as I wake up & I'm just wondering if my baby feels hungry too. Also, I have a pain about 3-4 inches above my belly button & over towards the right. It comes on & off & seems to be worse if I bend over sometimes. Thanks everyone!! & congrats to all you mommies to be!
Sleep patterns......? Will my sleep patterns affect my unborn babies sleep patterns when she is born? Or do they sleep and wake on their own time not based on me? I have a really bad sleep pattern right now..sleeping through the day and up all night. So I was just wondering if this is true and if I should fix it? (This is my first baby)
Baby's sleep patterns? My little boy is 4 weeks old. For the first few weeks of his life, he was very alert during the day and would be awake for a number of hours during the day. Now all of a sudden he is sleeping almost all day and only waking up to feed every 2.5 hours. He is still sleeping ok at night - again just waking up for feeds. Should I be worried? I thought he would be awake for longer periods now he is getting older.
Baby's odd sleep patterns? So my 7 week old daughter has recently developed a sleep pattern that my fiancee and I are less than thrilled with lol. I had been putting her down, in her crib, at 8 pm and she would sleep until about 12, maybe 1230 then, no matter how little sleep she may have gotten during the day, she would be up from that time until about 2 or 3 sometimes 330, wide awake and alert the whole time, before going back to bed and waking at 6 or 7 in the morning. She doesn't sleep an overly large amount during the day, just normal naps but a small enough amount to where she should be ready to sleep the night by 10 o clock aside from waking up to eat. I recently started putting her down later, keeping her awake until 10 before I feed and sing her to sleep, but she still wakes up at about 12 or 1230 , stays up until 2, 3 or 4, again, wide awake the whole time and then sleeps till 6 or 7. What is this big break in her night sleeping? Anybody have any suggestions? Or is 7 weeks too early for her sleep patterns to be permanent or indicative of her future sleep habits?
3 month old baby sleeping patterns? My gorgeous just-over 3 month old son has no trouble putting himself to sleep, (which is great) but after sleeping from about 6:30pm until midnight, he then wakes every single hour after that. ie. 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am etc. It's exhausting. I know that 6:30pm until midnight isn't a bad amount of sleep, but I just don't know why he won't sleep properly after that. He can't be hungry.... he's taking 80-100ml of formula every 2 hours after midnight. If we leave him alone, he screams the house down, and I'm not a huge fan of controlled crying at this age. Other than the sleeping thing, he's a happy, healthy boy. So... any ideas? My husband wants to try some rice cereal in his first bottle after midnight to see if that fills him, but I'm not sure hunger is the problem... and I'm concerned about starting that too early.
How much sleep for 11 week baby? How much should an 11 week old baby girl sleep during the day and the night? There are so many opinions I don't know which one to stick with? Is there any sleeping/feeding patterns I could follow?
Different sleep patterns of babies...your stories? My little girl is almost 6 months old. For the first few months she slept great, 13 hours waking every two hours, then went to every four or five hours for a feeding. Now when I put her down she wakes every twenty or so minutes, and it takes a good two hours to put her down for the night. She then wakes up every hour with a moan and a cry, and she can't be hungry that often. She's fine during the day, happy, she's not teething... Just wondering if some of you parents have gone through the same changes in your babies sleep patterns in the first year or so.
How do I get my baby sleep through the night? He's 5 months and sleeps about 4 hours and wakes up wanting a pacifier which is a new thing for him.. although he's never slept all night. Is there something to coax his sleeping pattern?
New born baby sleep pattern? I delivered a baby girl last friday (6.5 lbs) and we both are at home now. Paediatrician declared her as normal and healthy. Today is the 7th day after birth and the baby is awake (intermittently) only for 4 hrs and sleeps for more than 20 hrs. Is this normal. (Am feeding her regularly around 10-12 times a day). Is this sleeping pattern normal (around 20 hrs a day). what are the things i should look out for during the first 2-3 weeks of birth. Thanks for your answers
baby's weird sleep habits...? Ok, my daughter is almost 3 months, and I cannot figure out her naps. When she was about 2 weeks up until a couple weeks ago, she hated sleeping during the day (especially in her crib). I finally got her to at least take a good long afternoon nap in her crib. But for a couple days now, she wants to sleep for a half hour or an hour every couple hours, but no long nap. Could it be the warm, humid weather? I know babies sleep patterns change all the time, but I worked so hard to establish the "long afternoon nap", lol. Just wondering about your LO's sleep during the day, and when do babies usually start the afternoon nap?
