Natural Remedy To Help Baby Sleep Knowledge Base
Has anyone used Serenite Junior drops to help a baby sleep at night? At my wits end as little one won't sleep at night. My mum has done some "research" and found this natural remedy that supposedly helps bubs sleep at night. I am more than a little concerned about using it and just wondered whether anyone had tried it or heard of any good or bad feedback? Thanks all
My baby wont sleep at night...? She is almost 17 months old (one month short of a year and a half for those of you who don't like the "months old" version). She slept the whole night through from about a month old up until 11 months old. At 11 months is when I changed her from baby formula to whole milk. She was weened by mixing the two gradually, so I know it's not an upset tummy. She just simply wakes up long enough to start to cry and then if I give her a bottle, she won't even drink but a tiny bit and fall back asleep. She will do this like 2 or 3 times a night. I feed her a good dinner so I don't think she is hungry. And yes, I know, I should have her off the bottle by now, but it is hard enough to get her to sleep as it is, and that is what puts her back to sleep when she wakes up. So please, no tips on how to take my baby off the bottle, I will ask that question later, right now I need to know how to stop this endless cycle of broken sleep. Any natural remedies other than the smell of lavender (I use that and it helps her to fall asleep initially, but does not help long term), any special tips, (no medication advice) please help, this momma is tired. Thanks so much. Additional Details She's never had a pacifier, and I don't think teething is the issue, if she's in pain, she wont go back to sleep. She does sleep in her own room, and has since she was 3 months old. I make sure she is warm (that's not hard, we are in Florida) and she already sleeps with a fan on to block outside noise (we live in an apartment complex). Hmmm... thanks to all of you so far, but anymore ideas out there? Oh, I like the "wear her out" idea, I'll try that with our routine right before the bath (bath is the last thing we do before bed). 12 hours ago

Baby Won't Sleep Need Suggestions? Help, My wife and I have tried everything. Read books, looked online, natural remedies and nothing will work. Our 11 month old baby sleeps only 30 minutes a day with the nanny and at night it is a struggle to put her sleep. When she finally falls asleep at 10pm (started trying at 8pm) she will only sleep a couple of hours and wake up through out the night. She will usually end up in our bed and not in her crib/ room, Any suggestions? Please help.
I take several medications for sleep; I'm starting to feel over medicated. What are the best new sleep meds? 've had chronic insomnia since I was a baby. It went unnoticed until I was in jr. high and began taking a cold capsule at bedtime when I could not sleep and that helped back then. I was taken to many doctors as I grew up but they always told my mother there was nothing wrong with me and sent me home being scolding for faking illness. I wasn't faking. I was a very sickly child, chronically fatigue, with little interest in the world and people around me. When I am able to sleep well for at least 8 hours I feel almost normal. But without medication, my brain does not shut down enough to sleep. I quickly develope a tolerance to medications, then the doses are increased which increases the severity or their side effects. I was born a type A Personality and it kills me to sit home when I want to be working. But without a long term relief from my insomnia I cannot work . I need to find a new sleep aid that doesn't cause me to sleep walk. I've already tried all the natural remedies
What are some home remedies for a baby with colic? My 5 week old son has seen a doctor and does have colic, but they didn't give him anything to help. I have heard about Mylicon gas drops working, but so far they haven't helped at all. i was wondering if there was anything i could buy or do at home to help him sleep and quit crying? maybe natural herbs or something?
