How do you take care of Baby Mollies?

I just had baby mollies and I rescued about 2 from being eaten :( (There fast) and right now I have them in a cup. I want to keep them so how do I take care of them until there big enough to go back in the big tank? What food do I have to buy ETC. Thanks!

  1. best food is "first bites" it's a fry powder food and if you're already in the store, also get at least a 2.5 gallon tank or even a 5 gallon tank with heater and filter once home, fill it up with gravel and water from the main tank and put your fry in there you can also keep it bare bottom, which makes cleaning and siphoning off dirt easier feed them 3-4 times a day in the first 2 weeks, then slowly decrease one feeding weekly, until your'e at one feeding they're big enough around 6 weeks of age to go back into the main tank
  2. They will never grow big enough in a cup, try setting up a 2.5 gallon tank with a sponge filter and a heater. Feed them crushed flake food.=)
  3. By baby mollies - i suspect baby fish. If you dont have one of the filters that have open bottums leave them in the tank - they will die without the heater. Also you dont need to buy special food - just normal fish food, and they wont eat until they are big enough - just make sure the peices are small. Dont need to know anything else, treat them like normal fish.
  4. I currently have platy fry. I keep them in the main tank I bought a breeders net and keep them in there. I feed them flake food crushed up about 3 times at day. I noticed the first day or so they may not eat but now they eat a lot. I noticed they had a lot of waste in the net so I bought some small tubing to clean out the net. You place the tubing in the water until full and place thumb over ends and place one end in a bucket and it will syphon out the waste in your net. Tried it today works really well. Good Luck