baby sleep patterns...sometimes she would get up in the middle of the night and want to play/push up/cry...and? baby girl is 7 months now. she was breastfed first 6 months and got up to eat 3-4 times a night. since she was on formula she gets up one time a night and slept thru the night once. sometimes she would get up in the middle of the night and want to play/pus up/cry...and not go to sleep is this normal or do i let her nap too much? she naps x2 hour to 2 hours long each time. sometimes she would play for an hour and fall back asleep by herself and sometimes she would cry so i would come in and rock her for a few minutes and she is dead asleep...
Did your baby sleep at night in the womb? If so, does he/she have the same sleep pattern that he/she did while in the womb? My little boy is active in the morning then sleeps around 12-2 and then is active again towards early afternoon and then settles down again in the evening and mostly sleeps at night. I am about 6 1/2 months along and was curious if this pattern would continue through infancy. It was true for my sister. Thanks!
Is there such thing as to much sleep for my baby? My baby is 6 weeks old and she sleeps a lot. She is eating ok and is not fussy when awake but she is sleeping 3 to 4 hours at a time and is only awake just to eat and falls right back to sleep. This happens on and off about 3 days out of the week the rest she is awake a bit more like 1.5 hours to 3 hours at a time. Is this normal for an infant to go through these sleeping patterns?
baby sleeping patterns? I have a 13 week old...for the past few weeks he's been sleeping on a great schedule. He'll go to bed at 7:30 and will wake up between 2-4 in the morning for a feeding and will wake up around 7:30. Now he'll still go to bed around 7:30 but will wake up almost every half hour or hour beginning around 3 or 4 in the morning. He wont nap much during the day either. Every time I put him down, he'll sleep for about 20 minutes before he starts crying. For our night feedings I give him 4 oz of expr essed milk and during the day I'll give him 5 oz totaling almost 24 oz for the whole day. I don't know if it has anything to do with his feeding but just thought I'd throw that tidbit of information in. Please help-i'm a first time single divorced mom and would like to get more sleep.
Baby sleeping patterns question?!? Hi my son is 5 weeks old on Tuesday. He wakes up at 3 hourly intervals in the night but whenh he wakes up around 5am he will not go back to sleep and crys continually when I put him down. He also won't sleep during the day unless been held. Then he is quite happy to go down about 5pm! I have tried' 'crying down'' but after 30 minutes of screaming I pick him up as I don't think it's fair to leave him crying that long. It's really hard as I can't get a lot done during the day. Any advice or suggestions?
baby sleeping patterns after vaccinations? My 9 month old son is normally a good sleeper (usually between 8:30pm to 5am) and he is breastfed but everytime he gets vaccinated his personality completely changes and he wakes up every hour! When he went in for his 6 month vaccines he acted weird afterwards and refused to sleep without nursing and so on for another month or so afterwards. This happens after every vaccine, although I didn't really notice until he got older because newborns wake up a lot more during the night. I can't take it! All the time and sleepless nights I put into sleep training him to where he can pretty much fall asleep by himself. So now he's going in for his 9month vaccines soon and I'm afraid I am going to have to start all over again, what should I do?? Has this happened to anyone else??
Why has my babies sleep pattern for a feedern changed? My baby is three weeks old and up until last night was waking every 3-4 hours for food. But last night my wife fed him between 9 and 10 last night and then at 3am we had to wake him for a feed. Then after that at 9 am this morning we had to wake him again and he was very reluctant to wake up. Is there something wrong?
baby sleep pattern and sleeping alone? My daughter is nine months old and has at least three 1 hour to 2 hour naps throughout the day the last at about 5pm to 6 or 7pm...she is breastfed and sleeps late like at 10:30 if im lucky. she sleeps in our room and wakes up at least 3 times at night for a feed (or comfort) when she sleeps next to me she doesn't wake up as much. i basically follow the rule of when baby is sleepy let her sleep what ever time of day. How can i get her to sleep earlier(if she should) ? How can i reduce night waking? When is it a good age to have her sleep in her own room?
