When do you stop giving your baby baby food and move to 100% table food?

My daughter is 13 months and she eats about half jar food and half table food. When are you supposed to be 100% done with jar baby food?

Public Response to When do you stop giving your baby baby food and move to 100% table food?

  1. We never do baby food. Straight to table foods at 6 months.
  2. My son started refusing any types of jar food around 12 months. I don't think there is a special time you should stop. But if she is doing fine with the table foods you give her. Then I'd say it's fine to stop giving her baby food. And probably healthier that way as well.
  3. Our doctor said to give her what we eat starting at 10 months (along with breastmilk). She started rejecting baby food at around that time, so it worked out well. There's no need for a 13-month-old to have any jar food.
  4. Whenever she is able to eat it. My daughter was still getting some jarred foods (mostly meats) at that age, but she got teeth VERY late and just didn't like the meat I shredded up for her. But most babies can be 100% on table foods well before their first birthday.
  5. i never used jarred food, my kids have been eating 'table food' from about 6 months old just cut up smaller, and squshed up a bit, have you tired the jarred food its disgusting i couldnt feed that to my baby, why is it always orange? that always confused me!
  6. She shouldn't be on baby food anymore- my son was eating table food at 7 months and as 100% on it by 9 months. there is not enough in baby food for a 13 month old. some people don't even use baby food, they start with table food which would actually be ideal. if you start foods at 6 months or when they are truely ready they should be able to pick thigns up and put it in their mouth and gum it. teeth have nothign to do with their ability to eat solid food. my son was 9 motnsh when he got his first tooth and only had one tooth until 11 months. he was completely on solid food before 9 months
  7. I made that call by how many teeth he had (my son had 10 teeth by the time he was 1 so he was getting all table food) my friend's son only had I think 6 so he did both for awhile. I say as long as she will eat it or you can afford it. Cut table food into small bite size pieces and let her go to town. They have those things you put fresh fruit in with mesh bags so they don't choke but I didn't waste my money just small pieces making sure ther were free from seeds.
  8. we were done with jarred food by 6 months...my son loved table food. He is 13 months as well.
