  1. NOOO
  2. In theory anyway, yes, breastfeeding helps lose weight. Making milk burns calories. In practice, some women find that they are ravenously hungry BECAUSE they are burning all those calories. So, if you can control your appetite, you should lose weight at a sensible rate. (Some women do hang onto 5-10 pounds until they wean -- seems to be nature's way of protecting against famine.) Beyond that -- eat sensibly, exercise sensibly (walk with baby in a sling or pushing a carriage, swim, etc.) But remember that it WILL take some time to lose the weight. You are not 'disgusting' ... you are a woman who has grown and given birth to a baby, and you're entitled to carry a little extra weight for a while. So be patient.
  3. Yes it does. Your baby consumes about 500 calories a day from your breast milk and tons of fat. It is so healthy for you and your baby. I def recommend it! You could also just start out taking a few short walks a day or one long steady walk. Walking will help to get muscles back in shape but won't wear you out too much. Plus if you find a nice relaxing trail you will feel at peace too. Having a new baby can be stressful and breast feeding and walking are calming! Have fun losing all that baby weight!
  4. um..well im glad you chose to breast feed because thats the most healthy way to feed your infant..i would suggest cardio..and eat 5-6 little meals a day and NEVER skip breakfast..you cant choose where you gain the wait, and you cant choose where you lose it either
  5. Does breast feeding help you lose weigh fast after having the baby? Breastfeeding alone may help you lose the weight you need. You may find that the 500 or so calories that you burn each day nursing translates into about 1 pound a week of weight loss, which is just perfect.
  6. Breast feeding can definitely help with the loss of the baby weight, at this time I'd start a walking regiment. You'll want to be careful about calorie restrictions when you are breast feeding, nursing mothers need about 1800 calories a day. Remember it took nine months for the weight to appear - be patient.
  7. Yes, its definitely true!!! i had c-section so i definitely couldn't do too much of anything for a while...i just breastfeed for 4 months and during that time i lost my first 30 pounds (besides the first 10 pounds after i gae birth) , i was kind of skeptical about that too but i seen for myself, i couldn't believe it...
  8. Our doctor told us that breast feeding also helps reduce the size of the uterus after birth. It may not help in actual weight loss, but it should help in making a flatter tummy.
  9. Didn't work for me..Selma said it didn't work 4 her... Lose weight fast? No such thing. Eat healthy...controlled portions and exercise..the weight will shed.
