What good ideas do you have for reusing baby food containers?

I have those Gerber plastic baby food containers piling up. I hate to throw them away because they seem like great little containers.

  1. great for sorting nuts and bolts! And you can use them for some art activities with your children.
  2. If you put in a few beans or rice in it and tape it good, you will make a great instrument for your child!
  3. I use them to store small servings of leftovers in the freezer.. They worked great when my babies started eating table foods, I would freeze small portions and thaw and serve for lunches, the containers would usually survive a couple times through the dishwasher and the freezer, I have also used them to make pudding and jello cups for my other kids, the portions were pretty good that way and were cheaper than the premade ones. also if you go to Ebay and look around for the Want It Now and type in baby food containers, some crafters are willing to pay money for them and you could list them for auction if there is a demand.
  4. They are, last night I used them to put whipping cream in and shake to make butter. I did it as an art activitie with my wed night group. You can also use them to make all kinds of things with. Decorated with stickers by children make great mothers day trinket boxes, or fathers day bolt containers. You can use them to sort seeds with if you are a planter, or make your on chea pet and stick it in the container to grow. You can make your on baby food and store it in the containers but don't use more than one more time on that. Your kids can put bugs in them and poke wholes in the top. They would probably help make a good sand castle at the beach. You can get that tacky glue and decorate them with all kinds of jewels, just another type of trinket box. You could store stickers in them and give them out as a tiny gift to your child when they do something good. I not sure if they are deep enough to die easter eggs in, but they might be. They would hold cheereos for the little ones snack, you know how every one always have cheeros for the baby to eat. Well, I am running out of ideas. Those are just a few thoughts.
  5. bring them to an elementary school or church, they will love to have them for crafts, use them for sewing needles or pins, decorate as little gifts, to decorate gifts,
  6. I have a fun idea for reusing the Gerber baby food jars. I made butter with my kids. Pour heavy cream in the jar (3/4 full), shake it vigorously for about 10-15 minutes, and tada - you have butter. It was a great lesson and great fun for my kiddies. They love spreading butter on their toast that they made all by themselves.
  7. I know others said "crafts", but I like them specifically for beads, since they are clear and stack nicely.
  8. I donated mine to the elementary school down the street for them to make craft projects, the kids loved them!