Newborn baby sleep pattern is backwards, please help.? My baby is 10 days old and sleeps all day and is up most of the night. I'd like the opposite of this obviously, but I'm wondering when is a good age to attempt this, and how I can keep her up during the day. I understand that I'll still have to get up to feed her, but how can I get her to sleep more than an hour at a time during the night. Thanks for the help.
Is it possible to change a baby's sleeping patterns? My 3 1/2 month old goes down around 6 or 7 pm on his own, sometimes 8pm. He is up for a bottle around 1am and is UP for the day at 5am. I don't mind him going down that early, but the 5am wake up is getting very hard. Any way to get him to stay sleeping for an hour or so?
do my naps change my baby's sleeping patterns? have you realized after you take a nap you dont get kicks for a REALLY long time? it only happens on days i take a nap. i woke up at 6 from my nap it's almost 12 and i havent gotten a kick. everytime i take a nap in the middle of the day my baby stays motionless for oh so long....am i throwing the babies sleeping schedule off? ...it was only like a two hour nap.
Why has my baby's sleep pattern suddenly changed? My daughter started sleeping through the night at 3 months. Lucky us! But now, at almost 5 months, she has suddenly gone back to waking every few hours for a feeding. Sometimes she takes just an ounce or two before falling back to sleep, sometimes she'll take six ounces. I have noticed her sleeping pattern during the day slowly resolving into that 1 morning nap-1 afternoon nap pattern, but it's still a little sketchy. I just introduced solid food at two daytime feedings, which has thrown off her milk intake a little, but not by much. My husband has hypothesized a growth spurt. What gives?
How to get baby ready to sleep through the night? My little one is 6 weeks old on Tuesday. I was looking at my sons baby book and he was sleeping through the night at 2 months. I don't remember how to get to that point (he is 9 and this is all new to me again). Is there anything you can do to help prepare them for it or does it just happen on its own? I am not expecting it anytime soon, just wondering how I can help. She has absolutely no sleeping pattern at this point as well. She sleeps when she wants and there is no rhyme or reason to it at all.
how can i make my 3 month old baby sleep better? he sleeps 10 - 15 minutes then wakes up. he does that throughout the day. at night, on the other hand, he sleeps better although his sleep pattern at night is still the same when he was a newborn.
baby sleep pattern?? my 7 month old daughter has been going to bed at 9 pm every night for about the past 5 months. she usually wakes up around 6 am to eat, and then goes back to sleep for about an hour to an hour and a half. the past few days she has been refusing to go back to sleep and will stay up for 2 to 4 hours, which is totally unlike her. so since she had been getting up earlier i have been putting her to bed at 8 pm, an hour earlier, and suprisingly she slept an hour later, both nights. she slept until 7:30 am this morning. i was just wondering if this was just a coincidence or if she sleeps better if she goes to sleep earlier? anyone else find that if their babies go to bed earlier they sleep better? I have also tried putting her to bed later before and she seems to wake up earlier. thanks
baby sleeping patterns at 4 months advice needed? my 4 month baby is very content and breastfed, however we do give her a formula feed at night about 6.30pm as my milk is nit great by then after running round after a 2year old all day. i have just started porridge about 3pm so a rough routine consists of 6.30am breast 8.45am breast 11am nap 40 min-1hr 12pm breast 2pm nap 30 mins 3pm porridge and breast 6.30pm 3-4oz aptimel formula then bed 12am breast 3am breast 6.30 am breast is this ok i feel she is feeding constantly, i would like to drop the 3am if possible but cant let her cry during the night as it will wake my toddler, the reason she goes to bed so early is she hardly sleeps during the day as my wee boy keeps disturbing her and now she is used to all the goings on she only cat naps. all advice needed thanks its hipp organic baby porridge 4 mth plus
Baby sleep pattern changed? My 4 week old went through a few days of sleeping for 4 hours and now she's only sleeping 1-2 hours. Is this normal? I was so happy when she was sleeping for 4 hours straight and now her sleeping pattern has changed. Why is this happening? I am breastfeeding 100%
13 week old baby sleep pattern? my boy is 13 weeks old and for the past couple of weeks he is tired and sleeping by 6pm when it used to be 7.30 he just cant handle it any later than 6 now. im asuming its because he is so active during the day he never stops kicking and playing and "talking" lol. He sleeps from 6pm til about 6am or 7am with only 2 feeds during this time, he plays for a bit and goes back to sleep til about 8am. during the day he only naps about 3 times totalling a maximum of no more than 1 hour. he doesnt cry or show any signs of being tired and his naps of around 10/15 mins seem to be enough for him. i have tried puttin him in his crib but he just stays awake and plays with his hands he doesnt drop off or get upset lol. If he does nap its in his bouncy chair again for no more than 15 mins at a time. is this normal? my friends babys are same age and sleep 7pm-8am and sleep about 3-4 hours a day.
