  1. www.wholesomebabyfood.com Amazing website! it has everything! it is organized and informative. Good luck And congratulations! also reccomended 4 months rice cereal 6 months veggies and fruits.. Start basic first and wait 4 days in between trying new things so you can tell if your child has an allergic reaction which food it was.
  2. Usually tou wait until after 6 months...my son enjoyed avacado, carrot and sweet potato mix...he also liked tofu, green beans and black beans. just be sure to introduce new foods slowly and look out for allergic reactions.
  3. You've got a while to go if she was just born yesterday! I think you've got a lot to worry about between now and then. Not sure why you're asking about feeding baby food when your daughter is in the NICU??? When you're ready, though, you can just steam veggies and mash them up. Carrots are a good first food. There are lots of cookbooks and websites to give you guidance and ideas.
  4. usually start around 6mos if she is in the NICU I would guess she may be a preemie?? If she is then you would want to start at 6 mos adjusted age or whenever the doc gives the okay. For recipes you may check out the website below, I found it to be very helpful.
  5. at 6 months of age, the digestive tract is ready for more than just mama's milk. use the same food you prepare for the rest of the family, but provide less texture by using a blender or potato masher.
  6. 6 months is about the average time. Also, you should steam the veggies or cook them, blend them, strain the cellulose out, and then they're good to go. A word to the wise for ease of food: fill ice cube trays with the veggies and freeze them. One ice cube worth of food is one serving. It's quite easy then! Just thaw and feed! LC-B
  7. Hope she gets to come home soon! Try wholesomebabyfood.com it has so much information and all sorts of recipes for you. She wont be eating baby food for a while now. You should get solids approved by her pediatrician before starting them.
