How many stores should I register for my Baby Shower? This is my first baby, and I guess you can say I went a little crazy with the baby registry. I'm just excited I can't help it. I registered at many different stores, but I'm not too sure which ones to actually put on the invitation. My mom told me to just choose one place, but I tried, and I can't choose. My boyfriend and I have HUGE families from ALL OVER who will be attending. The stores I narrowed it down to are BabiesRus, Target, and Baby depot, is this to many?

When should I have my baby shower? We moved from Ohio to Seattle in November and I got pregnant soon after. I have one cousin here and no friends to speak of. My family and friends are all in Ohio. What is the best way to do my baby shower. I know you are not supposed to travel far in the third trimester, I am considering almost all the way across the country far. So if I plan my shower early is there any way anyone knows of to not have to haul lots of stuff back with me? I want to register at Babiesrus and be able to have larger items shipped to me or held at the local store. I feel bad asking people to deal with shipping but can't think of anything else. Any ideas or suggestions?

Co-ed Baby Shower...What do we do? My manager is having a baby, so we've all decided to throw her a surprise baby shower. It was going to be just the girls, but one of the guys had a serious problem with that so now we've got guys and girls coming. Now, I've been looking at different sites to help us plan the party, but all the information I've been finding relates to girls only parties, or smaller shindigs. We're having around 30 guests that have already RSVP'd as a yes. My question is what should we do during the party? What kind of games should we play (if any), what kind of music...basically, what will be good for a baby shower that won't make the guys leave after being there for five minutes? And our theme is ladybugs. We've got pretty much everything except a stuffed animal. So if you have any idea of a store I can go to to buy a ladybug stuffed animal, I'd really appreciate it. I've gone to Target, Wal-Mart, BabiesRUs, ToysRUs, pet stores...I'm trying the Disney Store tomorrow, but if you know anyplace else (not online) it'd really help out.

The best Catalogs to go through when deciding on a them for a baby's room? I've searched through some online stores, and nothing really grabs me. I remember one magazine that I use to get that had great ideas for a baby's room, but haven't received it in a while and I think my subscription is out. Should have kept one, but it's been a while and I have a thing about not keeping things I don't use. I end up throwing them out, or giving them away. Baby funiture,Is it too soon to buy? I'm 22 weeks pregnant and was wondering is it too early to purchase my baby funiture. I'm buying the crib, changing table and dresser. Everything else is going on my registry. I think that I'm a little better at just buying things when I have the money other than trying to save for later. And also can anybody suggest and good stores that I can purchase from so far I'm only thinking of babiesrus because they have the best quality I've seen. Thanks in advance for the help.

Pregnancy/Baby Registry/ Mother in Law Issue--sorry it is a bit long? So, my mother in law notoriously does not buy from gift registries. For my bridal shower, she went ot the local Hallmark store and bought everything wedding related she could find rather than just buying something we obviously wanted and needed. For my husband's cousin's wedding, she went to buy the vacuum they registered for. BUT...she bought a different one because it was a little cheaper, and in her words, "better than the one the girl wanted." So, my husband and I are 8 months along and took a very long time to carefully plan our registry (looking at consumer reports, reviews, recall lists, ect). Well, we wanted the "my little lamb" swing and registered for it at BabiesRus. Target then had a sale where the swing was $10 cheaper, so she went and bought it. That was totally fine, especially because she told my husband and we were able to remove it from the registry so we didn't end up with 2 and have to do more returning than necessary. It took me OVER a month to finally settle on a glider...I chose the Dutalier XL reclining glider in cherry with a beige fabric (we chose not to find out the sex of the baby, so everything in the nursery is cream and very light tan). So, for Christmas, my mother in law gave us a glider...which was not even close to the one on our registry. She went to BabiesRus on Black Friday and bought a Shermag glider in this really dark brown/green color for us because it was only $150. When they gave it to us, of course we were appreciative and everything. But for days I agonized over whether to tell them that it was not even close to the one we want for OUR nursery and OUR child. So, a week later I called my MIL. I told her that I did not want to hurt her feelings, but that the glider they gave us was not the one from the registry and that we wanted a different one. I asked her if she minded if we returned it and we would just pay the difference for the one we want. She was totally fine with it, but said that they wanted to keep the glider for their house (they have another grandchild who is 10 mos.) and they would give us the money for it. So, I thought everything was fine. Well, we went over their house the other night and my MIL, FIL, and my husband's aunt and sister never looked at me or acknowledged my presence for the entire hour we were there. I have no idea what is going on, but it seems to me that she has made some kind of a big stink over this and now no one looks or speaks to me, and I am 8 months pregnant...why would they want to make me stressed now??? I would like advice on how to handle the situation and what I should do/feel. Thank you for reading this book, which is not even a 1/16 of the thing I have had to deal with in that family. It is just so upsetting because I tried to handle the situation like an honest adult. I knew his family was super weird and loves to create waves and problems, but I thought they would take a que from my honesty and my effort to include them in exactly what we are going for. Now it is my fault and I am the queen B. She has doen this kind of thing before...she is similar to a snake. She is one way to your face and will go behind your back in a heartbeat...she even does this to her daughter in law who is 8 months pregnant! She constantly needs to feel banded together in a group, she constantly needs attention, and is constantly looking for pity and will do anything to accomplish that. I was going to just exchange it myself, but 1. they decided to take it out of the box and put it together. So, I have to have the receipt to exchange it because there is no box, and 2. I figured it would hurt their feelings more if they came over and noticed the glider wasn't there. So, I was actually trying to prevent that. Thank you all so much. I would have totally just taken it back for store credit, but the store said because it was assembled and no box that we would get nothing without a receipt. A little update...my MIL acted fine to my face when I talked to her about it and said no problem and that they would keep the rocker and give us the money for it so we can get the one we want. Well, she made a HUGE stink to the rest of the family and told them that I called her and said all kinds of rude things about it...to the point where no one looks at me. So...what to do, what to do? She has now made this all about herself as she usually does and I am left alone and isolated. I had a panic attack yesterday and couldn't breathe right. So, I am tired of being hysterical and just want to be numb to that dysfunctional (at best) family. My baby will be better off too I think!

