does the baby care if you drink while pregnant?

i mean, doctors and family members and all say that drinking is bad during pregnancy. BUT does the BABY care?

Public Response to does the baby care if you drink while pregnant?

  1. LETS SEEE.. would you care if you came out with birth defects becuase your mother drinked?
  2. I read something somewhere that said that doctors don't REALLY know what effects alcohol even has on the fetus, but I really wouldn't take the chance of drinking and causing my baby to have birth defects. I wouldn't recommend it honestly.
  3. If your doctor says you shouldn't drink while pregnant, should it matter if the baby cares or not? It's not good for the baby and could seriously harm the baby. Don't start your baby out on the wrong foot over something as stupid as drinking...
  4. That's a silly question. You should want to take care of your baby and ensure that he/she is not harmed in any way. You would want to do all you can to prevent any harm coming to your baby and clearly drinking-consuming alcohol will affect your baby negatively, right now he/she needs all the nourishing he/she can get and drinking (consuming alcohol) or any other toxic substance is out of the question and not in the baby's best interest.
  5. YES!
  6. YES it DOES! Drinking while pregnant can cause SERIOUS birth defects, including physical deformities, mental retardation, and all sorts of social problems. Please, DO NOT drink. ANYTHING you put in your body hits your baby MUCH HARDER than it hits you. Don't SMOKE, DRINK, do DRUGS, eat/drink CAFFEINATED products, or be around someone else who is smoking. STAY AWAY from this crap. You could be damaging your poor child BADLY. Continuing to drink while pregnant is SELFISH. Of COURSE the baby will care!
  7. No a fetus doesnt have "thoughts" -- it doesnt even know what drinking is. A baby doesnt begin to have logical thoughts until its a year old, and even then they arent really capable of that higher level of thinking (such as consequences of actions, cause/effect, etc). However, if you drank alot and it caused Down Syndrome, then once the child grew up it might be bothered by the fact you did that to them. A little alcohol is fine here and there (like 1 glass of wine a month), otherwise its too risky.
  8. does the baby care? No. Does the mentally challenged adult that it grow up to be, care? YES. Do the parents who have to take care of the mentally challenged child care? YES. Does DHS care? YES
  9. wow- this is kind of a no brainer!!!! the baby only cares that it's NEEDS are being met, and alcohol is NOT a need. so do a little math here sweetheart! i mean DUH really?? once the child grows up with mental handicaps, mommy will be faced with the hard questions like "how could u do this to me?!" well, was drinking all that alcohol really worth trying to justify that to your child? HELL NO!!! some mothers really need to pull their heads outta the @sses.
