Baby Parenting Guide

When you know what? Will the amount of sperm and the speed it comes out at determine the health of the baby.?

In other words can a very weak or light ejaculation cause a baby with birth defects or health problems?. I have no experience in this yet just want to know for the future.

Public Response to When you know what? Will the amount of sperm and the speed it comes out at determine the health of the baby.?

  1. Nope. Silly troll.
  2. Studies have shown that sperm concentration doesn't do much to statistically increase the chance of a healthy baby. There are other factors that go into this over how many swimmers are in the stream.
  3. It depends. If you have a low sperm count, there may be a reason, but I wouldn't equate that to birth defects. Many men reduce their sperm count by wearing restrictive underwear, but they have healthy babies. I don't imagine any strong correlation.
  4. Only one sperm cell can fertilize an egg. It doesn't matter how many millions come out at once or with what force (or lack of it). If the sperm cells are weak swimmers they probably won't make it to the egg to fertilize it at all, but once the egg is fertilized, the health of the baby will be up to many factors, including the genes that both the egg and sperm cell contain, but not the effort it took to fertilize the egg in the first place.