I suffer from insomnia, anyone know any natural cures? I have had insomnia on and off since I was a baby, usually 2-3 months of sleeping regularly, and 1-2 months of not sleeping. A littler personal info may help you to, for lack of better words, diagnose me. I lead a very stressful life as an audio engineer, where my job consists of working with bigtime artists, at all hours and especially weekends. This doesnt seem to bother my girlfriend, she says she understands, and I do believe that she does, but I can't help but to feel that I have no life on account of being called in at odd hours, and bad times. I do not have a drug problem or any thing like that, I'm just looking for some natural remedies to set my sleeping habits straight. I usually do not sleep more than 3 to 4 hrs and thats around 7am when I fall asleep. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
HELP... I can't fall asleep and am always tired!? Hi everyone, I have a horrible problem with not being able to fall asleep, and always being really tired when I'm awake through the day. This has been going on for about 8 years now but has really peaked now to a point that I've had to take unpaid holidays from work (for 6 months now) and I'm still not getting over this!!! I've suffered from depression because I'm totally sleep deprived and I've seen multiply doctors who haven't really helped at all... I've tried strong sleeping tablets prescribed by the doctor and I ended up taking 3 x the the stronger than normal dosage to sleep, when the doctor found out he freaked out and took them off me saying "I should be dead with that dosage!" I've tried dark rooms, reading books, writing all my thoughts on a piece of paper next to the bed, valium, natural remedies, sleeping tunes, huge amounts of exercise but nothing F*#KEN works!!!! It's so bad now i sleep on the lounge most nights because my wife needs to sleep so she can work in the morning and i end up falling asleep to the tv about 3-4am every F*#KEN night! I used to be a tradesman so I had to get up at 5:30am which means I've survived on 1.5 to2.5 hours sleep a night for the last 8 years! No matter how exhausted I am and my body just aches from exhaustion I just can't fall asleep! We've just found out that we have a baby on the way and I really need to get back to some sorta work, somebody PLEASE HELP ME CAUSE I'M AT MY WITS END!!!!!! SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE CAUSE THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM Thanks Carly, I've tried 4 different doctors so far.... What do you think about hypnotherapy?
8 month old baby question(s), teething, sleeping HELP!? so my baby boy is almost 8 month's old. He is breastfed, but I have started giving him solids at 6 months of age. I am still breastfeeding him for the most part. He started drooling, ad putting everything in his mouth at a very young age, at 5 months. Just recently though he is drooling more, putting everything in his mouth still, but new events are happening. He is extremely cranky during the day and into the evening sometimes, not always. When I feed him, the breast he kicks his legs, sometimes he will arch his back, and he will pull both his ears, he also has been having a lot of bowel movements which I have been told can be from teething?. He does not have a cold, and I heard that the only way he would have a ear infection would be if he had a cold, which he does not. I give him natural remedies for the teething because I don't want to give him tylenol unless he has a fever. He also won't go to sleep late! I try to keep him up at least 7 pm, but he just gets so cranky!. What time do other 8 month old go to sleep? Can I do anything to help these behaviours? I understand that with the teething there is not a hole heck of a lot I can do, and I have tried freezing stuff, chewing things. Sorry that this is so long, but I am at my witts end, I was up with him every 2 hours last night and I don't want this to be a trend if I can help him!. Thanks!
my 5month old daughter is still wakening 5/6 times during the night? she takes 8ozs &1tsp of baby rice in the bottle, then has a nice bath and is in bed for 9.30pm. she sucks her dummy to get to sleep, then i remove it. (she doesnt take a dummy at all during the day) She has been wakening 5/6 times every night. I have to sit at the side of the cot holding the dummy in her mouth untill she falls back to sleep (she cannot manage to keep the dummy in her mouth herself) She is not wakening looking to be fed, only for the dummy???? We have tried to get her back to sleep without the dummy but she just ended up yelling! She becomes very restless from 2.30am onwards. Is there any natural remedies which may help her sleep longer?

A natural or homeopathic way to treat bacterial infections, e.g. campylobacter? My two dogs seem to have picked up some sort of bacterial infection. We suspect campylobacter as they have had it before, but are awaiting a faecal analysis. They're sleeping a lot, although fortunately are still eating and drinking pretty well, but they do have diarrhoea, (no vomiting as yet, although last time this came later). I hate giving them antibiotics for the same reasons I hate taking them myself (they make you feel rough and play havoc with your intestinal flora or good bacteria)! They have a probiotic supplement, but even so, I would like to give them a chance to recover naturally with minimal intervention. Can anyone recommend a homeopathic or natural remedy for this type of infection? One of them has Manuka honey in his diet already for its anti-inflammatory properties, so I'm hoping that may help. Thanks for any ideas - my poor babies aren't themselves!
