1. A lot of times breastfeeding will delay the return of menses for several months. It depends on your body, how much you nurse your baby, and several other factors. Keep in mind you can still get pregnant even if you haven't started menstruating again!
2. Mine didnt come back until my son was 7 months. Some oms get them back right away and others not until they weant entirely. I think the average is 6 months while you are breastfeeding. Keep up the good work breastfeeding.
3. My son is 6 months old and I still haven't had a period. I'm breastfeeding.
4. Breastfeeding typically suppresses ovulation, therefore no period. Many women don't get their period until weaning, but many also have the return of their period. My baby is 6 months old and I have yet to have one due to breastfeeding - yippee! Just because you haven't had a period does not mean that you can't get pregnant, so be sure to use another method of birth control!
5. They won't come usually for 6 or 8 months but mine didn't come for a whole year.
6. For some women breastfeeding delays menses. But for me it didn't. I was exclusively breastfeeding when my menses returned. The baby was six weeks old. So it works for some, not for all.
