- I DON'T KNOW... OUR FIRST I HAD MEDICAID, BUT THIS ONE WILL BE BY INSURANCE.. I'M SCARED. UGH**
- Your OB bill will be around 2000.00-2500.00 Avg. NON complicated vag. birth w/epidural is around 8000.00 C-section around 15K
- Depending on your birth and where you live, if you have a normal vaginal birth with no complications it will cost roughly about $6000 or more. Then once you add all your prenatal visits and ultrasounds I think you're looking at almost $10,000. Now for a c-section the price is outrageous, the cost a c-section is usually over $12,000 plus everything else and the longer hospital stay you're looking at $20,000. If you're insurance doesn't cover it, you should look into state covered insurance for pregnant women. They will be able to help with the costs!
- It really depends on where you live and how much your hospital charges. I know for fact at my doctors office they tell you what your globalization fee is when you first start going to them. And if your insurance covers it they will tell you how much your part will be, and then you will have to pay them out once a month. And this is just the doctor visit. And it covers the visits and ultra sounds, but nothing extra. Mine was over 3000 dollars before the insurances part and over 800 after the insurance. I have to pay 150 dollars a month until its paid and it has to be paid before my 7th or 8th month. And thats not including the hospital. I know that when I have my baby i will have to pay my deductible again which is 400 and the baby is going to be about 300-700 depending on if its a boy or girl. So Im expecting to pay atleast 1000 or more after my insurance covers the rest at the hospital. Im not sure what it would be without insurance. Its not cheap at all. And I think ultrasounds are about 100 dollars or so, and you will probably get only one or two unless you have complications. I would call your insurance and see if they cover maternity and if they don't then I would see if you could qaulify for some kind of pregnancy medicade. Congrats on the little one and I hope I helped.
- I don't have insurance right now either. My dr charges 2300 for his services, but this does not cover labs or more than 1 sonogram. The hospital estimated to be around 11,000 for me and baby for a vaginal delivery with no complications or extra long stay. My dr gave me a 20% discount as long as I don't miss a payment. We have payments of $460/month to be paid off by my 7th month. He adds extra for a circumcision, c-section, assisted c-section, all the other things that could come into play that aren't part of his normal fee. Just call the hospital where you are to deliver and find out what a routine delivery would be, and when you call to make an appt with the dr make sure you tell them that your insurance may not cover. They should tell your their policy on self-pay patients. And don't ever put off applying for medicaid. In most states a pregnant, uninsured woman automatically qualifies. I don't live in a state like that, my husband makes too much money for me to qualify. When you get your hospital bill after delivery, take it to the billing department or financial assistance department of your hospital, sometimes they can knock off fees that are tacked on for insurance but can be written off for self-pay patients. If not, always remember that a hospital is a non-profit organization and as long as you make some form of payment every month, they cannot take collection action against you! Best of luck!!!
- I paid about $1,500 total WITH insurance...without it would have been about $15,000?
- You could apply for insurance through the state. Most states will approve you if you tell them that you are pregnant. Just make sure you cancel your current insurance if you do this, you don't want to commit insurance fraud. The state insurance will cover the whole bill, they did for me.