Kennel Cough? Natural Soothing Remedies? I just adopted a puppy from the shelter. She was doing great except this cough that is just getting worst. We're going to take her to the vet tomorrow to have it checked out because I think it is kennel cough- although- she is vomiting up nothing, just as if she thinks vomitting might help her little throat. All of that aside, until or during treatment I would like some natural ways to soothe the throat irritation. I read you can use honey (which I don't have on hand) and was wondering if any of you had good ideas? If so, please include a link or dosages for a 4 month old puppy and I will look into it. Thank you! I hate seeing this poor baby suffer so. She's finally sleeping and not coughing at the moment. Thank you The Mom. I will ask the vet about that today. =)

The vet told me I can give her half a tablet of Pepsid AC to keep her from vomitting once a day and Robittussin (sp) for cough suppressant. The vet gave her a shot for today to stop the vomitting and she stopped coughing. Thanks for the input from all of you. = )

She is miserable and whingy, and it is obviously bugging her as she keeps laying her face on the floor with her fingers in her mouth crying. I have nurofen and panadol, but she is not used to having them and becomes hysterical when i try to give it to her- to the point she panics herself and stops breathing. signs of early pregnancy!!! taken from the net! a good list!!? I am overdue for my period and experiencing cramping, headaches, pimples, fatigue, gas, going to the toilet more often and many other symptoms, Yet i am unsure whether i am just due for my period or could i be pregnant.. I am only at the 4-5 wk mark so have no real clue as yet! I came across the list below on the net! Thought this might answer a few Q's in regards to the symptoms and the ppe who ask could they actually be pregnant or not this month! You may start noticing pregnancy symptoms and/or be able to detect pregnancy after implantation, which occurs from around 7-10 days post ovulation. If you have conceived, the embryo starts to produce hCG after implantation and not before, so it is not possible to detect pregnancy or have pregnancy symptoms before this time. So the longer you wait to test after ovulation, the more accurate the result will be and the darker the potential positive test line may be. Pregnancy testing should ideally be done from the day your period would have been due. What Pregnancy Symptoms Might I Experience? Below is a list of pregnancy symptoms which you may find signal pregnancy for your own body. Remember, every woman and every pregnancy is different, so there’s no need to panic if you don’t have all of the listed pregnancy symptoms. I had absolutely no noticable symptoms (apart from not having a period) with my second pregnancy until 11 weeks. High BBT (Basal Body Temperature) If you regularly chart your cycle and take your temperatures, you will notice that your BBT will remain high throughout your luteal phase. Progesterone causes your BBT to rise upon ovulation and stay elevated should you be pregnant. If you are not pregnant, your BBT will drop right down and you’ll get your period as normal. Missed / No Period One of the first pregnancy symptoms you may notice is that your period does not arrive. While this symptom is one we most commonly associate with pregnancy, there may be other reasons why a period hasn’t arrived, for example high levels of stress, major illness or surgery. On the other hand, it’s possible to continue to have your periods during pregnancy. Some women may bleed for just a few months or even their whole pregnancy. (See our topic on Bleeding in Pregnancy for more information). Morning Sickness Another well known pregnancy symptom is morning sickness. Don’t let it’s name fool you – morning sickness can pay you a visit any time of day, so make sure you eat enough and avoid letting your blood sugar levels drop. Ginger is a great natural remedy for nausea so it’s worth a try, although some women find that nothing seems to help their morning sickness, which normally hangs around for the first trimester before getting better or if you are unlucky, the second trimester or even whole pregnancy. (See our topic on Common Pregnancy Ailments for more information). Breast Changes From very early on in pregnancy a symptom you may notice is changes in your breasts, including: •Nipples may be tender and sensitive – some women describe their nipples to be irritatingly sensitive! •Breast may be sore and / or lumpy •Nipples may deepen in colour •Veins may become more noticeable and enlarged in the breast area •Areolas may darken (circles around your nipples) •The little ‘bumps’ on your areolas (Montgomery’s Tubercles) may increase and / or enlargen Increased Cervical Mucus A surge in progesterone often results in a surge of creamy cervical mucus production. Some women may notice a little, and some notice much more. Fatigue When you first become pregnant, your metabolism steps up a few gears in order to support your developing baby as well as your own body, which creates one big workload! You may become so immensely tired that you feel that you need to sleep more than usual. Not only that, but the hormone progesterone which is required in high levels during pregnancy has a sedating effect. No wonder you feel so very tired! If you need to rest or sleep, don’t fight your body – it needs it! Frequent Urination As soon as a week after conception, you may notice yourself dashing off to the toilet more often, only to find that you’re urinating small amounts! This happens because the embryo starts to secrete the pregnancy hormone hCG, which signals for the blood supply to increase in the pelvic area. This results in the bladder becoming irritable and it passes even small amounts of urine. You may find you will wake in the night to urinate more often than usual. Cramping This symptom of early pregnancy can also be an unnerving one for parents-to-be, as often there is a fear of miscarriage. However even when not pregnant, your uterus is continually contracting. When pregnant, the foetus grows and pushes against the walls of your uterus, which causes it to contract – this is very normal. If the cramping is accompanied by bleeding, see your doctor who can assess the situation to see if you may be having a miscarriage. However do n i took a home pregnancy test a couple days ago but did it in the arvo.. showed neg... i think i will go to the drs this week if i keep feeling like i am I guess my Main symptoms atm, are i - have cramping, tonight its been constantly ever since i got home from work.. - i am going to the toilet to urinate More often! - i am getting pimples - more tired - hot flushes - cranky - gone off smell of coffee and often feel ill after drinking it think this is about it! still thinking could it all be in my head or is my period around the corner.. am doubtful as the test i did here turned out neg!