returning baby shower gitfs with no recipe? i got tons of formula at my baby shower. the problem is my baby only can drink soy formula. i also got bottles all un opened, i already have alot of bottles and i want to stick to one brand Vent air* i just want to trun in these 2 3 packs in for some store cerdit. i also have alot of bed sheets and believe me my mother made alot of blankets and sheets burp pads. and a few packs of new born diapers, my little girl just grew out of newborns I went to babiesRus and they ask for a recipe, but because they where all gifts i didn't get any recipes with them. i cant find these baby bottles anywhere!! nuby natural touch. ? i read an ad on these bottles in the new american baby magazine..nuby natural touch bpa free bottles..it said babiesrus and target,i think,had them....ive looked at the stores and searched online,nothing!!...some places overseas had them online and they were a fortune..i looked at nuby.com it talks about them and sows them but you cant order anything thru the site...has anyone seen or purchased these?

How to keep baby's socks on? Now that it's colder, I always put socks on my 9-1/2 month old when she goes to day care. However, her socks don't stay on for even 10 minutes. They either come off when she scoots around or she pulls them off by herself. I'm concerned that her feet may get cold. Is there a way to keep her socks on? Should I put shoes on her and which ones are recommended (I heard putting shoes might interfere with learning to walk)? Also, anyone know where I can find footed pants for her. I've looked at all major stores (target, babiesrus etc.), but couldn't find any.

I am having two baby shower's. I registered at Babies'r'us for one of them. The other one I registered at Kohl 's and Walmart. The problem is they dont have a very big selection. I even checked out Target...Not too impressed. Any other store suggestions....I would like to just have one store for my second shower but I wanted to give people different price ranges. How can I report this incident that happened at Babiesrus? This morning, at babies r us, something happened that I wish the associates would of handled differently. My daughter got sick, and I asked the cashier to call the janitor or someone. So she called someone and they told her that I had to clean it up myself, with no help. Lets just say that I'm infuriated. I would expect something like this from walmart or another store, but not babies r us. This store caters to parents with children, therefore should be prepared for anything. Before someone says that I shouldn't take my daughter out if she was sick, I agree. But she wasn't sick. She was perfectly fine, until we got in line to pay. But back to the original question, Where can I call to report my dissatisfaction? No Im not mad that I had to clean up after my daughter, I do it all the time, it's the way they handled it. They should of given me a mop and water, that would of helped, they just gave me some kleanex and a shopping bag. And everyone was just starring at me giving me awful looks, like if I'm the 1st and only person that this has happen to. I swear I regret buying the things, I should of just left all the stuff there with the throw up! Kristy: That's there JOB!!!! THEY are getting paid for it NOT me! Customer Satifaction! ice cube trays for baby food? Hi again. Besides babiesrus.com & target.com where else (in a store perhaps for less money) can I find ice cube trays with lids? I have looked at Walmart stores & Target as well but none have lids. Is it some special order thing that if you want you HAVE to buy it at one of the places I mentioned above for the ridiculous amount of money they are asking? Or can I find them in a store cheaper? Or even online but cheaper? I want to make some of my daughter's food. I did bananas today. She wasn't the fondest of it but I'd like to try more. Thanx! no carrots? I thought vitamin A is good. I made my baby registry. There are a few expensive items on there. My bedding is as much as my crib. It's from babiesrus...its $189.99......I really want this bedding but if someone doesnt buy it for me im afriad with everything i else i will need to buy it wont get bought....are there any stores that have cute bedding sets that arent so expensive or is this average price its a six piece set.