When did you let your baby sleep over night? My son is 8 months old and his grandparents are always talking about having him stay the night and I can't even imagine that happening. I know he would be well taken care of, but I would be up all night worried... Not to mention his sleeping pattern is out of whack right now because he has been sick...

4 months - is it normal for baby to have no sleep pattern? She will be 4 months in less than a week and she doesn't seem to have a sleep pattern. Sometimes she sleeps 2 hours, sometimes 1 sleep cycle and then is cranky and I have to put her back to sleep within half an hour, sometimes nothing all day (and man that's exhausting because she is really cranky) and other times there is something that resembles a sleep pattern.
Baby's Sleeping Patterns Have Changed? Our baby boy has had trouble sleeping through the night lately. His bed time is about the same as it has been over the last couple of months (around 9pm) with a regular feeding "call" at about 1am and 6am. Lately however, he sleeps until around 12 or 1am and then has trouble getting into a "deep" sleep until morning. He gets little naps but only when at my wife's breasts - but these naps only go for about an hour or so. We are going nuts!!! How can we get our little guy to go back to his deeper sleeping pattern? What could have changed his sleeping pattern? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! he is 5 months.
Baby's sleep pattern at 30 weeks? Another silly question! I've also read (here we go...) that you know your baby's sleep pattern by the 30th week of pregnancy. I personally have no idea - and so of course I feel like such a bad mother already!! Did you get to know your baby's sleep/wake pattern? Should I be paying more attention? Thanks for your help! :-)
Sleeping pattern of a one month 13 days old baby? I have a one month 13 days old baby. She sleeps very well in the morning but evening she gets a little fussy even after feeding and burping her. Whats should be a sleeping pattern of a baby this old?
My baby's sleep pattern? my baby sleeps in the daytime and stays up all nite until the morning she has her night and days all mixed up and its impossible to keep her awake in the day tim any tips anybody on how to get her on track?????
How to make a 11 month baby girl go to sleep? Every night for the past week, we have been putting our daughter to sleep at 7.00pm which is her normal routine 4 the last few months. But she goes histerical and does not want my wife or myself to leave the room. It takes almost 3 hrs to get her to sleep. We have tried many things during the day, from changing her sleep patterns to her feeding. Any suggestions? Yes my wife has tried singing to her.We have put her into our bed to get her to sleep and then take her back to her room. Great website Kayla's Mommy and thanks for everyone's answer's.
How can we get our baby's sleeping pattern to change? We have a newborn (just born Thursday), and he has a very odd sleeping pattern. He will sleep most of the day, though he wakes up a lot because of being hungry or his diaper needs changing, but other than that he sleeps most of the day, and then he's up most of the night. He cries really loudly and keeps my mom and stepdad up. Is it too early to try to change his sleeping pattern, or is this normal? I just want my mom and stepdad to get some sleep, they've barely gotten any.
Is this a normal sleep/eat pattern for a baby 10 weeks old.? Most days my baby girl sleeps all night and eats 4-6 oz. every 4-5 hours during the day. the last few days she sleeps a ton even during the day and is only eathing 4 oz. about every 5 or so hours during the day. can these changes just be normal, I mean I don't wake her to feed her, she wakes up and wants to eat, she is just sleepy often.
Why my 3.5 month baby changed his sleep pattern? Since he was 2 months he sleep around 7pm and wake up around 4am to drink milk, then go back to sleep until 6-7am. But last week he got a cough with a lot of congestion, so he wake up 2 to 3 times in the night, but the problem is that the cought has gone but he still wake 2 to 3 times to drink milk. What can I do to get back to his previous sleep pattern. Thanks
Important question about baby's sleep pattern? My baby started sleeping all the way through the night at about a month and a half old. Around the time he was three and a half months old, he started getting up once, to eat, around 4am. Now he's seven months old and out of no where, he's up EVERY one and a half to three hours. I'm so frustrated, it's like he's regressed back to being a week old. I don't know what to do and I'm getting pretty burnt out on sleep. Does anyone know what's going on, or have any advice?