What can I give my 9 month old for her bad cold? We live in Atlanta and one the the weather is 65 degrees and the next day it is 24 degrees and some how she has picked up a bad cold because of this finicky weather. I went to the pharmacy and they have pulled everything off the counter for infant cold medicine and the pharmacist said just give her citrus and fluids but I really feel she needs medicine. I have a 2 year old also who have done well with Tylenol Infant cold medicine when she was my younger baby age but now they have pulled all the infant cold medicines and unfortunately my 9 month old do not have an opportunity to use cold medicine like my 2 year old did. I only see fever medicines. I have drove to 3 different pharmacies on the avenue and there's nothing for infants. Any natural remedies anyone know of. PLEASE PLEASE HELP! I did not get ANY sleep . Thank you

I'm going to the Dr in a couple of days & i'll definitely tell him about this, but what could help me with this right now?? Exhausted and wanting natural cures? I have been tested for everyhting under the sun, and my doctors keep telling me there is nothing wrong. My mother has hypothyroidism, and I am showing all the signs, but my THS level was within the guidelines. I am tired of doctors not telling me what I can do to feel better. I am looking for herbal remedies, vitamins, excercise... ANYTHING I can do on my own to alleviate the following symptoms. -Exhaustion. I can barely wake up in time for work, and rarely wake up in time to shower for work, even if I get 10 hours sleep. -Aches. My joints and muscles are constantly in pain. I have "carpal tunnel" (according to a guy who looked at my wrist for 5 minutes and did no tests.) I twitch uncontrollably sometimes, and always feel like I need to stretch or run. Restless leg syndrome. -Anxious/stressed/generally bummed. I have always been a happy go lucky person, but the last few months I have become too tired for optimism, it seems. -Dry, plae skin. I'm always pale, but I'm basically translucent right now. And my skin flakes off constantly no matter how much moisturizer I use. I've tried aloe, baby oil, and vaseline, to no avail. -Bowel movements. Let's just say they are not the same. I used to be regular, and now... Very much not. -Weight gain- Possibly because I am too tired to do much physical activity, but I have developed a pooch. I'm only 28. I am by no means obese, but none of my clothes fit any more, and I don't want to go buy a new wardrobe. Please help
Red eyes?!?!?!? I had a really bad cold about a week and a half ago. I was coughing a lot and one morning I woke up and had really red eyes, but they weren't itchy or anything. I went to the Dr. and she said it was probably viral. My eyes got better after a couple days. So now my cold has pretty much gone away except I still cough a little. But then I woke this morning and one of my eyes was red. I think it might be cause I rubbed it during the night (it wasn't itchy though). I also probably should have gotten a little more sleep. This moring I tried putting green tea bags on my eyes, rubbing the outside of the lid with baby oil, and using Visine eye drops. It helped a little, but are there any other natural home remedies that work? Also, I've still been using the same mascera I used before and when I was sick even though I know I shouldn't. So what else can make it go away and not come back? Please help! Best answer gets 10 points! When I had a cold, my eyes were more pinkish, but today it was kinda more bloodshot.
pregnant and severely sun burnt? Ok, so I have an 8 year old who plays softball and yesterday we were out of town all day for a post season tournament. It was double elimination so we ended up playing a total of 4 games and being out in the sun for about 8 hours or so. We both had sunblock on. It worked for her ( cause she's part Indian so is darker skinned naturally) however the sunblock did not help at all with me. I am very, very red. It's one of the worst I've had. My husband immediately rubbed Aloe Vera on it and I took a cool shower. I did call a nurses helpline to be sure what was safe to take and do for it while pregnant and to be sure the sunburn would not affect the baby. She said it sounded like a 1st degree burn and as long as I don't blister or get a fever I will be fine. To take Tylenol for pain, drink plenty of water to keep hydrated, and to use cold compresses. My question for you guys is this: Do you know any other remedies ( natural or other) that will help with the burn but is safe for baby? I'm hurting worse today then yesterday...sleeping was hard and Tylenol isn't cutting it. But I don't want baby affected. Can anyone please tell me remedies you have tried?

