Public Response to When should a baby sleep on his stomach?

  1. its never a good idea to put her to sleep on her tummy but if she can roll over and she rolls onto her tummy herself its fine, if it were me id roll her back onto her back though when shes sound asleep
  2. Put her to sleep on her back, and when she's old enough to roll over onto her belly on her own, it's safe for her to sleep that way.
  3. yes she can be on her tummy. my doc had my son on his tummy at 3 months because he had a flat head and said that kaleb needed to be on tummy as much as possible, but then again every baby is different. I would for sure ask your daughters doctor. Because on average they should start to roll over and crawl by 6-8 months. my son is 8 months and just started crawling. I would do some research online and ask the doc.
  4. I dont care what anyone says about this my baby has been sleeping on his stomach since 2 months. He refused to sleep on his back, he'd lay there and cry and cry and cry. So I said never again and he's been just fine ever since.
  5. your baby makes that decision when they are old enough turn themselves on their belly than it is safe
  6. My 1st baby was really snotty as a baby and half way through the night would wake up struggling to breathe coz it was going down her throat so I used to turn her onto her tummy. She then favoured that position and slept alot better when put down on ther tummy - but it scared me everytime!! My 9wk old baby boy also has a really snuffly nose and I am finding myself doing exactly the same thing - at approx 4-5am I turn him onto his tummy. Its your decision whether to go against the advice but personally, I dont think it does them any harm xxx
  7. put her to sleep on her back! but if she rolls over onto her tummy herself thats fine!
  8. Our pediatrician advised me to put Noah to sleep on his back for as long as I could (once he started rolling over, there really wasn't any stopping him!). So, at around 5-6mths, I would still put him to sleep on his back but every time I checked on him, he would be on his belly butt up!
  9. Never lay a baby to sleep on their stomach. The slogan is "Back to sleep"
