I need help with a baby health project: Please help?
Here are three questions: - How old do infants need to be accepted into daycare? -whats the cost of daycare for one week and what is the name of the daycare? -How much does a hospital charge for the delivery of a baby? Thanks for all the help in advance

- Well, the first is that babies can go to daycare at any time. Infants will cost more per week because they need more care & attention. as far as the cost of daycare for a week, it really depends on where you go. Our daughter only goes 2 days a week & we pay $117.90 for 2 days, and that's WITH a 10% discount from my company. it can go up from there. it goes down as the child gets older, but there again, it depends on where you go. as far as cost for the delivery of the baby, that also depends on where you go, and if you have insurance & what type. when i gave birth to our daughter, we were on hubbys HMO. i think the total back in 2006 was over $14,000, including our daughter's 4 day stay in the NICU, and we only paid like $350 or something like that. it was around $100 a day give or take a few bucks. if we would have had a PPO, it might have been more. Plus it depends on if you go to a county hospital or whatnot.
- Unfortunately, all of these questions just depend on the facility and the area. My kids went to a daycare that only accepted 12 week olds and one that accepted babies from birth. The home daycare cost was $130 for infants and $110 for babies and toddlers over 1 year per week. The Daycare center cost was $280 for infants, $180 for babies over 1 year and, $150 for toddlers over 3 per week. This is the average cost for facilities in central Florida. Hospital stays after child birth completely depend on your insurance coverage and services performed. Humana HMO paid all except $200 for a vaginal delivery and epidural in 2003 and the same for my birth in 2006 without an epidural. Now I have military insurance which I pay nothing. This was also in central FL. Both births were in a hospital, which is a different cost than a birth center.
- Most daycares will start taking infants at 6 weeks... I've never seen any take them earlier. My daycare is 130 a week... whether she goes everyday or not. And if she will be out all week it is still half of 130 to hold her spot. My delivery bill was 1800 after what my insurance covered and I had a normal delivery...
- These things vary tremendously. Daycare costs differ by location, the child's age, and whether it is a center or in-home care. See the first link below for some information on costs. Hospitals are only one part of baby-related costs. The second link below is a very thorough report on the healthcare costs of having a baby. This is not limited to what the hospital charges, but also includes all the professionals whose fees are billed separately (OB, anesthesiologist) and standard laboratory tests.