NAME HELP PLZ!!!!!!!!? Ok, so I'm writing a post-apocolyptic story about a girl who was orphaned from a plague. She also lost her brother who I will tell you about later in my question. I'm not looking for real names, I want made up ones, but not so made up sounding that a parent would never name their child that (example: Goolopogoop). And also, think about pronouncability. I don't want to have to try and descipher the character's name every time I read it. Main Character This is a girl who is 11, and her parents died six years ago from a horrible plague. She is basically the second in command, but does most the cooking, cleaning, and has really become the mother of the house even though her older sister makes the decisions. She would have beautiful auburn hair (instead of the family trademark molly brown), usually in three braids her mother would do for her, but her hair has somehow faded with depression and hardly worries about her hair nowadays. It's pulled back in a ponytail if your lucky. Her eyes used to somehow sparkle even though the have always been a muddy brown. She likes to gardening and -even though she'd never tried it before until her sister died and she was forced to learn how to- has a knack for hunting with snares and traps. Her voice is gorgeous no matter how sad she is. Older Sister She is very practical and logical and barely uses the right side of her brain. She is very dull, not ever lively or exciting, and in fact- although she is not depressed herself (that would cause interest)- is very depressing. Not many people would care to be around her any time even when she sleeps. Molly brown hair, dim green eyes. She is 13. Younger Brother- Dead He was really the only happy child (other than the main character) in the family. He also had the family trademark molly brown hair, and green eyes. He loved to garden with her sister, but was also the heartthrob of the elementary school, although only ten. That's why he broke so many hearts when he became sick and died with the plague. Younger Brother- Alive He is the identical twin of the boy who passed away, and they were exactly alike (except he didn't die), although his personality leans a little more toward the older sister. Younger Sister She is the sweetest little bundle of joy you could have ever brought home from the hospital. Too bad she got struck by lightning and is now blind. She has the cutest little laugh. No one can help loving her. She is two. Hair color is still undetermined... eye color is the trademark green. Deceased Mother Kind, Caring, Put-My-Family-First kind of mom. She worked as a healer and a sort of doctor, using herbs and other natural remedies to cure most illnesses if she could, and if not, use real medicines, prescribed by a doctor to heal her patient. Deceased Father Has a knack for hunting, and might be the smartest man in the entire area. Kind, Also has beautiful voice. 3 Horses: Horse 1: Dark brown body with a little lighter brown hair. Bright blue with dots of orange for one eye, green with dots of purple for the other. Very calm personality, can sense danger VERY strongly. I may name him Firework because of his eyes. Horse 2: Bright, golden skin, with mane to match. Dark brown eyes, but fire burns beneath. A kind-looking horse but fierce in reality. Takes a long time to get on his good side. Only the younger brother can tame her. Horse 3: Caramel body, and jet black mane. Almost always calm. The older sister's favorite. I am thinking of possibly naming one of the boys Jevin, and one of the girls (including main character) Poppeline. I might name the baby sister Esisca or Sisca. I'm not sure. What do you guys think? To that 1 person who answered 1st, Poppy 2 all of them???????????? Seriously? I appreciate the answer, but really. Can no 1 tell I based Poppeline on Poppy? And I waited for like 20 minutes, and then sum1 answers Poppy? Plz more detail, and I'd like a boy name too (and actually two of them!)
