How long can I keep opened baby food jars in the fridge?
I just started my 7 month old on baby food, and she isn't eating much at all, not liking it. So I always have alot left, and I'm unsure how long I can keep it in the fridge and feed her leftovers. Any ideas or advice would be so helpful! Thanks so much!

- I would say 3 or 4 days at the most.
- i would go with 2 to 3 days..And make sure you dont feed the baby from the jar..Always put it in to a bowl..just in case there is left overs in the jar you can put them in a fridge
- No more than 1-3 days!!! Be safe and just toss it out after 24 hours.
- i would have to say about a day or two and they are still good after that they are going bad!
- wow, that's awfully late to be starting your baby on baby food...they should start at least by 4 months...have you given your baby any oatmeal or rice cereal? it's necessary to start with those first to get your baby ready for solids... by now your baby should be on second foods...but i wouldn't recommend it for a few months... but after it's been opened, 2 days at the most...
- I think it does actually say on the jar, and each one may be different depending on whether you're feeding organic or not, but generally don't feed her anything that has been opened past 3 days at the very latest. You should be introducing foods consistently for the first couple of months anyways, so an opened jar of apples should be finished by day 3. Mon am = apples (1/3 jar) Tues am = apples (1/3 jar) Wed am = apples (jar empty.)
- I would say 1-2 days. Also be sure that you don't feed your baby from the jar. You should take a small portion out and put it in a bowl first. Otherwise bacteria (from the baby's mouth from the spoon) could grow in the jar and then you would have to throw it all out within an hour.
- 2 days
- If you are feeding directly from the jar you must throw away the leftovers, but if you are scooping out a bit in a dish you can save what is left in the jar for 2-3 days, it actually says that on some labels. Just keep trying eventually the baby will like the foods.
- it says 2-3 days
- If you feed from the jar you shouldn't reuse it because of bacterial growth and the saliva braking down the food and making it watery. If you feed from a bowl Meat is 2 days fruit & vegetables is 3-4 days This is what it says on the jars I have.
