Wild baby bunny-care and release.? I found a wild baby bunny in my window well. He had been there a couple of days (according to my in-laws who live in my basement!). I am guessing he's several weeks old. He has fur, eyes open and was pretty alert. I gave him some water, grass, dandelion and clover immediately because I knew he had no food or water for several days. He ate lots. I am keeping him warm and have gotten him some timothy pellets and some alfalfa hay and a water bottle. He seems to be doing well. I want to release him but found no rabbit holes or nests in the area that I found him. There are some young baby bunnies in my backyard under my shed, but they are alot bigger than him. Should I just stick him there and hope the mommy bunny takes care of him? Will any "mommy" care for him? I also have a beagle that is digging around the shed and trying to get at the bunnies. I am really afraid he will eat the baby if it doesn't know where to go. Please help!! Thanks in advance! Laws re: wild animals are different in every state. In most states, it is illegal to purposely catch and "keep" any wild animals as pets. My intention is not to keep it as a pet but to simply give it a fair chance of survival.

Injured baby bunny care? my parents dog brought up a baby bunny (they are all over the place where they live), and my dad was able to get it away from him. But, his front foot is apparently broken. We checked to see if he has teeth and it appears he does. All the websites say take him to a vet, but we just can not afford to take a wild bunny to the vet. I know that it is slim chances for him, that bunnies are tricky to rehabilitate (especially babies). Any one know what we could try to do to help him? I wrapped his foot loosly to his body so he would not try to hop on it and maybe it would not hurt him as much. What can we try to feed him (he was out eating so i assume he is eating food now)

How to take care of baby bunny? Hi! My dog today found a baby bunny, and was sniffing and picking it up. I got the bunny out of her reach, and now I realize it has a hurt leg. It's limping. The ears are still glued to it's head, but the eyes are open. Have any suggestions on what to do? My dog didn't hurt it. I think something else hurt it and the bunny escaped or something. Should i release it back to the wild? My dog just found ANOTHER. I went over to see if it was ok, and this one had blood on it. The 2nd bunny has fur missing, u can see flesh. And it's bleeding near the tail and body. I think something got to them.

baby bunny nest with babies in it, how do i kno if the mother is taking care of them? I was cutting grass and went over a bunny nest, didn't kill any but one jumped out and was trying to get back in and couldn't find his way (eyes are still closed) without thinking i picked it up and put it back in with the others. I am now afraid that the mother will not tend to them because i touched it. How will i kno if mom is taking care of them? It's been two days and i haven't seen mom anywhere. The babies are still in there and alive but i'm worried i may have given them a death sentence because i touched one of them. They are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand but they have fur. Their eyes aren't quite open yet. When i check the nest i wear a rubber glove, i don't touch the babies but i lift the grass up to see them and they start hopping a little. After a minute or two they stop. What can i do to make sure they are being fed? How do i kno when they are ready to go on their own? They are so cute, i know they are wild but i still worry because they are babies. Help me!

