Public Response to When did your baby sleep through the night?

  1. She slept through night after we placed her upstairs in her own room, in her own bed. It was her 3 month birthday. She had been down in our room in a pack n play. We had a small fan on her for noise. I went up three times to make sure she was breathing. She slept ten hours!
  2. My son is 14 weeks and goes down about 10:00pm 11:00pm and wakes about 5:00am. Eats then goes right back down and sleeps till 9:00am. This morning he slept till 11:00am but didn't go down till around 1:00am in the morning. So im ok with that. But I make sure I feed his belly good and full by his last feed around 10:00pm and then I put him in his own bed now. Crib away from are bed. He's still in are room but not by the bed anymore and I find him sleeping so much better now.
  3. My twins slept through the night at 4 months. I added rice cereal to the bottle for reflux, gave them a warm bath with Johnson and Johnson's Bedtime Bath, then turned on the white noise machine and that did the trick! Every time I use Johnson & Johnson's Bedtime Bath, I get at least an extra hour of sleep! It works!
  4. My daughter has been sleeping through the night since she was 2 weeks old. I know people talk against it (just like co-sleeping) but I have always propped a bottle up for her when I first lay her down in her bassinet. After about 10 minutes (when she is sound asleep), I just pull the bottle out of her mouth. She won't take a pacifier, so that's like her security blanket. She goes to sleep around 11pm. Around 8am, she will coo until I prop another bottle in her mouth. After she falls asleep and take it out, she sleeps for another few hours.
  5. I started putting a little cereal in my son's bottle around 3-5 months. I started with about half a teaspoon of rice cereal for 6 ounces, and made it up to about 1 1/2 teaspoons before I started him on real food. He almost always slept 6-8 hours starting about 6 weeks, but I'm told I didn't sleep through the night till I was 5 (night terrors). I did have to start leaving him be when he cried, though. If you go and pick him up whenever he cries, he will know that crying gets him held. Let him cry for 10-15 minutes before you go check on him, unless you think something is seriously wrong. Just talk to him calmly, rub his back, (or whatever side is up) and get him to calm down. If this works, then he's just looking for attention. You may have to let him cry for a few nights (maybe a week) before he figures out that you're not going to pick him up whenever he cries at night. Tough love, but you'll appreciate the sleep later. It was hard for me to leave him to cry at first, but when I knew nothing was wrong, it got a little easier. Good Luck!
  6. My daughter started sleeping through the night at about 3 months. She was exclusively breastfed at the time if that matters. She is now 5 months and still sleeps through the night. Fingers crossed lol....
  7. GOOD LUCK! My son is 11 months and doesn't sleep through the night cereal does not work. He is a peeing machine and everytime he gets wet he wakes up and so do I. I can't wait for the sleeping through the night but I don't see it happening anytime soon and I guess that's ok he will only be little this one time.
  8. My son sleep through the night at 14 mths but you may get lucky. You can't give your baby any solids until he is around 6 mths. He will sleep though when he is a lot older.
  9. my dear....Mine are 15-14-8 and 5....and its 1:30 am and I STILL have one awake watching friggin barbie christmas carroll on the dvd player and we have a 5:30 am basketball practice....lol....just get sleep out of your mind and go with the flow.....lol good luck dear....Im sure it Will become more bearable...(trust me!) and yes, the cereal will help however there is a very high risk of juvenile diabetes linked to giving cereal to early....some agree and some don't...My oldest was 15 pounds by the time he was 2 mos old....(he was over 10 at birth)....so he basically needed a pizza and a pint to put him to sleep!~ Hes perfectly healthy....none of my others were quite so huge so they just took the bottle and I was already accustomed to no sleep since having my gentle giant (he's 6'5 and over 200 lbs now....thus the 5:30 am basketball practice! ) and ~ I still have to give him cereal before bed! lol
  10. My baby could do it (like 10 hours) by the time he was about 5 months. But, he has reflux (acid reflux, but bad) so whenever he has a tummy ace from that it throws everything off. Plus, he got a cold and that messed his sleep habits up. Then, about 2 weeks later after I got him sleeping good at night again he got the flu. So, now we are back to a 3-4 hour sleep schedule. Hes 8 months.. anything at this age will mess up their sleep habits and you have to start all over again.
  11. My daughter is 6 months and still not sleeping through the night. She gives me about 5 hours, then gets up to eat a bottle and then back to sleep for another 2-3 hours or so. Cereal you can start as early as 4 months but it is recommended starting closer to 6 months. And it should be fed with a spoon, not put in the bottle.
  12. My daughter slept through the night at about 8 weeks. She was a very sleepy baby. I think the key is making sure that your son gets enough to eat during the day & try to keep him awake for a while after a feeding during the day. The idea is to get in a full feeding, have some awake time & then nap. A good eat/sleep cycle during the day helps them sleep through the night. Your son is still very young, and he might need night feedings for a while longer. Hopefully he will go for longer stretches as his schedule gets more regular. My daughter had her days & nights mixed up initially and a book that really helped me was Babywise. I highly recommend it.
