Public Response to How much water should I drink while breast feeding?

  1. I'd think twelve glasses a day.
  2. You need to drink as much as possible! 8-10 glasses a day atleast!
  3. 10 glasses of water. 20 if your husband likes to drink as well.
  4. 7 glasses a day so you don't get dehydrated.
  5. I was never a big water drinker so I just drank what I could get myself to drink. However I did notice my milk supply was linked to how much I drank! so if you notice a decrease in milk try upping your water intake.
  6. just drink it all day long...i don't think there is a correct amount...whatever mom can ingest without floating away :)
  7. a lot......sorry a little vauge. for the average person, it's eight glasses a day [not brestfeeding] so I'm gonna say maybe like fourteen?
  8. A bit more than you usuali do.
  9. Drink when you're thirsty is a good rule, but I'd keep a glass of water on the counter and every time you pass it, take a drink, because you're too busy to remember to drink.
  10. as much as u can! too much is bad also check it out. what you need to do is eat right and more the more you breast feed the more milk your breast will make but eat right your baby will take most nutrients from your body http://www.breastfeeding.com/
  11. Drink whenever you feel thirsty. Nature has made arrangement how much quantity you require and creates accordingly. Don't worry!
  12. As much as you need to keep from feeling thirsty.
  13. as much as u can
  14. Definitely drinking water helps you stay hydrated, but also try teas (they make "nursing teas") and also soups. Your milk supply will be most abundant in the morning and drop off as the day progresses...as your body becomes more tired and you are more active. Good luck! Keep up the breast feeding :)
  15. Drink to thirst. There's no need to drown yourself, it doesn't really help. My general rule was to drink every time I sat down to nurse. I got a large water jug and kept it near my nursing station--dad's job was to keep it full! and I drank as much as my body told me to drink. from the link below: " It is not necessary to force fluids; drinking to satisfy thirst is sufficient for most mothers. Unless you are severely dehydrated, drinking extra fluids is not beneficial, may cause discomfort, and does not increase milk supply. It is not necessary to drink only water - our bodies can utilize the water from any fluid. *The main message on calories and fluids -- Eat when hungry & drink when thirsty. "
  16. basically, as much as you can drink. I know that I get SUPER thirsty while nursing and can chug a whole 16 ounce glass in a few minutes
  17. A good rule to follow is everytime you set down to nurse your baby set a glass of water down next to you well you nurse.