Flea problems, Please help!! Im at the end of my rope!? it all started about five months ago when our cat, tilly, had three kittens, we had never had fleas before this and have always treated our cats at regular intervals for fleas to prevent fleas. We couldn't treat the kittens or the mother because they were too young and tilly was still feeding them and the vets advised us not to treat her for fleas in case it harmed the kittens. so we treated all the other cats and decided to wait until the kittens had weaned to treat mother and babies. in the time it took for the kittens to wean we had a full blown infestation, we tried everything, expensive flea sprays, treating all the cats, natural remedies, vacuuming, but nothing worked. no matter how often we sprayed they would just come back and particularly in my bedroom and i am the only one the fleas seem to bite out of the whole family. then, we moved house (not because of the fleas! we had other reasons) and everything has been fine for the first month or so but now they are back and it seems that the majority of the flea population is in my room! we gave the cats special tablets so when the fleas bite them, the flea poison in the cats blood will kill them, but even if i have all the cats sleep in my room and have a few of them in there during the day for a couple hours the fleas just wont go. its really starting to bother me, my mum had to dress my legs because i have horrible sores from scratching and i wake up constantly during the night, sometimes to change my bedding or to vacuum, i spent maybe three hours a day vacuuming my room. and have washed all of my clothes. i have OCD and everyone can see it intensifying because of this problem. we have just bought these special flea catcher lights that are supposed to stop them but i have lost hope in every flea gimmick. does anyone have ANY solutions, i am willing to do anything to solve this problem. PLEASE HELP ME, thank you. Just for everyone, we have gone to the vets and bought very expensive flea spray that didnt work and we have tryed flea spray for the cats, flea tablets and flea collars and they all havent worked.

I have a 10 year old son and I had him when I was 19, but I didnt feel as half as bad. I only felt sick in the mornings and thats it, but now that I am 30 its like I cant even have a regular life. When I work I feel hungry and sick all the time. I eat healthy and rest but still cant actually sleep. Its affecting my daily routines with my son and my work. I love to have a baby, but I dont want to feel so sick. What remedies or ideas do you have that can help me? I dont want to take medicine or pills, more natural things.
My 2 year old son has been chronically congested since he was born. Specialists can't find a solution. Help!? My 2 year old son has been chronically congested since he was born-never could use a pacifier and has never slept the whole night through:( I have been to an ENT who prescribed a nasal steroid that caused bad side effects, we have seen a doctor to take a scope of his esophagus and stomach and they found a cell that may be causing reflux, we have seen an allergist and still no reason to think that is a cause. we have gone through a swallow study...noticed nothing, a nasal scope...noticed nothing, we even removed his adenoids...nothing changed. We are currently using a reflux medicine and we haven't seen any results. We have tried the natural ways as well: saline drops, humidifier, putting him up on an incline, having him sit in a steamy bathroom, vicks on the feet and chest. Still no change. We completely avoided dairy products(and if you read labels, I feel like its in everything!), however still no progress. We will be taking him to do acupunture in hopes of a remedy. I am a mother who feels completely helpless because I can't help my baby breath. I feel frustrated that we have done surgery and still no change....not even a little:( Does anyone have any suggestions? I am searching everywhere for answers. thanks.
What is the most effective way to get rid of lice for good? I have 3 kids and they have been going through this unending cycle of headlice. I get rid of them and they get reinfested over and over. I have tried NIX and R & C and I vacuum the whole house everytime and wash all the bedding, comb they're hair till my eyes are crossing, boil hairbrushes and take away all their stuffed toys ....and they come back again. I bought this natural remedy off the internet that had you put baby oil in their hair every night and they're supposed to sleep in in every night for a month. After a few days or so the kids couldn't take it anymore. They said the oil was cold and uncomfortable. What to do? Do you know of a great lice treatment? I saw an ad for licex. Does anyone know if it really works?

Thinking about work just makes me fall flat on the floor. all i want to do is sleep once i get home and i feel so empty inside. i eat to try to fill up that emptiness and end up getting sick, started to gain weight and feel lonely all the time and sad. just had a miscarriage a couple of weeks ago and have a 15 month old baby that has so much energy and i cannot play with her because of my lack of energy. am starting to have problems with my husband, loosing sexual appetite. what can i do? Itchy flaky scalp and matted down greasy hair in mornings? I can get my hair styled using a little gel and hairspray (white caucasion with naturally wavy hair that fuzzes easily and is thin). And, it looks okay for the most part all day, but it has been ITCHING BAD and flaking and after sleeping on it, it looks like someone hosed me down with a waterhose. Does this sound hormonal??? I've tried Nizoral, Clubex, Johnson's baby shampoo, YOU NAME IT!!! ! Even tried rosemary herbs. Are there any other natural or non natural remedies that work for the itch and flake and WHAT is causing the matted down wet look in the mornings??? I've tried a satin pillowcase - makes it worse.

