Can introducting food at 5 months cause baby to spit up more?
I give him cereal and sometimes banana or applesauce baby food mixed together. Is spiting up a sign of allergy to a food? Should I wait about food. What could cause all of a sudden spiting up a lot? He's been eating for about a month and I haven't had any problems with the cereal of baby food. I also breastfeed so could this have something to do with it ?

- He's probably just getting the hang of feeding. And he's not alone: About 40 percent of young babies spit up regularly. The peak age for spitting up is 4 months. When your baby takes in air along with his breast milk or formula, the air gets trapped in with the liquid. The air has to come up, and when it does, so does some of the liquid. Babies take in a lot of nourishment in relation to their size, and some of them really like to eat, so sometimes they become overfilled and, well, overflow. A newborn's digestive system isn't fully developed, either. The muscles at the bottom of your baby's esophagus, which control whether food is coming or going, may still be getting up to speed. It's no wonder your baby creates so much laundry.
- Babies tongues don't' work quite right yet.. this is the reason.
- well im not really sure. but my sister was feeding her baby baby food at 5 months and it was ok. but it could be him producing acid reflux because my son had it. and i had to change his formula 3 different times ive never breastfed so i couldnt tell you but i thought i would give you what information i do have. hope it helps,if not im sorry
- most doctors only recommend rice cereal this early, IF anything. my doctor actually advised me to keep solely breastfeeding until my son was over 6 months. i'm sure the banana and apple sauce isn't easy on his sensitive stomach. stick to rice cereal, or if you must, rice cereal with bananas.