Question about BabiesRUs? Ok, so my MIL bought my son an adorable outfit from Babies R Us for this winter. The problem is that there is no way its going to fit him. I brought the outfit into the store to exchange it for the exact same outfit in a different size and they told me they no longer take exchanges without a receipt. My question is...Do you think if i bought the same outfit in size 12mos that I could return the other one (size 18mos) with the new receipt. I really like the outfit. I know its ridiculous, but will the new receipt list the size of the outfit? I already told them what happened, the used to be wonderful about exchanges. I don't see what the problem was....I was getting the exact same item! I just googled "babiesrus exchange policy" and they recently changed their policy, I found several other rants about it. -K. my son is only 5 1/2 months old and is just getting into size 9 mos (he will be size 12 mos this winter) there is no way that he will be in size 18 mos until this summer

What Pack N Play do you recommend? (With the specs I need)? What Pack N Play would you recommend ? Im going to use this in my room for when the babys born to sleep in rather then a bassinett and then also have the pack n play I only want to get one item. Toysrus brand diapers? Ok I have asked several diaper questions over the last couple of days and I should have done it all in one question :). But we are currently using pampers baby dry and a few huggies and every brand we have used we are having poop explosions out of. My 4 month old is teething and having "the poops" so I don't want to waste money on the premium brands if they are going to leak just like store brands, I mind as well just buy the store brand. So I am trying to decide which to try toyrus brand or walgreens they are both on sale this week. Toysrus/babiesrus brand is on sale 2 for $35. I have actually tried there supreme ones and they were very absorbent and had new stretchy sides like name brands but were to thick and stiff. So I want to know about the ultra thin ones they carry as well. How do they look, feel, absorb, and do they have a sturdy leg cuff or work overnight? Any input on the ultra thins is appreciated or any other brand that might get the job done. Thanks!!!

(pocket cloth diapers)? my baby girl is now a month old suffering diaper rash... i tried every diaper brand out there and she is still getting rash =( yes i tried every brand of diaper rash cream too but it doesnt seem to help much.. my pediatrician said shes just extremely sensitive and i should start on cloth diaper... i heard many good things about them and i have no problem changing her diapers to cloth but i dont know which brand!! uh-oh... i searched online and i didnt know which one... which ones your favorite?? i bought some at babiesrus ( they only had few choices) and they are bulky and not too soft. ( also leaked ) is there one thats reasonably thin and soft? and of cors it needs to be absorbent!! a website or a store to buy will be highly appreciated! add: i look around and found BumGenius. how do you use these?? everytime baby needs diaper change do i just pull the pad out? or do i change the whole thing?? i am confused have anyone tried bumgenius 3.0? its a one size diaper, isnt it really bulk?

Getting a job at 28 weeks pregnant? I'm 28 weeks pregnant, and while I was having morning sickness around 8 weeks or so, I was having a hard hard time working. I needed to eat frequently or I'd get lightheaded and throw up, I needed frequent time to sit from the dizziness, and being the lead technician in a busy grocery store pharmacy was VERY hard. My boss was really difficult, he wouldn't let me sit, we weren't allowed to have snacks or even water in the pharmacy area and my job was threatened when I took an extra 5 minutes on my lunch because I was throwing up. They were unwilling to accommodate me at all, even knowing that it would sooner or later go away. Well, I was forced to quit around 12 weeks, and for the past three months I've done nothing but sit at home, not earning money, no other children to care for and my husband is deployed. I haven't left my house, let alone my bed in days, simply because there's no point. I'm starting to get depressed. I decided I would try and get a seasonal job, since my baby is due in January I can work through Christmas with no problem.. that would bring in some extra money for Christmas or baby, and give me something to do, and pass the days while my hubby is gone. I started applying online, and lo and behold I have an interview tomorrow morning for a seasonal position at BabiesRUs. (Ironic, I know!) My question is: Anyone else worked retail through a pregnancy? I'm not high risk and have had no complications other than a little sciatica which is luckily going away. Is there anything (other than actually GETTING the job) that would make it difficult to work through Christmas? I'm really looking forward to getting out of the house, do you think a retailer would be accommodating to my pregnancy, as far as doctor appointments and things? Any advice is appreciated :)

