Did you get health problems getting pregnant soon after having a baby?

My baby is only 13 weeks and we are considering going in for number two soon. I am worried though about health implications for me and the baby. I've heard that there is a higher risk of miscariage and the baby can have health problems too. How soon did you get pregnant after giving birth? Did you or the baby have any health problems caused by getting pregnant so soon?

  1. I read that it is best to wait at least 6 mos so that your red blood cells have sufficient time to rebuild. Between pregnancy and labor you lose iron in your body and it takes time to build it back up. If you get pregnant immediatly after having a baby you have a higher chance of becomming anemic. I would ask your dr and see what he/she says about it. Best of Luck!!
  2. I got pregnant with my second child when my first one was 6 months old. I didn't have any health issues, but I was very, VERY tired! The first trimester is horribily tiring anyway, but add caring for a 6 month old into the mix, and it's 10 times worse. Just take lots of naps! :) I wasn't constantly sick, have miscarriages, or anything like that though.
  3. I haven't but I know someone who has. I think you would be fine, I think it's if you have back to back multiple pregnancies, not just 2 of them.
  4. my baby is 18 weeks and i am trying for another, ive not heard of any possible health problems, a friend of mine recently had a baby after getting pregnant only 3 months after her first baby was born and she hasnt had any problems.
  5. Wow ur so brave lol Im pregnant with number 1 at the moment so I havnt done it myself, but other people I know were advised to wait until 6 months so your body had time to recooperate after the birth. Congratulations with ur baby! I wish U all the best xxx
  6. My daughter was only about 8 weeks old when I became pregnant again. Both me and baby were fine and still are.