Baby Sleep - Absolutely Ridiculous? I have finally lost it. After 13 months of being involved in perhaps the worst sleep situation with a baby I could ever imagine, I have finally lost it. I want to know others experiences with this kind of problem and what they have done. To those of you who were able to SOLVE the problems yourself, unless you did something very out of the ordinary, I am not interested in the white noise/cry it out/take them off breast milk way of solving it. The deepness of this problem is so far beyond being solved by anything of this nature it is not worth my time. I want to know about sleep clinics or those kinds of thing. Our baby has had a sleep pattern that, in 13 months, has lead to 2 nights where he has slept 7 consecutive hours, a handful where he has achieved 5, and the rest vary from him being up 4-10 times a night, to nights where he simply never goes to sleep. For the past 12 nights straight he is up 4 times from 9pm to 1 am. From 1am to 7am he does not sleep. He does not nap more than 45 minutes, and the nap is now only once a day. At one point he was getting a few 2-3 hour stretches over night and this was fine for us, though we thought it was abnormal. Right now I have completely lost it. I am not about to have my wife continue to put her life at risk by sleeping almost not at all. I can not take care of him, because when I do, he screams to the point of being completely unraveled and is not responsive to me. No, he is not hungry...No he does not want to play. No his room is not noisy, not hot, and not cold. He simply wants his Mom. I am here all the time, as I work from home, but when he is sick/sleeping poorly, he simply does not want me, and I have had it. We are now letting him scream in the crib because we are out of options and I have given up. She ends up tossing and turning with him on the couch every night because in our bed he moves around so much in his sleep it is impossible to deal with, and our bed is not that big. That is another thing...Some other things to describe our baby...He is EXTREMELY hyper - When he is up he NEVER stops moving. He is insatiable as far as eating, but will be satisfied. He is on solids of all different food groups. He works everything off though as he does not stop moving, and when he sleeps, he is so restless that we are convinced he is up, but he is sleeping, so I am thinking he is sometimes rolling over in the crib, hitting the side, and waking himself up, as sometimes we go in there and find him wedged in the corner. Does anyone have experience with a baby who sleeps 45 minute stretches over night, and sometimes is up the whole night (not colicky), who has seeked medical attention for the baby. I want to know your experience, what you did, and how you went about it. Thank You Barry Thank You - Yes, we have mentioned it to the doctor and he seems quick to say "each baby is different" and then my wife and I just kind of hope it will improve. I am probably going to call tomorrow because I have hit a wall. I feel awful...Like I am not a good Dad, like I must be the issue..I do everything I can to help my wife out because it is truly SHE and NOT me that TRULY suffers from lack of sleep. I just can't continue to watch her like this. I take care of him for 2 hours every morning until he finally yells loud enough that he gets her out of bed. Thanks for the answers...Toddler Bed...We might consider this....ADHD - A possibility - Other than this he is very bright...He started crawling/walking/talking well before the average of whatever age he was at, but the sleep thing.... Thanks everyone. One more response as far as audio and a routine. These are things we did/established from nearly the beginning. I did not put all details into the question (Sorry) - As far as being able to determine when the baby napped and putting him into the crib awake - For us, that is a big joke. If he wants to nap, he does, if he does not, he will fight it till the end. We were at his mercy (more than, then now) and he would yell, cry, and fuss as we spent over an hour only to get 20 minutes out of him before he was hollering and crying from his crib. Right now, since I have posted this, we are trying "cry it out", which is the most inhumane and horrible thing you could do...We are very much not the kinds of parents to advocate this, but we are literally breaking down, getting sick, and are so irritable - We had no other option. I can't say it is working particularly well, but two nights is too little to judge whether something like this will work. Again - Thanks To All!
baby sleep patterns? What kinda sleeping pattern was your 4 month old on , my baby sleeps through the night ( 10 hours ) and then he takes a 5-6 hour nap during the day , Im worried he is getting too much sleep ???????????
