What is the best way to thaw homemade baby food?

I've read enough about making baby food to know most moms seem to agree the easiest method is to make big batches and freeze it in serving sized cubes. Just one question- what method is best to thaw out the food at feeding time? It seems microwaving would defeat the purpose of making 'better' baby food. Do you thaw it in the fridge overnight? Put it in a saucepan with a little water? Some other method I haven't thought of...?

Public Response to What is the best way to thaw homemade baby food?

  1. I'd either thaw it in the fridge overnight or put it under the faucet with warm water running on it. Once you thaw it out though if you use warm water or the microwave I wouldn't use it again, like refridgerate it and use it again the next day.
  2. Put it in a sauce pan with hot water it won't take that long to thaw.