Toddler on planes: car seat or no car seat? We are going to take a long trip overseas with a 21 month old. I would like to hear from people who have used car seats in the plane or if they chose not to and why? was it "easier" with the car seat or without? It is going to be an over-night flight and we would like her to sleep. My baby girl, does NOT easily fall asleep in the car seat in the car but we don't often use the car, so that maybe why. Any tips to make the trip as smooth as possible? (yes, I do have a bag of new toys, food, DVD player, etc...) but I'm still nervous,.. Please don't tell me to give her drugs, unless it's a natural remedy. Yes, we got a seat for her in the plane. I think she would be more comfortable sleeping in the car seat but I am afraid she will be mad because of being strapped in and restrained in her movements.
Sick while pregnant - any advice? I am 4 months pregnant and am sleepier than ever. During the 2nd and 3rd month I was really sick and I missed a lot od days at work. Now, I don't have any more leave and I'm wondering how I'm going to make it coming in to work every day until December when the baby is due. I'm not sick anymore, but extremely tired. All I want to do is sleep. Has anyone ever lost their job because of sickness while pregnant? The company I work for is not very lenient with me. Also, any natural remedies to cure fatigue.
what medicines can i get for an upset stomach in babies.? i have a 7 month old. she was eating fine yesterday. she absolutely loves her rice cereal. we have been giving her about 1/4 of a cup of it for at least a month or more and her appetite seems to be growing. she always seems to want more after she eats it all. She has been eating rice cereal since she was four months but we just started giving her bigger doses like i said. She has been eating baby food since she was about 5 months. So it's not that we are giving her stuff she is not used to, yet this morning i was giving her the usual ammount of cereal and she cried the whole time i fed her and she didn't even eat all of it. She had baby food later on and the same thing happened. ( she has been eating this flavor, which is pears, since she first started eating baby food). We give her warm juice in a bottle like sippy cup before she goes to sleep and earlier (after all the crying and fussiness) we gave her her first real banana. It was in a mesh thing for babies that keeps her from choking on chunks but she still gets the fruit. She loved it. We then gave her her usual bottle as she laid down to sleep and soon after she was done drinking she threw up. (not spit up) It wasn't the first time it happened cause a few weeks back she was taking anibiotics which was causing her to puke. We took her off of them after the second time she puked. (note: this was not spitting up it was puking). I would like to know what could be causing the upset tummy and what medicines could i buy or what natural remedies could i use if her stomach should act up agian in the future.
3 month old is teething and in pain? My 3 month old is teething. I can see and feel a bit of the tooth emerging through her little gums. She has been sooo cranky. She doesnt sleep well at night and is in noticeable pain. I have tried every home remedy there is and she likes her teething ring but gets tired and annoyed of it after a while. I was looking online and found http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100357&navAction=jump&navCount=3&nug=VPD&skuid=sku5482961&id=prod5484094, gentle naturals natural teething liquid with chamomile. Does this stuff work? Or is the regular baby orajel better? The teething tablets do nothing for her. What is the best teething med that provides long lasting and immediate relief? and will infant motrin help and ease the pain??? thanks
Why is this period so horrible? I usually have pretty horrible periods - diarrhea before and/or during my periods, cramps, loss/increase in appetite, headache, etc. That is normal for me. I went on and off with birth controls for about 6 months or more. I went off because depression actually kicked in, so my doctor prescribed an anti depressant for me that he said would also help with my PMS issues. I am 21, active and eat very healthy. This period in particular has me concerned. The first day on my period, I have this horrrrible taste in my mouth all day. It was NOT a metallic taste. It was just badness that wouldn't go away no matter how many times I brushed me teeth. I also felt very close to throwing up. That went into the second day, but it was not as bad. Then I had cramps as usual, but for some reason felt so weird that I didn't really want to eat. I woke up the next day hypoglycemic as hell and had some major issues with stomach being upset, cramps and just feeling like I was going to pass out no matter what I managed to force down my throat. Today, I have craved sweets (normal for me while on period), had a limited amount but had a very strange gurgling in my tummy all day with odd hunger pangs and a lot of gas. I would feel hungry but then a wave of nausea would come over me, so I couldn't make up my mind whether to eat or not. Just now, I was woken up with extreme nausea with severe abdominal pains and feeling like I was going to have diarrhea. I happen to be emotophobic, so I've learned natural remedies to stop myself from throwing up - I drank some flat Pepsi and took a teaspoon full of honey. I am feeling a bit better now, but still cannot sleep. My question: Has anyone experienced similar issues? I know that supposedly your body changes every 7 years. I have always had horrible periods, but maybe my hormones are changing? I am so confused here. And, I'm not pregnant. I still have my periods and do not have a baby tummy. Thanks, guys.
