Can I give a guinea pig baby food as a treat?
I have 2 female rats and for breakfast I give them a little baby food mixed with rolled oats. I'm planning on getting a guinea pig (3 weeks old), and I already know what to feed her (pellets, hay, fresh veggies, etc..). My question is can I give her the same sort of treat that I give my rats? As in the oatmeal mixed with baby food.

- sure
- yeah! As long as he's not allergic
- Don't give her sticky things to eat. Not good for her teeth.
- I don't think it is a good idea because you should stick to the food your have to give him in the right place, he/she might not die but im sure its not healthy!
- I wouldn't give it. Guinea pigs go nuts for fresh veggies, use them as a treat as well as a daily food. Fresh grass is also appreciated very much by my guys!
- i dunno, i never heard of giving a guinea pig rat baby food.
- I would be careful about the types of baby food I was using, but it should be fine. Just stick with basic vegetable flavors and the like... On a side note, I was watching a veterinary show where they used canned pumpkin as a first resort for rodents with bowel blockages. The veterinarian said it was safe to use with all rodents and most small animals, and could be used as a treat to help maintain their digestive health even when there weren't signs of problems. So this could help to change up the routine a little....
- no because its bad for there teeth and they might not eat and its sticky
- Human food is not good for animals. Especially sicky foods. please keep your pet safe, and just buy a bag of treats, not human food.