How can/should I sell this crib set ? & For how much? This Set "Was" on BO for 2 mths, I found a store in Downtown Boston that had a display (final Sale) set and I bought it for $160.... Why is crib bedding so expensive? I dont get it, it is bedding that is 1/4 th the size of regular adult bedding, why is it so expensive.?????? I found gorgeous crib bedding in a store- did not look at price- come home - google it - find out it is 639$ for a 4 piece set!!!!!! and the stuff at babiesRUs is not any better at 180-250 for a set, why is this? babies r us gift card fraud? babiesRus, was given 2 gift cards for a good amount of monney, well... balance when back to zero on its own... I went to the store and I am told there is no monney on a $300 card that was still glued to its support... Someone has been spending the monney? Where did the monney go? I have been told "we are investigating..." It has been nearly a month now and two phone calls later still nothing. Anyone else got scammed with babies R us gift cards?

Any other non-mainstream products I should know about? 1) Baby Wraps - These things are awesome! They look beautiful and they're safe and comfortable. Why would I buy a high tech carrier when all I need is a strip of pretty fabric? 2) Cloth Diapers - I was convinced these were a thing of the past, but now that I look into it I'm shocked to see what is available! There are tons of types of diapers! I don't even have to learn how to fold them if I buy the contoured kind. There's even a diaper service in my area, and I didn't even know what a diaper service was! So anyway, as a soon to be new mommy I'm learning about most of the baby products I'll need by filling out registries at target.com and babiesrus.com. But those two things aren't available at mainstream stores like that! I couldn't even find a diaper pail that wasn't the high tech genie type, which is part of what led me to believe no one used cloth diapers anymore. So my question is, what other awesome products are they hiding from me? Wow you guys are awesome! Z shaped handle on infant car seats? We're looking at buying an infant car seat, but I'm not really sure what to look for. What are your opinions on the Z shaped handles on infant car seats? Is it worth it? I personally don't notice a difference in comfort when carrying that or the old style, but I've only picked them up in the stores and I'm pretty short so no matter which one I carry, I bang them against my legs... My baby's father really wants to get the Z shaped handle because he has heard that it's so much better. The only reason I question it is because I am having a hard time finding car seats with this handle. I looked on babiesrus.com and they have the largest selection of all the other things I've looked into buying, however they only have one of the Z shaped handled car seats. Makes me wonder if they're actually all that great.....

Free shipping at babies r us? Does any one if babiesrus.com has any free shipping deals? I know with some online stores they have if you spend over a certain amount of $ they will give you free shipping. Does any one know of one for babiesrus?

Babies R Us, unfair treatment/policies? Ok two things have happened to me recently at this store, please tell me if I make sense of if I'm wrong: 1. They sell a 24 oz. can of Nestle Good Start for $24.99. However, for the past few months, they have been stocking the same can but at a larger size, 30 oz. On the can it clearly states "25% more FREE!". They are selling the larger can at $26.99. I told them the can should be the same price as the 24 oz, because the 25% is meant to be FREE. They would not change the price. I have worked in retail and any time the manufacturer sends you a bonus, you sell it at the same price as the regular item. Opinions on this? 2. My husband bought a box of Huggies wipes (big box) with a $2.00 BabiesRUs coupon. I did not want Huggies (just a personal preference) so I went back (6 days later) to exchange it for Pampers. They are the same price. The coupon is for Huggies OR Pampers. So it would be an even exchange. Anyway, the cashier charged me the regular price (without the $2.00 coupon). I said why is this? She said because the coupon is expired. I said but that coupon was not expired at the time that I bought the item. She would not budge. Neither would the manager, so I got a refund instead and just going to use a coupon at a later time. I do not think that I am being unfair. Opinions on this please?? Thank you!