Taking care of a baby bunny? My cats are always killing things and bringing them to me...it's gross but they are gifts so I just get rid of them and move on; but last night I caught my cat with a baby bunny rabbit and luckily it was still alive. I cleaned its wounds but now have no clue as to what I am suppose to do next. I tried giving it kitten milk through a feeder but it won't take it. I have taken some college courses toward a degree in veterinary science but this was not in the lesson. The vet charges way too much, what can I do to save the poor little guy? (he's about one month old)
What is the proper way to care for a baby bunny? ok so to start off with tonight our cat brought us a baby bunny who is from my first instinct 2 weeks old. every thing is ok with it. its not hurt. so i went to the vet clinic i work at and got some kittens milk replacement and a bottle and a syringe because i didnt think it would drink from the bottle. any way i got him some pine bedding....i just read that your not supposed to give them that? im not sure. i have raise baby kittens and bunnies and well everything you could think of, but its been a while on the baby bunny raising so i was just needing a refresher course and some tips and ideas. we named him "Lucky" because its not very often that somthing lives when the cat gets it. and i think i might know where he came from but now that we have touched it im afraid that the mom wont claim him. and i read somthing about the white spot on the head, someone on here asked about it, what does that mean? does it go away?
Baby Bunny Help! Age, Treatment, and Care ? How? So, my brother and I found a nest of 4 baby bunnies right out side the house. We decided to take them in, since there was a rabbit right across the street ran over, assuming it was their mother. We put the little guys in a big plastic box (the ones you would move with) a small piece of cardboard, a towel, and some grass, twigs, dirt, from where they originally were. I know, the right thing to do according to everyone is put them back, but without a mother, we're sure that we want to take care of them. So, i want some answers, not lectures on how its cruel or something, by taking these animals in. They're regular sized baby bunnies, eyes arent fully opened, fur is fully on them, with the cutest little ears ever. Im guessing they're around 2 weeks old, but thats just me, so i'd like to know the age estimate for them. We are going to go to the pet shop first thing tomorrow, to get things to take care of them. I'd like some tips on how to care for them, and what to buy, what they need, etc. So please, help me out ? (: Thanks for your time ! - Lauren **By the way, im going to care for them until they're good enough on their own. I may get them shots and maybe sell them out, but like an answer i got they are wild animals, and i was planning on maybe keeping one if things turn out good - but if not, caring for them until they're okay on their own and letting them go

How to care for baby wild rabbits? I found a hole in my back yard yesterday with about 6 baby bunnies in it. I watched for the mother, but she has yet to return....should I go ahead and scoop them out and try to care for them? If so, what do I need? Thanks!
How do you care for orphaned baby bunnies? Before you attack, let me explain. I have four orphaned cottontailed (I think) bunnies. There mother was killed by a wild animal (not sure what kind). I am feeding them KMR and I need to know how much to feed them and how often. I have done my homework, but I want someones opinion that has done this before. The bunnies eyes have been open for 6 days. I know they open around 10 days so I am assuming they are about 16 days old. I have been using an eye dropper to feed them and they suck down two droppers twice a day. SHould I be feeding them more? What about Timothy hay? Is it too early. I haev pellets in there, but I think its too soon, they wont eat them. They have the water bottle down and suck on it all day. Any other advice or words of wisdom? answer here or email me at ckjess19@aol.com Thanks

What are the basic guidelines to taking care of a wild bunny? About a week ago, my girlfriend's dog dragged two living baby bunnies (both male) onto her doorstep. (Obviously without their mother) She said they looked like they'd been alive two days at the least. She decided she wanted to take care of them, so I have some questions. 1. Other than kitten formula, what do they eat this early on? 2. Do they need alot of water? 3. What should they be contained in? Please add any other important details to raising bunnies like this.

Can you help me with my baby bunny question? I was recently going through my garden and pulling weeds and happened to stumble upon a huge clump of rabbit hair that was grown into the mulch. I moved the hair out of the way, and to my surprise i found two baby bunnys and they were jumping at me. I am very afraid because i have touched the baby bunny now and am worrying if the bunnys mother will abandon it. Is this true? Please, give me ANY help or advice you have, i would hate for the mother to not care for her bunnys any longer.
Help!!! How do you take care of baby bunnies???? We saved these two rabbits several months ago from a woman who was tired of them and about to turn them loose into the woods. It is a 7 year old female and a 5 year old male. We were told she was too old to have babies, and they seemed so fond of each other we decided to keep them together. Well, I woke up to find 3 baby bunnies this morning............2 of them had been chewed all up by the male I guess, and unfortunatly they died. Why did he do that??? There is still one though, and I am so scared because I don't want anything to happen to this little guy. What can I do to ensure he will be okay??? I have never had rabbits! I already taken the father away from them. Please any advice from anyone who knows about rabbits would be great!!!

What to do with a baby cottontail.? My cat came home with a baby cottontail is his mouth. It was screaming like crazy. When I went to the door, the cat dropped it and the bunny tried to hop off. He doesn't appear to be hurt, but I have no idea where the nest is. There are no wildlife rehabilitators close by. What do I do? The bunny is about 4 inches long at most, his eyes are open, but his ears aren't up yet. I've read that even in the best care, baby bunnies don't live. What can I do?
